While running a very quick errand at the CT Post Mall, I decided to order takeout from Johnny Rockets. I've passed this establishment too many times to count, but it's never been a thought. I recently saw someone review their food, and it looked pretty good, so since I was in the area, I decided to give them a try. I placed my order via DoorDash because I had credits, but the restaurant does not allow you to make requests through the app. So I placed my order, and immediately asked the young lady at the counter for the adjustments. For me, that was replacing the beef patty with an impossible patty. There was an up charge of $2, which I paid for with cash. To my surprise, french fries are not automatically included. I didn't realize this, as I was placing my order. When I made the selection, I thought it was just showing me the included sides to select from. Had I known they were extra, I would not have ordered them as I'm not a french fry fan. They have a limited time burger, which is a standard cheeseburger with jalapeño poppers, added on. Very interesting. I like jalapeño poppers, I like burgers, so why not? It was really good. It added a slight kick to the burger, and the cheese within the poppers added an extra layer of creaminess. The fries were standard shoestring fries, not my favorite cut, so if I return, I do not see myself ordering them. But, they have vegan milkshakes. I ordered strawberry and they only come in one size. It was really good. Some vegan shakes automatically perform as vegan. But this one almost tasted as if it were made from dairy milk. I'm not a vegan, so if they made a mistake, I'm not affected, but anyone who may be vegan or have lactose issues may want to just verify & confirm that they're being served the vegan version. Although it's in the food court, they have separate seating with that 1950s or 60s aesthetic. But there's also ample seating throughout the food court. It's noisy and there is a lot of traffic, but it's located in a mall, and it is holiday season. If I find myself wanting a specialty burger, with an impossible patty, I would return. The only reason I ate here was for nostalgia purposes. I should've declined the offer. My burger bun was burnt on the top and bottom, the patty itself, well let's just say McDonald's would've left a better feeling going down the gullet. Most of the fries were hard, just from the first bite I wished I didn't bother to order them. My friend's chicken club was a much better option. She enjoyed her sandwich and the milkshake. At least one of us did. The cashier/server was sweet, I wanted to mention that since it can't be easy maintaining a pleasant demeanor in a mall fast food court on the weekend. So they couldn't give a mall employee discount because the person that 'can do it's wasn't there. Also the one cooking went to help the one ringing. The one ringing wasn't wearing gloves that the position the one cooking was. The one cooking did not take off their gloves to use the POS and the didn't change the gloves after. Went opened the fridge took out a burger three it on the flat top. So any germs the one that wasn't wearing gloves put on the POS are not on the one that's cooking's gloves and the one not wearing gloves now has raw meat reminements on his hands. Good wait time was long, Classic burger and fries were warm, tasted like the sauce was starting to turn bad, Rolls did not taste fresh, tables needed to be cleared and it was not busy, bathrooms not clean and no paper towels. This is the Johnny Rockets franchise in Connecticut Post Mall's food court. I'm sure the menu is the same as at every other Johnny Rockets - hamburgers, fries, onion rings - nothing special. But the quality is good. They cook everything to order - what you get is always fresh and hot. And it is pretty clear that the manager (or owner?) keeps on top of things. The grilled cheese was completely misleading. The menu states it has carmelized onions and tomatoes on it. What I received was toast with cheese inside. Absolutely no onions or tomatoes on it. I double checked the receipt to make sure the order was what I had picked from the menu and it was all correct. So I would avoid that certain menu item. My experience was delightful. Let me start off by saying the milkshake was nothing less than perfection. I ordered a choclate milkshake with chiken tenders, the fast workers made the milkshake in about a minute in a half but the chicken took them roughly 9-10 minutes. The chicken and the milkshake went very good together even though the milkshake was already melting. The food itself was about 3-4 stars but the kind staff really pushed my experience into the 4-5 star range. read more

I honestly didn't care for this location at all. The wait wasn't too bad and the staff was friendly, but I had to repeat myself multiple times to make sure they got my order straight. The food was nothing to write about (literally), perhaps next time I will get something totally different and like it. The seating was the biggest problem. There really wasn't much to choose from at the actual restaurant stand and for what was there, it was dirty. Parking is not bad at all. You can easily park outside of one of the many store or mall entrances near this food joint and walk right to it. Prices are a bit high for the quality of food that you receive. It was a Wednesday night When I started off having to get extra seasoning on my burger because the first time I went the first set of cooks were great the burger was good and the second time i went it was the opposite.(no taste) just beef taste.
