Overpriced If I could give this shop 10 NEGATIVE darts, I would! Short version of a longer story: After searching for mechanics that could repair my 2014 S.U.V. I chose this shop because the owner ("Johnny") appeared knowledgeable about engines, like how one could get damaged, and how to best fix it. I had my vehicle towed to his shop, late 2023, from a different shop, after getting a quote of around $9k to replace the engine block. As the replacement and repairs were done, the price kept increasing. I borrowed and spent over $10,757 for the replacement of the engine and various components. I got a Cashier's check for $8,500 and was going to pay the rest by card and cash. He insisted I take the Cashier's check back to the bank and pay him in ALL CASH or he would not release my vehicle! That, to me, was a SHAKEDOWN. If he lies and states it didn't happen, I'll PROVE UP! I took the Cashier's check back to the bank and handed him cash. I got the keys to my car and left. After driving it for a couple of minutes, I realized how peculiar it drove. I pulled over, checked the engine and called Johnny. He asked me to bring it back & they'd run a diagnostic. I did and he told me "no codes" were detected. He lied. His manager told me there were codes. **By doing that, he simply confirmed what I had suspected (once repairs began) I couldn't TRUST that street urchin.*** I replaced the catalytic converter, all of the ignition coils and nothing cured the MISFIRE codes I continued to get. I even took it to Ford and they had it for THREE (3) days, unable to detect the issue on the NEW engine I'd paid Johnny over $10k for. They (Ford) suggested I take my car back to his shop, but I didn't trust him/them to treat me fairly and/or to make a good faith effort in locating the root of the issue. Especially because I felt like whatever the issue was, had been intentionally done by them. I recommend anyone considering this shop, look elsewhere. I wouldn't trust taking a Tonka Toy there, let alone your primary vehicle. After he demanded I pay him in cash, threatened to withhold my vehicle and gave me a car with a misfiring engine, he had the GALL to ask me to write him a review. Here you go, boy. read more

Absolutely amazing!!! The service is prestine, fast, and accurate. I got a brand new engine installed here in just about a day or two, giving me rates that blew in other mechanics out the water! Johnny has been my mechanic for the past 10 years or so and last week I got a flat tire in Van Nuys. I went to a tire place to replace the tire and they told me I needed new front and rear brakes and rotors. If I could give them zero, I would. I took my Jeep Compass 2022 because the green "A" with a circle is the Auto Start-Stop system, it is failing, it triggers the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) to turn off, the "A" goes yellow and causes starting, stalling, and electrical issues. I told the guy what my car was doing, I told him I had checked both batteries with another mechanic, and that mechanic told me both batteries are at 100%, so I thought it could be a sensor or some electrical issue. This place Johnny's run a diagnosis on which I don't see the IBS diagnostic, in the end they changed the aux battery, and I got charged $520, but the car has still the same problem, not a fixed at all, called them to go for a third time, they are now saying it could be the main battery, I have a tight budget, I am not taking my car for a guessing but for a Solution, I don't pay for guessing and I feel ripped off! read more

He called in a timely manner to tell me what they found, what should be done, how long it would take and how much it would cost. He did what he said it needed, in the time he said and for the price he said. For me, that was epic. He even showed me one of the parts they replaced. I have had several cars serviced here for larger repairs. Parking is tight, so I was a little anxious on my first visit because this is a very busy garage. But easy enough to park on the street or at Target if there are too many cars on-site. Very professional diagnosis and follow-up. The work orders were very detailed, the work was performed well with no issues, and the check-out went through the work performed and any additional recommendations. Johnnys has been my go to mechanic for almost 10 years now. I purposely don't spend a ton of money on new cars because Johnnys has kept me and my kids vehicles well maintained and in the road. One of them had over 250,000 mi on it. Hubie and his team of mechanics are very professional and personable. They work long hours and are very commutative. The other day my car started rattling driving on capital so I pulled over real quick into Johnnys Auto. They test drove it and took a look to see what was going on. The owner, Johnny, got my car information and informed me because my car was new it was still under warranty by the dealer. He had his mechanic check to see if the car was safe to drive and had me take it there to be fixed. He could have easily made some money off of me because I had no clue, but he was a great honest human and told me where I should go to see if it was something under warranty, and it was. Our car developed an ominous rotational noise on the freeway in San Pedro. We exited the road and sought the closest mechanic shop in the area. Johnny's was very busy, but they took the time to have a mechanic get on the freeway with us to diagnose the problem. After hearing the noise and then examining the car in the shop, they determined that the vehicle under shield had come loose. Made an appointment to take my 86 in for gas leakage...this was on a Tuesday...waited all day Wednesday..nothing..called them on Thursday..they hadn't gotten to my car yet..ok..so I told the manager to please call me back when they find out..waited Friday..nothing..so I had to call them again on Saturday.. Finally they told me it was an aluminum gas line.. So they had to order it because it wasn't in stock..so I waited Monday..nothing... Tuesday nothing.. I called them again on Tuesday and they said that the part came in..again I waited two more days..and my car was finally done on Thursday.. I had to pay for an Uber, almost two weeks of car rental and their outrageous bill.. A $650.00 minus the so called "discount" for waiting so long of $150.00 that they were still going to charge me for finding out what was wrong with the car. I am a person of color, mom to two little kids (one in an hospital lended car seat due to temp handicap so losing my car a few days was going to displace our family) , I also showed up alone with no car knowledge, and Johnny prioritized my car! Johnny is a family Man and supports struggling moms. I didn't feel taken advantage of, Johnny (and his wife) were so accommodating.
