I live downtown where there's a bike repair shop 2 blocks away. However I decided to support Black business & go to the south side to have my bike tuned up. Firstly I don't think they did a tune up at all ($90). I believe they only fixed the problem that I pointed out which was a bent rear rim. Secondly when I picked up my bike I had an additional issue not present when I dropped it off. My seat was quite loose which I didn't discover until I arrived at a bike trail. (If I had read the reviews I would have seen that another customer experienced this issue.) Had that repaired by another bike shop ($0). Recently I went to a hilly bike trail. I speed down the decline to coast over the hills like a roller coaster. I was going really fast & hit my brake. Absolutely nothing happened. I hit my other brake. Same. I had to stop like Fred Flintstone almost twisting my ankle or worse. I could have been killed if that occurred approaching an intersection. Took my bike to the repair shop up the street & my bike is riding better than ever. What makes this even worse is that there's a sign in the shop espousing, encouraging the use of Black businesses. Chastising language if you don't. (I took a picture but can't find.) I will never patronize this particular Black business ever again. Words & actions contradictory. read more

Do NOT take your bike here. This place is a joke! I took my bike and my boyfriend's bike here for tune ups. Additionally we needed to adjust the seat on my boyfriend's bike and get his tires trued. There was a $90 charge and a three day turnaround (which I thought was very reasonable). When I returned to pick up the bikes, my bike was now squeaking and the seat on the other bike would not stay in place ( it was like they stripped the screw that keeps the seat in place). The gentleman did not tell me about any of the issues with the bikes, they just let me pick them up. When I returned 10 minutes later, they told me that my tires now needed to be trued, and my boyfriend needed a new seat. I did not purchase the new seat but I did let them keep my bike to true the tires. When I returned the following weekend to get my bike, it was worse than it was before. It was still squeaking but now, they gave it to me with a flat tire, and suddenly my chain seemed extremely loose. When I took it back into the store to tell them about the issues, they told me that that's the way the bike is supposed to be. They claimed that my tires were performance tires and did not need to be inflated a lot. After approximately 20 minutes of back-and-forth debating with the guy at the counter; I chalked it up as a loss. This place and experience was $130 lesson learned. These people have no idea what they're doing when it comes to bicycle repair and maintenance. They should stick to selling hardware supplies. read more

This store is dirty and extremely disorganized. The customer service is terrible. I brought my bike in for a broken chain and have been waiting three weeks for repair. I was told they had to order the part. The staff are not professional and will not call me with updates. I have to call every few days to get another estimate/lie. It has been three weeks and I'm still waiting. I was trying to support a black owned business but I regret that decision. I'm vert disappointed! read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Intentionally went out of my way to support this small, Black owned business and it was a horrible decision. Took my son's brand new bike in to be assembled, what was promised to be a 5 day job turned into a nearly month long headache! Nothing but excuses and horrible customer service! Do Not under any circumstances use John Stallworth for remodeling work. I got ripped off and he refused to return the down payment for work that he never performed. After months of letters and phone calls I finally had to report a consumer fraud complaint and take him to court. Save yourself the aggravation and money and go elsewhere! read more

John doesn't get it. Perhaps he should let his sons really really run the business of remodeling. He thinks it is the customers responsibility to follow up and get appointments arranged. I think he hung on me when I was talking to him about a miscommunication because he just stopped talking while on the phone. It went silent. read more

John never showed up...and the only excuse he could offer me was " It slipped my mind". darn the fact that he had my whole day on lock down by waiting on him.
