I have done business with John's for many years and have never been disappointed in the variety of appliances they offer, competitive pricing, and in-house service department. Recently, I purchased a king mattress and although a recognized name brand I was unhappy with it. Even though I had it for at least 6 months, David, the manager of the bedding department at the South Daytona store exceeded my expectations. Came when they said, hooked washer, dryer and fridge up. Everything was fine. This was Dec 2025. Had interior painted. Pulled fridge out and water started spewing from the ice maker feed. It was only finger tight. How it didn't leak before I don't know. Pulled out the one piece stacked washer/dryer and found the 220volt wires went through the back of the washer with no strain relief or clamp. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. WASHERS vibrate and eventually these wires would have chaffed through. NOT COOL ! read more

We purchased a brand new washer and dryer from John's Appliance a few weeks ago and scheduled delivery before moving into our new home on March 29th. When we officially moved in on April 2nd, we quickly realized the dryer wasn't working--it wouldn't heat up at all and, therefore, couldn't dry clothes. My husband had to pack up wet laundry and take it with us on a trip just to dry it once we got there. Not ideal, but we figured we'd deal with it once we returned. We called John's Appliance the Monday we got back to report the issue. It took until that Friday for them to send someone out--already frustrating. The technician arrived unannounced (no courtesy call despite giving us an 11am-3pm window), only to tell us he couldn't determine what was wrong with the brand new dryer. He said he'd follow up with our salesperson and let us know the next steps. It is now Monday again--two full weeks without a working dryer--and we still haven't heard from anyone. I called this morning to ask for an update and was told someone would call me back. That was hours ago. No resolution, no urgency, no accountability. We're a family with two kids, including a son who plays competitive soccer, and laundry piles up fast. I've had to wash clothes at home and haul soaking wet laundry to my parents' house just to dry them. We paid full price for a brand new appliance that hasn't worked since day one, and the lack of follow-through or concern from John's Appliance is unacceptable. They were quick to make the sale--but now refuse to stand behind their product or service. I regret ever doing business with them and would strongly urge others to take their money elsewhere. The two of them worked well together and were very careful of what they did and took care of my refrigerator like it was their own.I can't really tell you how the refrigerator is working, because they just left here half an hour ago. I bought a stove, gas range, microwave, and dishwasher from John's appliance on Beville Road. I did not have my hook my stove hooked up until a few months after I bought it because my kitchen was being redone and we needed a gas line to be put in. Within two weeks of using my new oven it overheated to past 500° and warped the cabinets on the side of the stove. Thank God I was home because the house would have probably caught on fire. I immediately called John's appliance. This is the beginning of October they diverted our call to the company that made the stove , Smeg, and didn't even provide contact information just told us that we had to call the manufacturer. So after dealing with the manufacturer for about a month, we only had a part sent to us in the mail that my husband had to put in because John appliance wouldn't even send someone out to look at the stove. They charged me for an installation fee on all the appliances and did not install not one of the appliances and they charge me at $350 warranty in which they are now not honoring. So now my stove has not been working since September. I have called John's appliance repeatedly only to be gaslighted. I had no stove or oven to cook for my family on Thanksgiving and now I don't have one to cook at Christmas. All they do is promise that a new stove will be sent from the manufacturer. The manufacturer has no Information about this called delivery. And they will not offered an exchange or my money back they won't even give me my money back for an installation fee that they did not do. Do not go to this company. They are a scam and the customer service is horrible. I've been hung up on and repeatedly. Also told that they will call me back and they never do, we have to continue to call them to get any gaslighting returned. I'm gonna have to contact the Better Business Bureau of the state and the federal trade commission and also the Attorney General of the state to get my money back, not to mention the fact that it's a dangerous product they gave me dealing with gas. If I could give negative stars I would. It's absolutely disgraceful for a store to treat people this way accompany a store. Whatever you wanna call it. They have no ethics. They can't even be nice to you on the phone. They switched the phone to one manager to one sales representative to another, practically laughing in your ear on the phone nobody's taking it serious. Nobody cares. They can't even do the decent thing and just return my money and let me go on my way. Terrible! We purchased an LG appliance set here about 2 years ago . The LG fridge was an ordeal and just ended at the street and purchased a new fridge. Today the LG package microwave started heating. First off no we did not buy the extended warranty as we have never had issues with major appliances so quickly. I guess now I will be out money on another appliance the ventahood microwave. We purchased a brand new refrigerator that cost almost $12,000 from John's . We started having an issue with it and we called them out to come look at it cost us $150 to have them look at it and the technician said that they don't work on refrigerators or systems and he couldn't figure out what to do. They came out three times still without any repair. I don't trust these guys as far as I can throw them, don't buy from them. They just don't care about the initial sale and don't back up the products they sell. They refund our money so we are calling the credit card company and disputing the charge. read more

I purchased a new fridge and the water dispenser front of door did not work correctly, water came flying out all over. I called and they were supposed to call me back, never did. I called again to say for get it as we use bottle water anyway, but, asked to have someone come look at ice maker as it was freezing water under ice tray and I kept having to pull out and scrap out chucks of ice. The girl set it up, took two or three weeks to get someone out, and then got a call day of that they had to reschedule, they never did. I called a few weeks after that saying it stopped making ice all together and set another appointment that was several weeks out again. Once again after I took time off of work, I got a call the day of from a lady who said the repair guy had an emergency and has to reschedule, but, had to call me back when they had an available date. ONE month later she called back and was obvisoulsy having a bad day, she gave me a date for yet another few weeks out. The day before she called again to give me a time window of 11:00-5:00....I said a 5 hour window? I can't do that, I've never heard of more then a two hour window, she was very snippy and rude, told her forget it, I'd stop in the south Daytona store were I purchased and speak to someone, her reply, they can't help you in the store. I have purchased many appliances through Johns appliance, never again. Needless to say, after all the customers (yes, we are contractors in the remodeling business) I have sent to see John, I will never, ever recommoend or use this again. TERRIBLE attitudes, and even worse service. I hate to give reviews, but, feel compelled to put it our there in hopes John will have knowledge of what his customers have experienced. read more

So I want this to be a fair and honest evaluation of our experience with this business, both good and bad. 1. We had never done business with them before. We wanted high end appliances and frankly they have the best selection in town. Don't let the building exterior fool you. It did us for years. 2. We spent about $25K with them. The salesman at first appeared both knowledgeable and helpful. We later changed our view when he over promised, told us he would follow through and repeatedly failed to do anything. Later we also found out he lied as well when caught. 3. When we told longtime Daytona friends about our purchase, across the board they said "good luck." Great selection, lots of promises but expect poor service. 4. And multiple problems arose with delays, changed delivery dates and multiple and very annoying failures to communicate or even worse, repeatedly giving us conflicting information on delivery and installation matters. 5. To the positive. We ended up dealing with the owner's daughter and son. Her on scheduling and him on installation. Both were polite, understanding and very professional. 6. Installation was horribly difficult but NOT because of John's. I cannot give enough praise for the incredible job their team did. Most installers would have given up, they stuck with it and were absolutely incredible! Kudos all around! 7. The final straw was being told on the final install date we had to pay more than $200 for handles on a $12K refrigerator. Yep, no handles at all and this arises 5 months after we paid in full for our purchase. The salesman never said anything about buying handles and when confronted lied claiming we told him we had our own set to use! Everyone told us they knew he was not being honest and covering up. When I suggested they deduct the cost from his commission, I was told "we can't do that." So we paid. They did "waive" an additional installation charge to partially offset the clear mistake. 8. Along the way we also paid several hundred dollars to get an estimate for new countertops. The quote was $5K higher than other bids! When we told the John's salesperson we gave the contract to the other company, she said "Oh, we would have done the work for the same price!" While John's said the high estimate was from a subcontractor, clearly the price was inflated. So a mixed review. A 4 may be too high. The sole reason is the effort put in by the installers which was above and beyond! Otherwise an honest review would be a 2 or 3. We try to support local businesses and hope you will do the same. Just be aware and we hope this candid review helps you and John's as well. read more

I had a service request on my microwave. It was cheaper to replace it. I had no problems getting a replacement. The store credit for my old unit more than covered the cost of the replacement. I added a new warranty which was less expensive than the warranty I purchased before. The lady who helped me was so friendly, prompt, and helpful. Her name was Kelsey. Had a horrible experience with this company. Back in April I ordered a dishwasher and a microwave, I was told that the microwave would be in stock by June 1st. June came and went and still no microwave, the woman I worked with over there (Michelle) told me that if I cancelled then I would need to pay a restock fee, she then went on and kept ignoring my calls and texts. I called the store in July and told them that I could literally order off the Samsung website and have it delivered in two days for mess than what they were charging me. The person i spoke with finally allowed me to cancel that order, today I was FINALLY refunded after many calls later. I would stick to Home Depot, Lowes or ordering directly from the manufacturer as this company is not worth the headaches. read more

You arrived on time, with a smile, and checked out the area we were putting our new refrigerator, Microwave and Stove. Moe assured us all would fit through the front door without taking it off! They worked well as a team, Installed them quickly and explained some features as GE does not give you the physical instruction manuals anymore. Moe let us know we can get them online or by going into the PC store by getting a hard copies if we can't download them ourselves. Moe answered all our questions with the utmost respect. We were happy with the time and care they put installing them. We can't give a review on the appliances yet, but we were very happy with the 2 young men who delivered them. My wife and I purchased a new appliance set from John's. The set was delivered and the refrigerator was damaged. It took a few phone calls and several weeks for the part to come in. The guy showed up and they ordered the wrong part. He left and there was no communication with the company. Again a few phone calls and the part finally arrived 4 months later. The guy came and installed the part and left. There were missing parts that weren't put back on. Called John's and no one cared. We ended up having to order the missing parts ourselves and fixing it. My wife and I were just browsing and stopped in to take a look, we came upon a gem of a King mattress clearance item on the floor that was priced $500 less expensive than competitors. David the manager was very helpful and transparent about what might have happened and the steal of a deal it was. Ironically we bought the mattress and foundation and later on David came to discover a large tear in the mattress, so he gave us a free upgrade absolutely no charge. Until my most recent experience, I have recommended John's to numerous people but now it has become absolutely the WORST place to purchase a full complement of kitchen appliances. The salesman obviously wasn't listening when I explained the stove I was replacing (gas cooktop/electric oven) -and wanted the new one to be the same - what I got was a full gas unit - now I had to pay to have a 110V line run as the 'old' stove ran on a 220 line - they certainly did not offer to cover the electrician charge. The salesman kept saying I didn't ask for 'dual fuel'. How could I as I didn't know that was the terminology I was supposed to use. Every issue becomes the fault of the purchaser and not the store, salesperson or installer. The stove they delivered had to be reinstalled and the dishwasher started rocking side to side a couple days after installation. They sent the original installers back to fix the issues. First he tells me that I've had the appliances 6-8 weeks when I have the paperwork saying they were installed 2 weeks ago. and that I broke the dishwasher. Even now, the installation is incorrect and I'll have to pay someone to come in and fix it as their installers are less than stellar. Saddest issue of all, I purchased an LG washer and dryer from them with outstanding results so I returned for my kitchen replacements (LG refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and stove.). I have been unhappy with the appliances since day one but have to live with them as they are new and were a considerable investment. They did offer to change it out for a different package from a different manufacturer but I have always had good luck with LG. Buy your LG appliances from Lowe's, Home Depot, Best Buy or order from the LG website. read more

I purchased a GE washer for 790.00, I installed it myself. The washer had a 30 day return policy which stated Satisfaction guaranteed. The washer made loud noise all during the wash cycle it could be heard throughout the house and the lid would slam shut. I used the washer for 2 weeks before I could return it. I ordered a refrigerator and a stove and was quoted prices for installation. We then selected a date for installation. Nobody showed up for the installation. Upon rescheduling, the men who showed up to do the install didn't have the appropriate tools. The difference between the installation quote ($250) and the actual installation charge (&1200) was huge. Great service and nice prices. Make sure you check the scratch and dent area for big savings on the same products. Barbara has been there 18yrs and we have bought appliances from her in the past as well. They will deliver install and remove the old ones as well. We did upgrade to the braided stainless steel water lines for dishwasher and refrigerator as well as they do charge for the installation of the dishwasher but not the refrigerator or the stove. read more

I bought a GE refrigerator 2 years ago. The appliance moans and groans more often than not, and today I had yet another issue with the icemaker. I looked at my paperwork and the extended warranty (I NEVER buy these, but the salesman was very convincing). I know, shame on me for making that choice. Apparently, the extended warranty only covers the compressor. I felt a level of trust with the salesman (again shame on me), who kept saying that if the warranty wasn't used in 5 years, that I would receive 50% back of the $200. I spent. Welllll, apparently I should have definitely read this information in the store before I listened to him. The "warranty" states that I would be entitled to $100. store credit. If you choose to shop at John's, please read the fine print and be smarter than I was. Lesson learned. There will be more appliances purchased in my future, but I can confidently say "elsewhere"! The short version is that the customer service I experienced was CRAP. I asked about a specialty item and was told that they were new and the salesman did not know much about them. When the unit did not work AT ALL for what I needed, ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEY ALL had comments on how I should have known.... Seriously. Short version. They took restock fees and told me LG charges them. but later found out that LG was not charging them...all in all, they took over $400 from me and I had NOTHING from them. Randy was great at explaining their services and when he said they could install the following Monday, it was Thursday, I said sold. The installer was scheduled to be at our place by three. He called at 11:45 and ask if he could install it now, he was 10 minutes away. Joel did an excellent install and ran a test. We were good to go. I will be back for any other appliance purchase. Bought an LG washer dryer from the Daytona store. Joe (from Orange City) sold it to me, he operates like a car salesman - ask the manager this ask the manager that, but I got same day delivery arranged and I was pleased to be able to use them right away. I tried using the steam dry function on the dryer and recognized that the dryer wasn't connected to a water source, so I was unable to use this function. I call the store and ask why it wasn't installed and I get the run around, evidently I'm supposed to ask for it- why would you not expect to use all the features on an new appliance after you PAID for installation??? The dryer should have been installed to use all features!!!So he agrees to send someone out to install with an additional delivery charge! Not a great option but it's all he offered. He scheduled the install with me and then ghosted me!! No one came! I ended up ordering a hose on Amazon and getting a plumber to do the job that should have been done with the delivery! I actually need a new refrigerator but I'm committed to NEVER buying another thing from this business!! read more

I spent close to 40,000.00 dollars with this useless company. Took a year of fighting with them to replace defective range hood. Finally got that done along with the Thermador oven circuit board that was replaced as it was cutting off while cooking. STILL DOESN"T cook even. Called and called. Had them come out for the freezer repair. Was told it had to be replaced. IT'S BEEN MONTHS NOW THEY SAY I NEED TO CALL THERMADOR. Themador says they need diagnostic codes for the replacement. that Johns has to give them the info. Have a consult with attorney next week as I am done going back and forth with them. You don't spend that kind of money and get this kind of service. The place is a hole in the wall in the middle of crack town. I should have known better. Now I will have to spent around 10K to sue them. For me it's a matter of principle, so I will gladly pay it to make them take the junk they sold me back.
