    Philly cheesesteak quesadilla

What a pleasant find. I was born in Euclid 57 years ago and was in town for business. Needed a place to charge my car and this restaurant was in the parking lot. Had never heard of it before but from the reviews and the menu I decided to try it out. First of all, fantastic service. Second of all, it was packed, which tells me everybody else thinks it's great as well. We ordered a combination appetizer platter as well as a Philly cheesesteak quesadilla appetizer, which honestly was so stinking good! Then I had a meatloaf meal with a side of a potato pancake, which was pretty amazing. Top it off with an amazing carrot cake that they had brought in from a place called slice downtown. So good when I got home to eat it. Do yourself a favor, go here!

Greeted and sat quickly. Waitress came and took drink order right away. There is a large variety on the menu. From breakfast staples to numerous skillets to an awesome selection of basic to specialty hotcakes or waffles or French toast. Pleasant setting with multiples TV's on around the dinning room. Food arrived super fast. Everything was fresh, flavorful, cooked right and tasted great. Coffee and water was topped off regularly. The pricing was more than fair. Overall a very enjoyable breakfast.

I've lived in the area for almost 3 years and had no idea this place existed. But let me tell ya, do not pass up the opportunity to visit this gem! It's such a cute hole in the wall spot and the food is SO GOOD. The portion sizes are pretty massive so you'll probably have leftovers. The service was so fast that my friend and I looked at each other shocked when the food arrived. If you haven't already, give this place a try!

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. She ordered the chicken tenders and fries. The chicken was a HUGE serving that could've fed a family of four and it met her incredible standards for chicken, which rarely EVER happens! (Texture is her thing, and if the chicken is too stringy or there's a tendon or anything less than perfection, she WON'T eat it LOL) I had a house salad with a turkey sandwich, which came with avocado and cheddar. The salad was only $3 and so much bigger than I expected with a mix of lettuces, fresh shredded mozzarella, cucumbers and large slices of tomato! The sandwich was grilled, so the bread was perfectly crispy along the edges, the cheese was melted, the turkey was thick and didn't have that "lunch meat" look or taste, and it came with homemade chips. The service was attentive, and even though it's a diner (which I LOVE), it didn't really FEEL like a diner to us. I can't wait to go back so we can try some of the other items on their menu!

Food came to the table fast and was very tasty. Service was excellent! We didn't expect the pancake to be huge!

Fantastic service!!! We went her for breakfast twice during our visit and had the same waitress. She remembered us and was very kind and attentive. Never had to ask for more water or coffee. I had the pancakes combo both days - blueberry-banana-granola the first day and cinnamon swirl the second day. Noth excellent!! The combo adds scrambled eggs and bacon. The portions are huge - couldn't finish it either morning. The others had French Toast and a scramble and enjoyed them very much! We will definitely return if in the area!

Good food, good service, but prices are high and they're too cheap to turn on the heater, so wear your winter coat.

I was told by one of the waitresses that the old owner had come back & is going to add other foods to the buffet line whatever it is I can imagine it's going to be good, the only advice I'll give is that the tongues are very hot to touch if there's someway not too have them that hot, now would I come back you bet your bottom dollar I would...

Let me preface this review by saying I am a former restaurant/bar owner w/over 25 years hands-on…read moreexperience in the business. So it really requires a totally bad & unacceptable situation for me to post anything negative about a restaurant, as I know first-hand what a tough, grinding business it can be. But I also know that regardless of how difficult making a go of it is, there's a right way & a wrong way to treat customers. Apparently Sandy & Janet, the "Golden Girls" who are the new owners of what was formerly Flavors on the Vine in Eastlake, have NO clue. Let me share my experience. My wife & I have been semi-regulars at Flavors on the Vine since moving into Timberlake over 8 years ago. For the last year of its existence as Flavors, you could tell something was amiss as the food & service was on the decline. So when we heard a couple of former employees had purchased the business & were revamping the menu & the interior, we were excited. It was also nice to see that they kept a few of the better servers who had established connections with their customers. On Saturday, July 3rd we stopped in for breakfast. Lisa, who we knew from Flavors, was our delightful server. I ordered the Country Omlette with no modifications. My wife ordered the Greek Omlette & specifically asked to have both the feta cheese & green peppers left out. The food came quickly but my wife's omlette had the feta cheese in it as well as mushrooms (which were not listed as one of the ingredients in the Greek Omlette). My wife pointed this out to Lisa who cheerfully apologized & took it back for a remake. About 4 minutes later, she returned with a freshly cooked omlette- this time it again had the feta cheese, & now also had green peppers & mushrooms but was missing the supposed-to-be- included diced tomatoes. By now I was half finished with my meal & my wife, not being one to complain, insisted I not bring this second mistake to Lisa's attention. She took just a few bites & then asked Lisa for a to-go box. I again suggested I tell our server about the second mistake but she again did not want me to, saying she would feed it to our dogs who were in the car as we were headed out with them for the day. So Lisa brings us the check & my wife takes the to-go box out to the car. I head up to the register to pay the check & Lisa asks if everything was OK because she noticed my wife hardly touched her omlette. Now I had to say something & I explained what had happened with the second incorrectly made omlette. Lisa apologized profusely & said she was going to take my wife's Greek Omlette off the check--which was the right thing to do, especially since the kitchen made not just one mistake, but two on the same order. But before she could do so, she had to get the approval from one of the owners (I believe it was Sandy) who was in the kitchen. Lisa printed out the check & it clearly showed she had input the order correctly specifying NO cheese, NO peppers-nowhere did it say to add mushrooms or hold the diced tomatoes. Lisa showed the owner the check proving it was not her ordering mistake but the kitchen not paying close attention to the orders coming in to them. I watched Lisa & the owner converse back & forth for about 4 minutes (yes, I timed it! Lisa comes back & asks me "where's the omlette?" I told her my wife was feeding it to the dogs in the car. So she goes back to the kitchen, explains this to the owner who turns around, looks at me standing at the register then turns back around & converses in a highly animated manner for another 2 minutes with Lisa. So Lisa returns to the cashier stand & tells me she can't take the omlette off the check unless I bring it back in, which by this time of course, I could no longer do as the dogs had eaten it. I asked her why & she said "that's what the owner said--she wants to see it" which made me feel as if I was being called a liar or just looking for a freebie. I was fuming on the inside by now &had my wife not been there, would have made quite a scene for all the customers to watch & hear. But I remained calm, polite & asked Lisa what the owner would do with the omlette had I been able to bring it back in. She said it would have been thrown in the trash. By now Lisa was feeling very uncomfortable about the entire ordeal, apologized again for not being able to do the right thing & deduct the omlette from the check. I smile politely paid the entire check & still gave her a 20% tip, turned around and left. That was the last time we will ever set foot in Golden Girls. The owner may have pocketed the $8.99 price of the omlette but her foolish, greedy, stupid, insulting & completely wrong actions cost her at least $1,000 in lost revenue just from us over the course of a year. And who knows how much more revenue she will never see walk through the doors from people who read this & stay away. With an owner who treats customers like dirt instead of like gold, I won't be surprised if Golden Girls become Broke Girls.

I frequently long for a restaurant with homestyle meals. That type of meal seems long forgotten…read more Like a proper meal with potatoes and bread (that's my Eastern European soul speaking). Joe's Avenue Eatery excels at this serving hearty soups, roasts, meatloaf, chicken paprikash, and other hearty dishes. I've visited the restaurant after my first time years ago. I should have returned sooner, dinner was so delicious. AMBIANCE: The place feels like you're dining in someone's spacious kitchen while watching TV (college sports). The place is simple, vintage but somehow very homey. It's great for dining solo and in groups. Various seating options like tables and booths are available. The crowd tends to be older. The people who dine here actually look at each other and not their phones. The multi course meal makes you also slow down and properly enjoy dinner. FOOD: The menu has multiple pages of meals that would appeal to any taste. They have all day breakfast, seafood, sandwiches, stir fry, pastas, burgers, wraps, soups, and more. Everything that I tried on the menu is really good and tastes homemade. My most recent order was Fork Tender Pork Roast Dinner ($16.99). The meal is a fantastic value. It comes with a side, veggies, bread roll, one visit to the salad and soup bar, free dessert (if you dine in). I first visited salad and soup bar selecting chicken soup from two options (the other was veggie). The soup was perfectly hot but at the end of the pot (not much chicken). It still tasted homemade and hearty. Pork roast was one of the best pot roasts I've ever tasted, meat was perfectly tender. Gravy was just delicious and plenty. The roll was still warm. Mashed potatoes were a bit chunky but that added to their homestyle charm. The entire meal just made me so warm and cozy. I took about half of my meal to go, it was pretty big serving. But really it's because I wanted to leave room for my favorite dessert - spumoni ice cream. I think of this ice cream often. It's served with whip cream, chocolate drizzle, and contains very tasty nuts. I can't wait to eat the rest of my meal at home. The eatery has plenty of specials for weekends and weekdays. If you dine between 2-5 PM on Monday-Thursday, you can get $11.99 meal. That includes tasty options like Grilled Pork Chop, Beef Liver & Onions, Polish Sausage with Pepper and Onions, and others. I really enjoyed Beef Liver & Onions. I miss a good place the can prepare liver as an Eastern European. Amazingly even $11.99 meal includes a trip to salad and soup bar. SERVICE: The service was top notch especially considering that the dining floor was served by two waitresses. My waitress Lisa was so attentive to all customers and so pleasant. Honestly five star service. I look forward to the next meal here and already re-reading the menu to plan my next hearty dinner. I saw Chicken Paprikash on their weekend specials list on the way out. I'm a huge chicken paprikash addict so it might be my next meal. I highly recommend checking out this eatery with your family for a homestyle meal and meaningful conversation.
