I've driven/walked past this place for years growing up and never thought twice about going inside until a recent visit back home! So glad I did. The menu offering is extensive and it is a great place for both breakfast and lunch. They also have great hours (open 24 hours on Saturdays I believe) and extremely great prices for the food portions they offer! I'll definitely be back on my next visit home. I was pleasantly surprised when I came here for lunch and then back again for breakfast!

The combo meal is a great deal!

Good breakfast. The gyro omelet is sooo yummy and I love their fried breakfast potatoes. Great little gem in Maple Heights.

Good food, friendly staff. They were really missed during the Pandemic. This was our late night spot for years. John is the best!

The atmosphere felt genuine and community-driven. The food was the highlight-easily one of the most creative, thoughtful, and flavorful breakfast experiences I've had in the area in a long time. The originality of the dishes really stood out. The grits, in particular, were excellent-something that's surprisingly easy to get wrong, but they executed perfectly. One of the most impressive aspects was the takeout quality. I ordered a meal to go and didn't eat it until 15-20 minutes later, yet it still held up incredibly well-no reheating needed. That level of consistency is hard to achieve. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot to friends and colleagues. Overly obsessed with this place…read more I'm not local to Cleveland, but after reading all the amazing online reviews, I decided to bring my family here--and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is small, cozy, and intimate, but also incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and given menus. Our orders were taken quickly, and the service throughout our visit was absolutely outstanding. One thing that really stood out was the teamwork. Everyone helped each other, whether they were working in the front or in the kitchen. You could genuinely tell they cared about creating a great experience for every customer, and that level of hospitality is hard to find. Now for the food... wow. This is easily one of my favorite places I've eaten while visiting Cleveland. I ordered the steak breakfast bowl, and let me tell you--do yourself a favor and order it! The steak was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly, and every bite was delicious. We also ordered the butter croissant with bacon, which was a huge hit, and the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was absolutely phenomenal--crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly some of the best fried chicken I've had. Our only regret was not ordering extra chicken because we wanted even more! If you're looking for incredible food paired with exceptional service, this is the place. I truly hope this business is around for many years to come because every time I'm back in Cleveland, they'll definitely be seeing me again. Highly, highly recommend!

I met a friend for breakfast this morning, and everything from start to finish was spot on. I ordered the Sweet Jalapeño Sandwich: an English muffin piled with jam, bacon, an egg cooked over medium, and cheddar, served with home fries. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly. It looked incredible and, according to her, tasted just as good as it always does. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 8:00 and were seated right away. The service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt without feeling rushed. Scratch has such a great casual, local diner feel, but with a menu that's anything but ordinary. The portions are generous, the flavors are unique, and the quality is consistently excellent. Definitely a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch...you really can't go wrong here.

White walls, glass windows in front, a few things hung on the walls. Not fancy, but pleasant. Very clean. The food is phenomenal. I've been dreaming about their biscuits and gravy since my last visit. Still perfect. The home fry-style potatoes are what a lot of places try to serve but fail at miserably. They are crispy AND fluffy! Yum! My scrambled eggs were not at all greasy or oily. My iced tea was delicious and refreshing. My lovely wife had the chorizo hash, which I tried. Oh, my. So good. And the chipotle crema on top was just perfect. They have excellent diner coffee here as well. My service experience was immaculate the first time and just OK today. He was fine initially, but I feel like he kind of forgot about us after he checked on our food. We were stuck way in the back. Maybe he was on a break, which is fine. I spent time as a waiter in two different restaurants, so I'm sympathetic, but I did not get a drink refill, and I wanted one pretty badly. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and it feels like a hidden gem.

There were only 4-5 real parking spots so we had to park at the closed building next door. We came at around noon on a Sunday and waited close to 30min to get seated and put in our orders. Our server was super warm and friendly though so it made the wait more bearable. We ordered the country fried steak meal, veggie skillet and blueberry pancake meal. Portions were large, food tasted pretty good but it wasn't out of this world. Their ingredients were pretty basic; they don't use brioche or challah bread for their toast/French toast, no real maple syrup, only packaged jams, etc. I tried to order fresh squeezed orange juice but they were out. Despite the long wait, the service was great and we were happily full!

Ima sucker for good old fashioned customer service. The service alone would make me come back but baby the food. Let me give y'all my experience. Let me start. I saw a post on Facebook and thought to myself I would love to try this place. So one Saturday evening after attending Fevers Candlelight Tribute to Coldplay we decide to give it a try. When we arrived we wanted to know where to park, so we called the restaurant and one of the owners said he would come and valet our car for us! Total shock. We get inside and the vibe and the ambiance was amazing! There was a couple inside enjoying their date. The candles were lit and smelled fantastic by the way. It just gave my husband and I an overall relaxed feeling. The decor was beautiful and it reminded me of some of the great jazz spots in Washington DC. Alice's to be particular. The fireplace was lit and the design choices were carefully crafted. The husband (owner) did a great job of orating the history of the location and the contributions his parents made to both the US military and the local Dentistry community here in northeast Ohio. While the wife (Owner/Chef) did a terrific job of informing us of how the food would be prepared and what flavours and notes were present in each dish and how they would compliment each other. We just live a good cocktail and a story. Speaking of cocktails we tried the "Doli Stoli" a delicious cocktail made with Vodka and infused pineapple. Delectable. I did not eat the appetiser (allergy) which was the Chicken & Shrimp Gumbo consisting of a Rich roux trinity cajun spices and rice. I have to assume it was delicious since I didn't even get to take a picture because the husband was devouring it. I enjoyed the Zuppa Toscana; a tasty soup comprising of Rustic potatoes in savory parmesan broth with house turkey sausage & spinach. I wanted to ditch my manners and lick the bowl but I didn't. The husband enjoyed the Fish & Chips which was a delicious platter of Beer battered Cod filets, crispy fries & creamy slaw w/ house tartar sauce. I don't even know where to begin. Everything was so delicious and fresh. A true burst of flavour exploding in your mouth. I will say this the overall experience was other worldly, but you know the God was good when you get home with leftovers and eat everything without warming it up. Insane. This place is what this community needed. We have the gift of folk who are rooted in community, experts in their field, and actually love what they do and guess what; it shows in their food!

Old 70's & 80's soul music and soft ballads- Stevie Wonder was on while we were there-played continuously and softly. The food was filling without feeling heavy. What a great place to relax, spend time talking, eating, drinking, and listening to good music. It was an experience.
