The lady (I am very sorry to not remember her name) greeting us was very nice and submitted a ship-to-home order. She was personable and very patient. The order arrived 4 days later as promised. I've been shopping here for many many years. Around 12 to be exact. I just stumbled in here one day out of curiousity, wasn't really looking to buy. I was with my son, who just happens to be the perfect body type for this line, and he picked out a suede jacket from the rack and tried it on. Although it was already discounted, I still thought it was way too much and it was. Then we were approached by a salesman on the floor, Patrick Middleton. He said, "nice jacket, yes?" We agreed but conveyed our thoughts in the pricing and then he says "I'll let you have it for 60% off, no tax!" Hence, the beginning of many many purchases there over the years and a fantastic working relationship with one of the best men's clothing line salesmen around. (You can find him at Neiman Marcus Mens now) In fact, it's the only clothing brand our son wears so you can just imagine. Even got his first proper suit there in which the tailor is amazing at custom fitting. Unfortunately, Patrick left around four years ago when the business changed a bit and Mr Varvatos became less involved. We worked with whatever salesman approached us first from then on but somehow defaulted to Joy the past 4 years. There in lies the current problem. Anyone who has walked through the door knows how easy it is to drop $$$$ in a single visit and we do, twice a year. But Joy, somehow thinks it's ok to make derogatory remarks towards another woman and that's unacceptable. Not just once, but last 6 visits. So much so that I finally called her right there on her behavior. So now we shop outlet as much as possible because I can't nor will I bring myself to drop that kind of money and commissions and not have total respect. I told the management and emailed corporate but it didn't seem to warrant more than a hand slap. I'm not advising you as to whether you should shop here or not. I still would if she was gone and that showed me the moral backbone of the company as well. Never say never though because their inventory can't be beat! So maybe one day again. Just choose your relationship with a PA wisely and discerningly. read more

[EDITED REVIEW TO REFLECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSE] This review is specific to this location. Merchandise and clothing-wise the great unbeatable stuff as you would expect from Varvatos. The service during the shopping experience was certainly decent. But after spending $$$$, the store then waited almost a WEEK to ship out the order which is ridiculous. Should be next business day; worst case maybe two. Then on top of this they sent regular ground so the net effect is it took one day short of TWO WEEKS to send (to Chicago). Of course never expected this and without going into detail, I now have to drive 30 miles with no time to do so in order to pick up the package earlier. Oh yeah, called the store to see what the problem was. They didn't have any explanation but apologized profusely and agreed to change the delivery address. However when I called back to do just that they didn't answer the phone and never called back on the message I left. All-in-all, probably wasted 3 hours of my time trying to resolve issues that resulted from the late shipping. At first I was determined I would not be buying from this location again. However, after a letter to customer service, the management at this store more than made up for the experience, assured me this is not to be expected, didn't know what happened, and would look into it to make sure it doesn't happen again. Definitely five star+ follow-up and I don't believe it was because of my Yelp review which was never mentioned. Therefore, I would definitely shop at this location again and wherever you go Varvatos's merchandise really can't be beat. read more

I've had the pleasure to get some really great looking pieces from this Varvatos location with superb customer service in the past, but in my last visit about a week I ago, I was greeted with alarmingly poor and dismissive customer service. After introducing myself as a young musician who's loved the brand for as long as I've been performing to an employee named John, he proceeded to comment about how not just anyone can afford this brand and asked if I even intended to make a purchase at all - both delivered in a tone that insinuated I didn't have the ability to buy something there. I was literally wearing John Varvatos glasses, jeans, and leather boots when I came in. What does a patronizing response like that say to potential customers, especially when it's directed towards the very audience that this brand is supposed to attract? It's not enough to detract from all of the other positive interactions I've had buying boots, shirts, jackets and even really sick vinyl records here, but that was an extremely disappointing display of arrogance. read more

Simply put, there are a few places of this level that I choose to support and on the rare circumstances where I do break down and indulge instead of look I feel truly grateful that I have the opportunity to do so, a situation only enhanced by the quality of service exemplified here by a woman named Joy who spent nearly an hour of her day digging through the collection with me while talking like an old friend. Sometimes all you need is a little serendipity in your life. I traveled to Vegas to meet a very good friend and the plan was to have dinner with his brothers at Spago (see separate review) in Caesars, nestled in the Forum shops. On the way into our 6 pm reservation, I noticed the John Varvatos shop and told my friend I would need to check it out after dinner. I'm a big fan of John's fashion, don't always have the means to buy a lot of pieces but I have a few and really enjoy what I have. I was like a kid in a candy store. So many cool pieces and article other than clothing. Just a cool vibe with the best customer service. Joy was just that. Complete professional with a desire to engage all of her customers. I'm heading back to Vegas in May and will definitely be spending some time and money in this shop. read more

Great store, Joy is awesome to help you pick the right suit or whatever. She doesn't take any offense if you don't like something or are particular about a fit or style. I recently had a suit fitted there, and I had them make some pretty dramatic changes, they did them to a T, and the suit fit flawlessly. Joy was sure to give me her personal number, and text me back when I had a question. Highly recommended if you like this style of clothing. This store has a nice installation of hanging lightbulbs. I know, its been done before, but i like that kinda stuff! The guy there was super friendly, he talked to us about how items were made and why. There was a pair of weathered leather boots that actually had nails on the bottoms like back in the good ol' days. He also informed me of Varvatos locations in LA & OC & San Fran....I was really impressed how familiar he was with everything Varvatos. Too bad they don't have a womens selection. read more

I was in Detroit on a business trip on May 2nd and decided to go shopping. When I walked in employee Julie assisted me in looking for items. I will share that the service that she provided was excellent overall and she was very attentive to my needs. Overall, the service on that day was good but not close to as good as the other stores I have frequented in Las Vegas. In the end, I purchased two items, the first was a John Varvatos Collection shirt, and the other was a dress shirt. They did not have the dress shirt in my size on the floor, and I requested Julie please see if there was a 15 1/2, 34-35 shirts available and she went to the back of the store and returned with the shirt. When I returned to my hotel, I pulled the tag off and tried the shirt on only to realize that the shirt given to me by Julie was the incorrect size, she had inadvertently handed me a 15 1/2, a 32-33 shirt which is to short on the arms. Since I was on a business trip, and the store was over 20 miles away from where I was staying that night, I placed the original tags in my bag along with the shirt intending to take it for exchange back in Las Vegas when I returned home. While it took a while to fix the issue, John Varvatos came through and I appreciate their commitment to satisfaction. read more

This store is what my closet should look like. Every piece of garment is hanging up evenly spaced out and every folded garment is a perfect square. Get yourself the original pair of laceless converse, not the ones with converse label. There's every color imaginable. Had to get a pair of green and orange ones. I wish I could give this store no stars. Stopped in during a girls trip in December of last year to buy my boyfriend a Christmas gift. It was during the day and I was dressed in comfortable clothes (jeans, t-shirt, and Chuck's). The staff didn't say one word to me nor did they even acknowledge my presence in the store, which was obscenely overpriced for the quality. A gentlemen walked in wearing designer clothes and the staff was more than happy to greet and assist him. Apparently, I didn't look like a serious buyer so the staff didn't give me the time of day. I work very hard and can afford to shop at a store like John Varvatos but after my experience in Las Vegas I won't ever step foot into one of his judge mental stores again. read more

Excellent designs and fit! Now I know what the men's magazines are raving about. The style here is cutting edge and just plain sharp! Obviously, if you are on any kind of budget the prices here may scare you but if you can swing it clad yourself in one of these superior garments. The textiles used are innovative and fresh with a nod towards the hipper look. Make no mistake though, the message here is not adolescent , rather a refined and highly stylized sleek and sophisticated look. Not overdone in any way - just elegantly subtle and chic. I personally recommend Patrick. As a seasoned wardrobe coordinator , he knows the inventory inside-out and can whip up a look exclusively YOURS in a matter of minutes. We walked in the shop looking for a leather jacket & after inspecting his build, Joy immediately picked the right sized jacket for him. It fit beautifully & we were so pleased with our experience!!
