Came in here after using the yelp quote system and was quoted a certain price. When I get there at the scheduled time the rude curly headed guy asked me to provide the parts for the repair or it was going to cost more. I became upset, since I had been dealing with his bad attitude since I walked in and he was trying to rip me off. Inimmediately walked away and I said "You have a bad attitude by the way." To which he replied "Me?!" And I said "Yeah, you dip$h*t." Granted, I was a little rude but mostly because I wanted to get my car fixed for the price he gave me in the estimate. Flash forward a couple hours later, after fixing my car myself, I left a bad Google review for this guy so that people know he is a scammer. Well he replies and makes up a whole story about how I was cussing him out for a long time and interupting other customers. His story in the review had several contradictions in it and he must have realized it, since he deleted it or challenged my review via the system. After reviewing the other reviews, it appears clear to me that he is manipulating the Google system for a better rating. Definitely avoid if you do not know about auto repairs. First off id like to say not everything here is terrible, actually for most of my time there people were friendly and transparent. The good stops right about there. Initially when I took my car in i was quoted a price, a couple hours later I got a call from Sam with a different price of 200$ more. They did a-lot of work on my jeep, they replaced the oil cooler and transmission heater which were both leaking, the repairs took them a few days and everything seemed good. Until I took my family on a roadtrip a week later. Turns out both parts that were installed into my jeep were faulty and my family and I were stranded in nevada and i had to get it towed back home. When i returned the car to them it took them more than a week to get those parts switched out again, but when i arrived to pick up my car, it all just felt off. There was a clicking coming from the undercarriage and i requested them to please fix it because that was not like that when i dropped it off. So they fixed that, I hop in the car and to my shock the jeep is COVERED in grease and oil, and i get it they are mechanics and thats bound to happen but man, i felt it showed their attention to detail and care for the customer was not there. But again you whatever, I took the car, and maybe got a mile down the street and my car was covered in white smoke. Turns out they forgot to clamp down the coolant hose and is sprayed everywhere. So again i was stranded and had to fix it myself. I had to pay someone else to put check the car and put it back together correctly, there were multiple hoses loose and disconnected solenoids causing the check engine light to come on. Just overall this place has caused me a ton of stress, my jeep is STILL leaking and I'm out of 2.1k. They put my family and I's live at risk with their carelessness and this was just an Overall horrible experience. Like i said Sam is great but they really need to take a look at the mechanics working on the cars. read more

I spoke to Sam who provided great service. Response on yelp was quick and painless. So happy they were open on Saturday! Even when they had four other cars ahead of mine they were able to squeeze in time for an A/C recharge and front headlights check. The A/C recharge was done at a price comparable to other locations (with exception to the actual dealership) and they reported nothing was wrong with my headlight. I guess my car light covers are just too oxidized I cannot see much light on the road. I dropped off the car at 10am and the car was ready by 1pm. So my car battery was dead in the morning which had been an ongoing issue. My car was just off a very busy road by 20ft give or take. Unfortunately due to financial constraints I had to let my AAA membership lapse and some digging tow companies were asking for $100 for a simple jump! So had to get creative and take a gamble to ask some near by auto mechanics if they would be willing to come jump start the car knowing it's an unusual request. Now mind you that busy street 20ft away, why not with jumper cables try to flag someone down a Good Samaritan perhaps? Oh I did do that.....for FOUR hours with no luck. So if you saw a guy with jumper cables waving for help, hang your head in shame now. So with a deep breath I started the task of hoping some mechanic would be kinda enough to help knowing this would require taking someone off their current task interrupting work flow. The first place that was close to me is the one that I called and that was Hillside Auto Clinic. The gentleman answered the phone and I said OK I know this is super random and this isn't something you probably offer but desperate times call for desperate measures. I explained him the dilemma and as I expected, he said well that's not something we normally offer you can tell and he said he had to bounce around his head like what would I even charge for that? He named a price and after not much of a haggle, but saying what was within my means, he agreed and said he would be there shortly now realizing this was the owner of Hillside Auto Clinic named Sam. I also wanted to reassure him that I wasn't just gonna let him jump my car and run away, so I made sure we agreed on the way to pay and he was able to bring his mobile payment device. Not much thereafter and being able to text him as well, he quickly arrived. Now, let me tell you aside from being very helpful and quick to get there for those who might care to know the Adonis came out of his vehicle, now I don't know his status, but let me tell you he was cookin'. Look up Debonair in the dictionary and our man Sam's photo is right there. In no time at all, he got my car jumped and I was on my way with a quick handshake and thank you very much and even surprise me with a really great deal better than we agreed upon on the phone he literally made my day, especially as a one can imagine after sitting there for four hours. About three Fridays ago, I called Hillside for a quote on replacing the lower control arms on my Ford C-Max. Sam was super responsive and gave me a fair price, so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for the weekend to have the work done on Monday. To my surprise, Sam said that if I could bring the car in that same day, they could finish the job before the shop closed--such a huge help! That meant I had my car back for the weekend and didn't have to miss school on Monday. The repair was completed well before closing, and I really appreciated the quick turnaround and solid work. The service was fast, but over charged me on labor which was for 1 hours. I asked Sam why my alternator shouldn't cost what you are charging me. He said "they have different kinds" but looking up my alternator should have cost less. It was charged almost double the amount! Ended up getting a tow to this shop on due to a blown starter which left me stranded (invest in AAA you never know when you'll need it) this was the closest shop with decent reviews from where I was at the moment. It was a late Saturday afternoon and the shop owner, Sam, replied quickly explaining that he was closed for the day but the car could be left parked on the street and it would be looked at Monday morning. He was very responsive and attentive despite the shop being closed already. Come Monday morning, I show up talk a little bit with Sam about the problem and explains it could be the starter, that he will have a mechanic test it and see. He however, also states how he hopes the engine didn't seize and proceeds to say how bad Hyundai engines are and how they tend to seize without warning. This came on pretty strong and can be overwhelming to somebody to hear that your car engine can just seize at any moment. He of course, offers that he can do what I understood a deep cleaning of the oil pan and other services. Once it was determined that the starter was the issue, he asked if I wanted to the cheaper starter or more expensive so I went with higher end right, especially after being told my car engine is bad, it made me feel like I needed to go with the higher priced options. Anyway, he also offers that can he can do an inspection of the car free of cost and let me know if there is any maintenance he recommends to the car in addition to the starter. I leave the shop and wait for the call that the car is ready, I do get a call about an hour later with texted picture of spark plugs, an oil dipstick, and some sort of belt he recommends should all be serviced which would be at a cost of around $1400, I politely decline and ask for just the starter to be replaced. About another half hour later I get a call that the car is ready. So all in all, i don't think I would do my regular car services here, but I was not disappointed with the service as it was diagnosed and fixed on the same day. Oh, and also try to have cash handy as there is a 3% service fee for debit card usage. read more

My only disappointment was that one of my car issues seemed to have just gotten parts thrown at it instead of actual diagnostic work for which I paid for.
