This is a no frills barbershop. They are taking COVID precautions very seriously and are vey conscientious and friendly. It's straightforward haircuts, done at a good price and without a lot of unnecessary add insult or sales pitches. The main guy has lots of experience and is pretty fast. Matt cut my hair today, he is a 3rd generation barber, in fact, his grandfather started the business in 1961 and is still cutting hair. Wanted to try a new place that's closer to me and affordable. That's the only thing going for this place, an average price. Didn't get the chance to tell him how I wanted my hair cut on top before he lopped half of it off. Completely got rid of my part (like what? I'm not paying you to style my hair, I'm paying you to cut it). The sides look mediocre at least. Got to wear a hat for the next month when this grows back out. Definitely don't recommend. read more

The owner's daughter attended to me. This was the first time I went to have a shave of my beard and sideburns with a blade, old style. She did a great job and took her time to do it. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding as I wanted it clean shaven and she took it as bread and sideburns trimming. After I paid I noticed it was not clean shaven. She apologized and did exactly as I wanted the beard clean shaven. She corrected the misunderstanding without a murmur. At the shop I saw some regulars - one was a 20 year, another a 12 year and the other 10 year repeat and regular customers which speaks volumes to me. Yes this is no fancy barber shop. It is reasonably clean and comfortable. I was able to get in without any waiting. The prices are shockingly very reasonable. I will recommend this place and will go again. read more

i was sorely disappointed with this barber. i had read the good reviews on here and was hopeful--but my haircut ended up being not at all what i asked for and uneven. i wanted a fade and specified the guard lengths. he made a joke about me giving him numbers and told me i was asking for a buzz cut. i've never called it that because to me, a buzz cut is one length all around. but hey, he's the barber, so maybe i was wrong. i couldnt see what he was doing cause he faced me away from the mirror, but i thought he was changing the lengths as he cut. the uneven part was when he cut my natural hairline around my temples with a razor and made it rounded for some reason, then cut down into my beard and stopped halfway through. as he was doing that he knicked me with the razor and didn't even say anything about it--i didn't realize until i saw the blood once i got to my car. my hair is short enough and i'm balding that normally i just cut my hair myself, but i have a wedding tomorrow and was hoping for a professional cut to look sharp, and now i'm just feeling self conscious and pretty upset that i held off on cutting it myself. will not be going to this barber again. $8 for a reason, i guess. read more

It is particularly difficult for me to find a good barber, as I travel often and often cut my own hair. I have been doing so for more than 15 years, as well as cutting my friend's hair. This place is not an upscale looking location, however it is traditional and beyond expectations on first impression. This is the epitome of a local and long running shop! As they do great work. Matt did a great job on my haircut and new exactly what I wanted before explaining to him. I have been into the shop 3 times now, and I have been treated with respect and most importantly, quality service and a great haircut. I will continue to stop in, when I am in the Denver area! Apparently you must be part of the "Good ol Boys" club to get a haircut. I was passed over several times for walk-ins that were know by name. The only explanation was that another barber would be here soon. Finally left with no haircut. So much for trying to support local business. read more

They were frienly in the shop... But... I shouldn't have to to re-cut my hair when I leave a barbershop. Besides the pomade hiding all the long hairs left upon my head, the "1/4 inch" length was definitely not a quarter inch. (Get your clippers sharpened more often). I guess my biggest question is how do you miss a chunk of someone's sideburn when they ask for a skin fade? Whelp this is part of moving to a new city, trying to find a new Barbershop. But hey! You get what you pay for. The lady who cut my hair didn't really listen to the fact that I was growing my hair out on top, and proceeded to cut it very short. She also jerked my head and neck around like crazy throughout the entire hair cut. In addition to it being 90 degrees in the shop, I was very underwhelmed by the result and the experience. I've had a bunch of mediocre haircuts in the past, but this was my first BAD haircut! Johnny is getting up there in the years and is not to be trusted. I had to remind him of my part direction twice. The real negative was his lack of asking questions about major style choices. He removed my sideburns without asking and I have a gap to my beard. Now the kicker....he shaved a "wide" part into my head without asking. His buzzer was cutting into my part before I knew what he was doing. My head now has a shaved line 1/2 inch thick going down my part. WTF!! I now look like an 17 year old that is trying way to hard to look cool. I couldn't believe he did that without asking. I don't care how easy on the wallet and old school cool this place is, this experience was terrible. I now have to attempt to fight my lifetime part direction, with literally a comb over, to hide this wide part. Thanks for teaching me to stay away from discount barbers, NEVER AGAIN! read more

In going to be honest. I will never come back to this place. I went there the other day and I got grandpa. I told to just do a 2 all around on the sides and nothing on the top. He then tried to do a fade which came out really bad. I never asked him to do a fade. He then started cutting the top part of my hair. Which I told him to NOT cut it. I had pretty nice long hair but then grandpa cut almost half of it. When I told him he said he was just cutting the hairs that stick out. I told him to just leave it alone. Honestly I won't ever come here again. My hair got really messed up. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. There are places that cut hair way better and will take there time and I can guarantee you that you will come out nicer then this place. read more

I got my hair cut by "Grandpa" yesterday. Just a simple 1-2 high fade and asked him to clean it up on top. This may have been the worst hair cut I've ever had. He left tons of long hairs all around the sides of my head. I left there looking like a mangy dog with a flat top. Didn't have the heart to tell him how bad it was. Just went back to my old barber and let him fix it. If you go to this place wait for the younger guy to help you. read more

I don't know about some of these reviews, I've never seen this woman they're speaking of in this barber shop. I've actually never seen any woman ever in this shop in the 8 times I've been. It's a great simple barber shop run by grandfather and grandson, they're cheap ($8) and they do a great job. No complaints, good small talk. I stumbled on this place almost on accident months back when I lived in the neighborhood I now live over a half hour away and drive all the way down to johnnys for my hair cuts!!! Every time I've been here (about 5) they always do an awesome job, and you cannot beat the price!!! ($8).
