I saw a review for this place after the first day of Coachella and was SOLD! I was the first customer in this store right at 9am to buy a pair of hokas and could not be happier with my purchase. They have a great variety of shoes there and I found a hoka that was so cute and wore them out of the store and for the rest of the weekend! The woman in the store helped me find my size, and even let me run around like a little kid to see if the shoe felt good for me too! The shoe was well worth the price, around $150 not including tax. I strongly recommend this spot, especially since it's walking distance from hotels nearby. I'm happy I found this place and don't regret my purchase at all!!!! For anyone who experiences foot pain, you know the joy of slipping into a new pair of comfortable shoes with arch support. Not only does this shop carry a plethora of Birkenstock styles, many in patterns and colors I can't find locally, they also carry other brands of fashionable orthotics like Zanot, Vionic, Taos, Pikolinos and more. Even Ugg boots and slippers, which aren't orthotics, but you can add your own arch support, which is what I do. Usually comfort and orthotic do not equal cute, stylish and fashionable. A nice store that was unexpected on a walk through the downtown area of Palm Springs. Not only were there Birkenstocks but also a very nice selection of Olukai sandals and shoes. I had been looking for a pair in black and found just the pair I was looking for. The store was nice and the selections was well displayed. The staff was friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. If you're a fan of Birkenstock or Olukai I certainly recommend a stop if you're in the area. I was looking forward to picking up a pair of Birkenstocks last night while attending Villagefest in Palm Springs. I was very disappointed when i went into the store. There only seemed to be a single staff member working the location. The store was packed full of families, and people looking to make purchases, but there was no one to really assist them. I felt so bad for the one staff member I saw they were trying to do their best. Realizing the Villagefest brings thousands in to downtown Palm Springs on Thursday evening I hope the shop managers adequately staff the store for future evenings. read more

I have broken my foot AND sprained my ankle well enough to require surgery. Yo say that I am very picky about shoes is an understatement. I know all the comfort brands and have yet to find a shop where I live that carry them all. I'm out in PS for a convention and when I saw the sign from the restaurant... I had to stop. Warning! Do not shop here! The staff is there own brand of rude. I went looking for a pair of Hoka shoes and they had a pair that was stained. The manager said, "do you want them or not" . Odd behavior and wish they would hire a new staff that isn't so hateful. read more

The selection in this store is incredible (So many Uggs! So many Birks!) and I was able to find the exact shoe I wanted. Once we returned to the hotel after purchasing a pair of the most comfortable shoes on the planet, I realized I needed a narrow shoe so we returned the next day and they arranged to have them shipped to me from another store at no additional cost! This was one of the more lackluster customer service experiences I have had in a while. I mistakenly brought a new pair of sandals on my vacation and they were sooo uncomfortable so I was very relieved to find a Birkenstock store in downtown Palm Springs. It was very cramped, but the selection was good. It took a long time to get any help or acknowledgement. I think they are very understaffed. When I did get to try on a pair I wasn't sure about the fit and asked for some input since I haven't work birks in so long. The salesperson was not very helpful in terms of assisting me with this question. I ended up buying the shoes out of desperation, which I feel like is maybe how this store makes most of its money. I don't really blame the salesperson; I think this store needs to have two people working on high traffic days like Saturdays. I worked clothing retail for many years and I know it's the worst but it's not great when you feel like staff just wants you to get out of the store. But that's what inevitably happens with understaffing. read more

I have purchased over 5 pairs of Vionic mens shoes, 2 pair of Vionic house slippers, 1 pair Vionic sandals and 2 pair of Hokas I recently purchased a pair of Vionic mens shoes at full price They didn't put them in their box instead they put the shoes in a paper bag I was walking out and one of the clerks said to the clerk that sold me the shoes... tell him to come back.. they called me back to the counter They said the shoes were on sale, so they rang up a credit As I was walking out the second time the clerk said oh these are now not returnable I said What? I wore them at work for less than an hour as the shoes were uncharacteristically hurting my foot I called my home and they brought me my old pair of Vionics I tried to return it exchange them and they said no returns on sale items I showed them the full price receipt and then the girl who originally helped me came over and verified the series of events described above I now have an expensive worthless pair of shoes and I and my family will never shop at any Birkenstock of San Diego store ever again read more

Bringing my review down to 3 stars. I was sold narrow sandals without being given the option of regular width. My feet are by no means narrow. I called to find a way to get this rectified but since I already wore the shoes they wouldn't take them back. They said that the soles would mold to my feet eventually but that begs the question of why there are two widths in the first place. read more

Leave it to me to come to Palm Springs with new shoes that haven't been broken in. After a day of getting blisters, I was desperate to get something comfortable. Came here and realized that I can find a comfortable shoe that actually looks good. Our sales girl, Taylor Binkley was incredible. I tried on so many shoes before I made my purchase. Made a purchase at this store today. Spent over $100 on a pair of Birkenstocks, the clerk told me the sandals were non leather, which is what I wanted. In fact she said non leather was all she had available in the style and color I picked out. Perfect for me. She gets them from the back of the store in a box and puts them in a bag for me. I make my 35 minute drive home, and take the box out of the bag, and on the box its states insole made of "LEATHER". So either she is clueless, lied, didnt care and wanted to make a sale and didnt think I would notice. Not happy at all, and have to make a trip back to return them. read more

The girl at the counter wasn't very friendly.. I was the only one in the store.. I showed her what wanted and told her what size.. well apparently .. birks are supposed to be fitted to your feet.. she watched me just slip them on .. I questioned the sides of the shoe so she brought out another pair.. they fit better.. she adjusted the strap and that was it.. wearing them for a week now .. if she would have taken the time to fit me properly I would have gotten a size smaller .. it took me a while to talk myself into buying birks in the first place.. I am so happy my husband and I stopped at this Birkenstock store, they had a large variety of Birkenstocks in many different colors that I have seen online and wished I could find locally. The employees are very sweet and knowledgeable on the products. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, the girl that was helping us also helped me decide on what pair looked the best on my feet. The apathy in this store is awful. Every time I go in, the young women are giggling and non attentive. I asked the woman about sizing in Birkenstocks and getting any information from her was painful. She could clearly see I had a wider fit and yet did not suggest I go to a medium-wide width , on after I asked her "is their a wider width than this?" Nice store and like the new location. But my main issue is, Nothing is priced. I picked up 4 to 5 shoes and not one of them was priced. I had to ask and then I get an answers like I believe it's 120. something or next shoe, I think it's around 140. It really makes you feel uncomfortable having to ask and then not even get a straight answer. I don't know if I'll be back. It's easier to just shop on-line than to support a local business that just doesn't take the time with it's customers. read more

The service was HORRIBLE. Our "salesman" Zack had a horrible attitude. Three of us girls were doing some shopping and Zack was waiting on 2 of us (the other a gal in the shop who was very nice). I think it is reasonable to expect that it would be necessary to try on additional sizes of the different shoes you are considering to purchase. Each time Zack was asked to get another size or color of shoe he acted like it was a BIG imposition of his time. One example was I asked if he had a style in Black, he went in the back to check, came back and said yes; wouldn't you think he would bring it out with him....you guessed wrong; so when I asked him to bring it to me I got the meanest look from him. Just one example of his attitude. I don't know if that is his attitude daily but it was my experience and it was poor. read more

ZERO STARS is what they deserve. I was directed by this store to La Plaza Shoe Repair right around the corner as the store doesn't do repairs. Long story short, La Plaza put counterfeit soles on my Londons, and botched the buckles job. To the point of replacing them with the WRONG colored buckles and them slapping shoe polish on them to try to change the color. Management at Birkenstock once informed of the situation feigned concern and then LIED to my face about replacing my shoes. A few weeks later and having not heard from her, I call up and she tells me that all she will do is provide me with a pair of soles and that I would have to have them put on someplace. I mean WTF is that??!!! Really??!! I will NEVER patronize this business again. In fact, I'll be telling EVERYONE I know to stay away from this place. THEY SUCK!!!! read more
