Visited The Oak Barrel for dinner recently. When we arrived, it was quiet and empty, which was ideal. When we were seated, our waitress brought us some cold water in glasses and gave us menus. I felt like trying some bourbon, so I requested Larceny. There were a lot of tasty looking options on the menu, but I ultimately settled on salmon. My wife requested cod, and my son requested the rib dinner. The ambience of the place was nice. The waitress was friendly and there was a car show outside, which was cool. It didn't take long for our food to be cooked. My fish was hot off the grill, had a wonderful crispy finish, and was cooked to my specification. The salmon was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes it was served on. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. I was craving more. Everyone enjoyed their meals and with great service, we agreed that this could be a place we visit when we're in the area. Great stuff! read more

I went to this location with coworkers for our Employee Appreciation Dinner and I had the wings.. I really did like them. They're delicious. Also, there is a slight "kick" but definitely bearable. The calamari was good as well. We sat on the patio and regretfully, I didn't go inside (too full) but overall, I'm willing to visit again as I stay relatively close. read more

We came about 45 minutes before they were about to close and the staff was great, they were super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very inviting, was spacious and just overall very tastefully decorated. I rarely go into a restaurant right before closing time, but we had just flown in from Las Vegas and were tired and hungry!! My meal was the Dr Pepper pork shank, and it was fantastic!! The only drawback was the potatoes surrounding the pork was like warm at best. If it was hot it would have been even better. The other guy got the bbq pork which was very good. Three of us enjoyed a weekday lunch here. Huge servings- we enjoyed all the food. We were the first ones there when they opened so no tables were taken- a bit disappointed to be seated at a drafty table (cold air everytime the front door opened) that was also rocking and unsteady. They attempted to stabilize the rocking table when we brought it to their attention but it didn't help. They probably should have just relocated us, given we were the only table seated. Aside from these concerns, the burger was perfectly cooked. The onion rings were good- a bit too much batter. The sides of fries and Mac and cheese were large and tasty. Our server was a self-described "foodie" and her recommendation of the "best ribs in Cleveland" was 100% spot-on--these baby backs were the best ribs I've had in many a year. However, the beer menu was full of IPAs and not really enough other options so that those of us who don't want sour with our sweet ribs could avoid them. The "foodie" also said she loved nearly everything on the menu, which seems unlikely, right? Still, if a cozy atmosphere and great ribs is on your bucket list, enjoy! Definitely would round up to 3.5. Solid and serviceable for what it is, but nothing amazing. We had onion rings, charcuterie board and a pretzel to start. Pretzel is fine, charcuterie board was pretty sizeable and had a good selection, the onion rings were actually really amazing and surprised me! Entree, I had the shrimp tacos but swapped out lettuce wraps. These were grilled shrimp and very tasty! Came with nice salty chips, pico, and guacamole, which was a little brown but all had decent flavor. Wish it had come with a salsa. Other had the turkey burger, we've had pizzas and barbecue in the past and enjoyed. Fries are pretty solid here too. Service was good on this occasion, not a super busy night but it can still get pretty loud, and we've had inconsistent service over the times we've been here. read more

My wife and I were in the area for the night and stopped for dinner on a Saturday. They were typical busy for a weekend and we got a table within 30 minutes. This restaurant was visually appealing and looked like a lodge or large cabin. Our server was friendly and recommended a few popular entrees. I took our server up on one of his suggestions, the pulled pork open face. Our food came out in a fair amount of time and looked good. My wife ordered the salmon and she said it was good. The pulled pork was on top of a jalapeno cornbread, and was covered on covered in BBQ sauce and topped with slaw. the problem was a BBQ sauce. the sauce tasted very bitter and over powered all of the other flavors. It was like the pork had been soaking in the sauce in a pot all day and the sauce was over cooked. I was not able to taste the slaw or the cornbread, which was pretty disappointing. I would go back to the Oak Barrel, but I would definitely order something different. read more

Another fantastic experience! I don't even care much for ribs, but these are amazing! Fries were hot and crispy! Shrimp tacos were delish as well. Service was fabulous as I couldn't decide and I wanted to order so many different things. We sat in the bar which had a fun atmosphere with all the televisions. I love sitting outside, but it had just stormed. My suggestion (per the server) is order the coleslaw without the arugula. She also suggested upgrading the fries to truffle. My son chose this place for his Bday. My husbands Cuban was so small and only 2 thin pieces of meat. He didn't bother eating it. Total waste of money. Thankfully my club was big and pretty good. I gave him half of mine and he just left his there. My son's waffles and chicken tasted good but chicken was small for the high price. They didn't put the powdered sugar or butter on it. And then took forever to bring out more syrup. The truffle fries was probably the hit of the table. Very expensive lesson learned. Despite being really busy, we were sat fairly soon and the food came out impressively fast! Our server was so nice (even though the had a HUGE party table he was also waiting on), very kind to us. The food was very good! One of my favorite flavors is lemon, and so I really enjoyed the strong citrus taste of my pasta. My first time at this establishment and I've been bragging about my visit to everyone about our food, our waitress and the ambiance of this place. After a movie we decided to go here because my cousin and her husband suggested. Also keep in mind that we arrived an hour prior to restaurant closing and still received superb service. I believe our waitress name was Kelly. Waitress took her time to give suggestions since we were first timers. My guy had the brisket sandwich which was phenomenal. My cousin had the chicken and waffles which she says keeps her coming back everytime for more. I had the potato and bacon soup which was delish as well as the clubhouse sandwich. I want to go back for the same items but I am also excited to try more items that sounded so tasty. This place has me in a chokehold and I will def be back. read more

The burger is a good, classic burger. The chicken and waffles were filling. My brother elected for two chicken pieces so he has leftovers! If anything was a negative, the vegetable sides had A LOT of lemon and or salt. A bit too much this time for mom and dad. The overall ambiance was really fun. Everyone seemed to be having a good time with their respective drinks and entrées. I found myself watching wheel of fortune and could've won big if I was a contestant that show! Great attentive service. We had apps dinner and dessert. My new favorite is anything fried in duck fat! We started with duck fat popcorn and pomme frites - again fried in duck fat. It had shaved Parmesan cheese on top with ketchup and herbed mayo. Plenty for four people. I followed this with lettuce wrapped tacos. Being taco Tuesday I was able to mix up my choices. I had one shrimp, one chicken and one carnitas. The shrimp was my favorite but they were all awesome. We followed this with the flourless chocolate cake with four spoons.
