This coney is one of my favorites. I've been eating here for something like 20 years. Yummy!

Motown Cafe was awesome and one of my favorite surprise Detroit breakfast spots…read more The first point I'd make about this spot is it's an incredible bang for your buck. If you took their Catfish and Grits and stuck in a Downtown, Midtown or Eastern Market location, it'd cost at least $27. It comes with 3 huge filets of Catfish, 2 Eggs and Grits. Here, it's only $18 and there is a 0% chance you're not taking some home unless you're Kobyashi. The Chicken and Waffles was fantastic as well, and again, you're getting a huge portion for around $14. You are almost guaranteed to be taking some home. I was super impressed. The Catfish was well made and didn't have a ton of batter caked on to it which is my only deal breaker when it comes to Catfish. I put some hot sauce on it and it was fantastic with the Grits and Eggs. The Chicken on the chicken and waffles and juicy, hot and huge. It had a flavorful batter on it, but it wasn't too much to where you felt like they were chicken tenders off the kids menu. The service was awesome and our waitress was incredibly accommodating (Multiple Coffee refills, brought out a bunch of condiments, nice). The store owner was incredibly nice as well. The inside is a clean diner with comfortable booths. You're not packed in here and your party isn't spilling into other people's tables like other spots. It's a very relaxing spot to eat midday when you have things coming up and just need peace. This area of Van Dyke doesn't have many restaurants, so go and patronize this one that's a bit off the beaten path. You won't leave disappointed or hungry!

I asked for one grilled and one fried and omg they gave it to me! The hashbrowns aren't burnt or crunchy! They actually have a decent amount of potatoes in them! Portions. Oh yeah. I could barely eat the whole thing in one sitting. Honestly I preferred the grilled over the fried. They weren't nasty but the grilled BANG - U HEAR ME! I've never been here before so I wasn't sure if it was a regular coney or what- but lemme tell you ITS NOT! If you're thinking about it- go ahead

Good, not great. I'd eat here again if someone else wanted to go, but I wouldn't seek it out. I…read morewould choose five guys over little ghost. The Burger: The patty is the highlight. It has perfect density, is well-seasoned, and is easily 15% better than a Five Guys patty. The Toppings: The lack of customization is frustrating. No extra options or toppings are allowed. It comes with American cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce (not a fan), and way too much sauce. The sauce itself is okay, but the burger was drowning in it. The Fries: Good firmness, they definitely hold their shape better than Five Guys but Five Guys' Cajun fries still win on flavor. The Value: I paid about $20 for a burger, fries, and a tip. It feels expensive, but with Five Guys at $18 and a McDonald's Big Arch meal at $14 these days, the price is fairly standard for the current market.

Just realized I didn't take any photos of my food lol…read more 3.5/5 Came here for lunch today after wanting to try this place out. It's a very small burger joint with minimum seating. Ordered a single, a double, two drinks and fries. Totally was 34$. Very expensive I feel. Food was good though. I did enjoy the burger. The single was enough. They don't have any toppings for the burger besides cheese, lettuce and their ghost sauce (basically mayo, pickles and maybe tomatoes). They do have packets of ketchup and mustard if you ask. Fries were fresh and you can tell. This was my favorite thing. They were actually very good. I didn't care for the fancy sauce too much though. But the size of the fries are shareable I feel. Overall I would come here again and try other food. But, with the lack of toppings for the price, it would steer me away.
