Fantastic chivito sandwich loaded with steak, ham, cheese, egg, lettuce, and tomato on a soft hoagie. Steak and eggs were perfectly cooked too. The chorizo burrito was super stuffed and greasy good. Great little comfort breakfast spot.

Chelo's is the kind of place that the customers all know the staff name. Its not a big place, and certainly not fancy. But if you are looking for good food, great service and a place you feel like coming back too, time and time again, this is that place. We got the breakfast quesadilla and meat lovers omelet. The portions are always large. The omelet comes with your choice of toast, which we get heavily buttered. You can get a variety of sides and the corned beef hash is pretty good, but today I went with a side of sausage gravy. Everything was great.

This was such an amazing find via Google during my recent trip to Cleveland. Perfect classic diner vibes with amazing service, and even more amazing food. I had the southern skillet and my boyfriend had the Country Boy. Both were amazingly large portions, well seasoned and an all around perfect breakfast to start the day off with. I can't wait to come back to Cleveland and try more dishes off the menu!

A few months ago, my dad brought home an omelet from Chelo's and after tasting it, it was only right that I dine in. Chelo's was busy for breakfast but the servers maneuvered through, taking dine in and takeout orders in a timely fashion. They turned tables over quickly and the food came out way more quickly than I expected with the rush. Even with the quick turnaround, I was not disappointed. The food was hot and extremely fresh. The omelet was perfectly seasoned and loaded with veggies and cheese. I highly recommend upgrading to the loaded hash browns, they were delicious and loaded with onions, peppers, and cheese. The inside of the diner is simple, with decor showing the history of Cleveland as well as the roots of the owner. It's not a huge restaurant but it stays packed for good reason. I will definitely be back again.

Great food. Very good service. Some unusual menu items which is cool. A little slow but worth it if you have the time. I come on the weekends.

Nice first time visit.....friendly hostess to start. Not a huge place , but enough room for diners not to feel cramped. Nice selection of breakfast items to choose from. I ordered the meat lovers omelet and it was very tasty. The cheddar cheese made this magic. A bowl of grits and wheat toast. I'm happy with this visit and will come back again!!

We have visited Tropical Bay about 3x past 2 weeks or so…read more 1st time: Our waitress was Janayla. It's the first time we have ever seen her, she is new. What a great addition to the team. She was so professional, respectful and you can really see she loves working with people, all smiles, very attentive and helpful. 2nd time: We are on our way to visit family, we asked if they wanted something to eat. We sent them a link to their website menu, and they texted their order. This time we ordered front in the front. Wilson one of the owners was taking our order. That man gets dressed with patience in his sleeves... lol. He was so good to us as we were trying to get everyone's orders right. 3rd time: Today August 22, 2026 - My husband asked me what do you want for lunch as we were driving back from Ukraine Parade in Parma. I said nothing, not hungry. He said what about Tropical Bay! He knew I would change my mind. This time Joelys took care of us. She's been there ever since we started going. Wonderful young lady and I know she's been rightfully going up the ranks at the restaurant and given more responsibility. She does a great job! Already knows what I order and all the intricacies. She's always happy to see the customers. Through every visit if the owners are there, especially Diana she makes it a point to come see us and takes a few minutes to say hello. They are salt to this earth wonderful, hardworking people. My favorite: Fried Pork with Tostones - I love all their food but I'm Latina so I make all these foods, I don't make the pork bites and tostones. These are melt in your mouth. My husbands: Tri Fongo with Shrimp, Cuban Rice, Rice and Bean The food I took my guest that they loved, Beef Pastelillos/Empanadas, Dominican Chicken, Butter Chicken, Puerto Rican Rice and Beans The place looks so cute and celebratory. Music playing, the Tropical Feeling, it's so nice. You will not be disappointed. I have severe food allergies and this is the only place I trust with my life.

For food, we shared two appetizers and honestly could have made a meal out of them. The Dominican Flag was incredible: crispy fried plantains, perfectly melty fried cheese, Dominican salami and smoky longaniza, all topped with pickled red onions that added the perfect zing. Every bite was packed with flavor and felt like true comfort food. We also loved the Loaded Yuca Balls; crispy golden yuca stuffed with cheese and topped with roasted pineapple, jalapeños, sour cream, and bacon. The combination of sweet, spicy, cheesy, and savory was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Quintaesencia was great to work with in June 2026 at accommodating our large group of 21 women, providing is with ample space, a dedicated server, and even making separate checks for all of us. To the surprise of no one, I love South American food. Okay, I like most ethnic cuisines, if not all, but I really love foods like arepas, chimmichuri steak, asado, empanadas, etc! I looked at the menu ahead of time and settled on some faves of mine, arepas and yucca fries, but others in the group ordered a variety of dishes amd drinks, all of which were delicious! I stuck with water as my beverage because the cocktails/mocktails were a bit too pricey for me. I ordered the trio arepas ($18) and a side order of yucca fries ($5), which were very filling and sprinkled with cheese. I liked my meal a lot although I would like to see a few more types of arepas offered on the menu. Our server, Valeria, was absolutely amazing and served our party of 21 women quickly and efficiently. There was a 3% card usage fee as well as an automatic 20% gratiuiy for parties of 6 or more, so after paying with card, my total bill was $30.54. I left full and happy and hope to come back again to try their other dishes, particularly their pizzas and a creative cocktail or two.

Very sadly, I just saw that the two other locations are closing immediately, just 1 day after our Valentine's Day dinner at the Larchmere location - now officially, the only one left standing. The Lakewood Barroco was in my top 5 favorite restaurants in all of Cleveland and I am super bummed. I hope this last location will stay open for a very long time. As for the Barroco food, it was superb. We went all out and tried a few things on the menu. We aren't big drinkers but I sipped on a strawberry mojito with lots of real strawberries throughout ($14) and my bf enjoyed the "Iguana," a pretty little rum cocktail ($12). We shared the shrimp device and tostones appetizer ($18). The tostones reminded me of a structurally sound latke, or potato pancake! Our shrimp ceviche was doused in lemon juice and mixed with lots of healthy vegetables. This was large enough to be an entree for a healthy eater! However, we still had lots of room in our tummies and we each got our own main dish. I stuck to the arepa and yucca fries combo I love so much, although I switched it up and ordered a different arepa than my usual. I liked my "Ropa Vieja," or braised beef arepa ($22), fine but I prefer my usual pulled pork arepa much much more. The braised beef arepa was like a sloppy Joe in an arepa. Made for pretty good leftovers though! My beloved was feeling adventurous and treated himself to a nice and fatty cut of the Carne Asada and Calentado entree ($38). After tax and tip, our bill was a hefty $130 for the two of us. I'd say that the food, the service, and the ambiance made it worth it though and I hope it continues to stay open so we can come back!!
