It's like a rock star hit up Cabazon... John Varvatos now has it's first outlet/company store west of New York! My apologies if I fashion nerd out on you for a bit. I knew that Varvatos didn't have any other outlets in the nation because there was a pair of shoes I wanted at South Coast Plaza. I went into the store one day and found out I had missed the season ending clearance sale and the shoes had been shipped back into nether land. I did some research and out found previous seasons unclaimed shoes go to the Varvatos outlet... and the only Varvatos outlet was at the huge Woodbury Outlets in New York. So I was crushed... but I'm a little crazy like that and ended up finding the shoes somewhere else a couple of months later (it'll be my little secret). Big ups to Desert Hills Outlet on their expansion project. A year later.... there's a plethora of new designer stores, Varvatos Company Store being one of them (Rag & Bone, Alexander McQueen are some of the others). The Varvatos Company Store maintains much of the flair of their regular stores, but with about half the selection. Instead of 50 shoes to choose from, there's about 20-25. There are jeans, pants, shirts, vests, leather jackets and plenty of accessories. They even have Varvatos Converse collaboration shoes! The prices aren't that cheap (many things are only 30%-40% off retail), but since the store has only been open two months, there hasn't been time for mark downs on the clearance items yet. Give it some time (there are still some 75% off items but it takes some searching). The staff here is helpful and friendly, as Ken helped me try on a couple of pairs of shoes (and even let me know that there actually used to be a Varvatos outlet in Cabazon seven or eight years ago but that was before Varvatos blew up. Been a big fan of JV clothes for years now and have a closet full of his shirts and jackets. Not as much a fan of the customer service at this location. One dude completely ignored me, but at least the second guy was helpful. I asked for a shirt in an XL and I guess they tasked the first guy with retrieving it. It never came to me until I went to the second guy to ask. I guess they brought it out to some other customer they thought was cooler than me. Nevertheless I bought the shirt. This review is solely on the customer service. There was basically none. Zero. I walked in to find the worker behind the cashier on her phone (see picture-yeah I called her out on her shit). No hi, hello, how are you?, can I help you find anything? She said nothing. Even when we passed her multiple times. I was looking at the shirts and I put them back without folding them the way they are displayed and she gave me the DIRTIEST look. I saw her grab them to refold them. I don't think retail is her calling. I think management needs to take care of this...people like coming back for the clothes but also for the amazing customer service. Now this is my hands down favorite designer for edgy men's fashion. I like the fit and rock and roll themes to everything they make with few exceptions. Consider how cool it is to have a designer outlet when the nearest regular store is located in LA or South Coast Plaza? While they are a closeout venue, and sizes and variety reflect one or two previous seasons, I discovered that a large percentage of the clothes were from the full line, or collection, which are delineated by the silver tag. Anyhow, I scored big time and had a lot to show for spending just under $100. See what you walk away from at the regular store for the same expenditure by contrast! In summary, cool scarves, sweaters, sport coats, and shoes to name but a few wonderful things they have here. Stopped in yesterday, greeted by Angel. Asked if I needed assistance, I was deciding which cologne to purchase for my husband as an Anniversary gift. Found the one I was looking for after I smelt each scent. LOL Angel was helpful and pleasant as well as the other three associates in store. Clean store, pleasant atmosphere and was offered a bottled water to drink during my purchase. This is an extremely expensive brand. I've seen other Yelp reviews regarding this location. I would hope that with the fact of it being in an "Outlet Center" : the high price point, area & that many of these customers come from various "walks of life" traveling through here , that they are respected , accepted & treated to a pleasant experience- just as I was. I am an admirer of this clothing line. Very edgy and rustic style. Love it. However, my friend told me about this outlet store in Cabazon and that I should give it a try and save some money. I was here a few days ago and there were two store workers, I blonde hair male and a dark hair lady. Both seems to be more interested in their cell phone then the customers. I picked out few tshirts and a leather jacket. I asked them if the jacket had an additional sale make down since there were a sign over it. The lady said yes. When I went to pay I noticed the discount was not applied to them. I asked her and she said that it was the sales price. But she originally told me there will be an additional mark down. WTH... My issue is not the sale price but their demeanor. Come off as rude and I'm-helpful. It's was like, we don't care if you buy it or not. It's not like the store were busy because I was the only customer there at that time. Definitely not coming back here again. I love the new John Varvatos store! I've stayed away from Cabazon during their long renovation but it's been worth the wait. Varvatos has got to be one of the BEST stores there. The decor, merchandising and great selection is Classic and Edgy with a Rock and Roll vibe. The employees are awesome and very helpful. They know the brand and know the quality of what they're selling. I found myself trying on clothes and shoes that my sales associate chose and after trying them on, I was sold. I ended up purchasing and have returned for more. Your sales associate will email you a heads up on upcoming sales and promotions. Who does that these days? This place has some of the coolest rock pictures. So happy to see this store here I normally go to south coast plaza store, so just about S#*! A brick when I came across them here. I normally hate this outlet mall but had to stop and glad I did. Staff was so great they were friendly ask me about my day never got the weird salesman feeling you get from Prada. Purchased 3 sweaters at $552 for the three on 24August2018. There was a 30% sale on sweaters regularly priced at $244-$265 made in Peru and China. When I saw the manufacturing labels I wanted to take them back. This disreputable store has a no return no exchange policy and it's not posted at the register. So I am stuck with cheap clothes. If there was an option to not even give a star - I would. I went to this store yesterday (July 4, 2014) around 10's AM. I was ready to spend some money since I like John Varvatos clothing/shoe line up. In fact, I have 3 John Varvatos shoes (2 Chukka Boots, and 1 Barrett Plain Toe Boot). When I first came into the store - there was only 1 customer. I walked in - went to the left side of the store and walked towards the Shoe rack which is about couple yards away from the Cashier. I noticed I sales associate walked behind me, then back to the Cashier area. There were 4 sales associates in the Store and when I glanced to my right, they were all gathered in the cashier talking. I was only wearing a white T-shire and a Khaki shorts, slippers, a hat. These 4 idiots never asked if I needed help at All. So I decided to walk out and only then was told "Thank You for Coming". Those 4 sales associates should get a good lesson of Customer Service - I Don't think John Varvatos store would have accepted as it's image to their customer. Bad Bad Bad. read more

These guys are great! They have a good selection of product (although I really only care about the fragrance and the shoes) and a friendly staff. I went in after one of their sales team contacted me about their upcoming sale (for the 4th of July weekend) complete with pictures. The ones she held for me were a little large, so while she was getting me a size, another of their sales team started conversation with me which led us to trading tips on cooking a good meatloaf (?!) and buying some sick-ass shoes for a great price. The customer service is excellent, and the sales associates really understand sizing and fitment, which is rare to find at most stores these days. You truly get what you pay for. It's not really an outlet store, as many of their pieces are still in season and style. Prices can be a little high, but it is still cheaper than paying full price at a Neiman Marcus or Barneys. I've been here twice and laready spent over $500 on clothes! The salespeople here are really helpful and friendly. Often times they would help pick out clothes for you and give recommendations. I never really found clothes that fit my bodytype, I'm kind of a burly fit guy, but after trying on their skull slim jeans I knew I found my new favorite store. The types of clothes they sell here have a rugged rock star conservative look, perfect for someone looking into a more refined but stylish look.
