Hands down the best in the game! 8 months ago these guys came out on the coldest day of the winter to install my Tesla issued HPWC with an external EV disconnect box. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, tidy and efficient. Last night my EV disconnect box shorted and blew out (freak accident). Our home needed electric system upgrades, including removal/ replacement of knob and tube wiring. His crew worked for 4 days on this rather large project. I need not repeat all the cudos stated by other reviewers as I can attest to their veracity. But I must say the crew were always very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and immediately communicated with us regarding any issues that arose. Two weeks after they finished the job an exterior ground fault receptacle malfunctioned ( not their fault), within one hour they returned to replace the defective receptacle. This is a reliable and honest first class company. I would hire them again and again. read more

Not pleased. John's sons Dan and Eric charged me $356 to install a fiber optic cable, running it from the basement through the walls up to the 3rd floor apartment, but they accidentally broke off the end of the cable, rendering it useless. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and offering to reinstall it, they said they would only come back if I would pay them again. I felt this wasn't fair: they broke the cable, they should stand behind their work and not use their mistake as an opportunity to make more money. I hired another electrician who correctly installed the cable and charged me $56 less, too. read more

John and Dan replaced the service cable and upgraded the electrical as well as installed a light fixture. They arrived exactly on time. Communication during the job was very good as they kept me updated. When the job was finished, they took me through all the work that was done. Our condo association has had two small electrical jobs over the last few years. It's been a very difficult to find an electrician willing to take them on. Vespa Electrical has stepped up in both cases, and provided good service, in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. One job that required replacing ballasts in fluorescent lamp fixtures in a high-ceilinged basement. The other job required rewiring two circuits that have been installed to the wrong breaker panels when the building was converted to Condominiums 14 years ago. A circuit for one of the units was tied to the breaker panel for the common areas, and an outlet that was heavily used in a common area had been tied to a breaker panel for one of the units. On the second job, not only was the wiring corrected, and left far neater than it had been before, but the electrician made a point of labeling both electrical panels clearly and distinctly. The timing of the work happened as quoted, and the price was fair. We will definitely be turning to Vespa for our next electrical job! read more

Phil from John Vespa Electrical came to our home at the recommendation of a neighbor. The email communication from the company was fantastic. They responded promptly, kindly and with all of the information we needed. We then were easily able to schedule an appointment for them to come hide some TV wires. John Vespa and his sons Dan & Eric rewired my entire 3 bedroom condo. They estimated the time to be 6 work days in the living space and one day in the basement and it was exactly that. They are professional, ethical, and expert electricians. They are also pleasant, polite, and respectful. They were as non-invasive as they can be while tasked to do a very invasive rewiring job. They cleaned up each day as they went and then did a end of day tidy up before leaving for the day, hauling away debris from the day each day when they quit for the day. I have used John Vespa for 10 years at two houses. John is a straight shooter and tells me what needs to be done to be legal as well as for practicality and usefulness purposes. John and his crew are timely, professional, and friendly, and they have done a great job for us on multiple projects so far. The thing is, I can understand how the 1-star review here would happen. If I had to guess, the reviewer's electrics probably were in an awful mess, and instead of taking the quick money and adding more fire hazards onto a broken system, John will have told him all the things that actually needed to be done for it to be done right. For example, we had a ceiling fan that smelled bad every time we turned its lights on (which was unsettling, to say the least). It turned out that all the wires for it were crammed into a pancake box, which wasn't actually connected to the beams in the ceiling. So John took the time to show us and explain what was wrong, and his team set about replacing it with an actual fan box, cutting into the ceiling, connecting it to the beams so it wouldn't fall on us, etc. By the time they were done, everything was cleaned up. The ceiling looked like they had never been there. The new fan was working great (with no smell), and we could sleep easier knowing that it would neither start a fire, nor come crashing down on our heads. We've had his team out now quite a few times (all of our condo electrics were installed in a manner similar to our smelly death fan), and every single time they have been exceptional. If you want things done right by good folks, I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
