It's rich in culture and is one of the most diverse schools in the area. For the most part the kids that attend have decent attitudes and team spirit. Both my kids have received a strong education and the older is doing fine going into her 3rd year at a major university. Let's face it folks, if our children want to succeed they can by aligning themselves with good kids and putting forth effort in class. Poly certainly provides kids with the guidance and instruction they need to be successful if the kids and families do their part. Both our kids look at their time at Poly and smile believing high school was a great experience. Athletically Poly has some of the best teams in Southern California. Every year they have teams in CIF and beyond. Being the father of a Poly wrestler, I just wish they invested more in the program because it embodies character, strength and mental toughness. Poly wrestlers are some of the best athletes at the school but unfortunately it's not a huge money maker so they are frequently overlooked for funding, accolades or greater support. In the last couple years Poly wrestlers have become formidable competitors in league, CIF and this year State. This is why they should take a closer look at investing in the team and supporting it like the others. Lastly, since Poly has brought on Mr Roe the school has moved forward by leaps and bounds. Mr Roe has brought a new and much needed spirit and positive attitude to the school and faculty. All the kids love him and most parents find themselves immediately supporting him after a few minutes of getting to know him. I just hope Poly keeps him for a few more years before education promotes him to assistant superintendent or greater.

From the onset, we received a very warm welcome from both staff and parents. One of the standout features of the school is the small class sizes. This allows for personalized attention and fosters a supportive learning environment where each child can thrive and receive the attention they deserve. The dedication and care exhibited by the teachers and administrators is readily seen. Beyond academics, the school has fun events and activities for the students, both field trips and seasonal activities, creating opportunities for both learning and community. My boys always look forward to the activities. A Catholic, faith based education that aligns with our family morals and values was a must, and we see the school's emphasis on providing this kind of education, which is so comforting considering the current state of affairs. I'm very pleased with our decision to send our boys to St. Frances de Sales Catholic School and we wholeheartedly recommend it to any parents seeking a close-knit, nurturing, faith based, and academic environment for their children.

Admin left a classroom of special education students mainly alone with only outside hire substitute…read moreaides. Their hired substitute had a flat tire who was meant ro arrive later, which they told to only an adjacent teacher to the substitute aide watched classroom. That adjacent teacher proceeded to remove as many kids as he could safely handle to his room and checked in on the aide run classroom for around four and a half hours. Administration finally sent the attendance officer to sit with the class until an entirely different substitute showed up. Said substitute only lasted about 10 minutes until a student displayed aggressive behaviors and fled. Administration showed back upon being told the substitute was leaving. Gross misconduct, to leave a classroom of substitute aides (half of whom have never been with these students before) alone with a classroom of not only children but special education children. Admin could have sent literally anyone in the time it took for a substitute to appear just to ensure that aides had support and there was no risk of liability for students and staff alike.
