Small shop in an older strip mall. I had several knives needing to be sharpened. This normally this takes a few days as it's a drop off pick up service. He offered to do it while we waited so we took him up on it. There's plenty of kitchen eye candy to keep you occupied. The shop is an authorized dealer for several brands of high quality knives such as Shun and kitchen supplies at better than expected prices. So good I had to grab a set of Changshan knives with blue handles. I've waited to write this review until I've used every knives sharpened. They do excellent work and I'll be back. read more

The customer service is great and they will even text you when they are ready to be picked up...usually a couple of days depending on how busy they are. Took a combination of kitchen knives ( Zwilling Pro ~ $1k ) and my EDC pocket knife ( Benchmade Casbah ~ $230 ). Owner tossed all knives haphazardly in a pile ( I had reservations but didn't say anything initially ). Upon receipt of the knives, all kitchen knives had a combination of light grind marks and scratches along the flat from careless handling. The pocket knife had the tip ground off and blunted ( basically turned a drop point into a tanto ). A lot of metal will have to come off to fix this mistake. Everything was sharp...no issues there, however I'll need to find another sharpener to restore the blade on the EDC. Tried to have a civil discussion with the owner and he kept pushing to refund instead of fully understand the issue. Very unreceptive to criticism or improvement. Kept repeating "I've never seen this before". Not sure what the issue is but will not return. read more

This is a great store and John is very friendly. John's service is excellent. I took in my lawn mower blade to get sharpened after 3 summers, which, by the way, was way too long to wait. I cannot believe how sharp the blade was when John was done and how much better the blade cut. It made a world of difference when using the mulching blade on my lawn. I was so impressed with the work John did that a few days later I brought in my main kitchen knives and what a difference the sharpening made when carving and slicing. Based on how well everything has been sharpened, I plan on having my items sharpened on a regular basis now. Good job in a hard-to-find service I had two Henckels paring knives that had become dull. Took them to another service last year and that guy made them worse. John's brought them back to life again and restored their cutting ability. We took 8 knives to John's Sharpening service. This is a pretty non-descript location, so look closely as it's in a tiny row of stores off Ogden Avenue. Anyhow, he did a great job. He had told us that we could wait and he'd have them done in a half hour, but we decided to exit and return later. When we picked them up, our knives were carefully wrapped to prevent them from scratching each other. His prices were very reasonable, and the blades are now cutting better than when we first bought these knives. I had originally been thinking to purchase a knife sharpener tool, but considering the low cost and great job performed by John, we'll just keep coming back. read more

John sharpened my dozen knives while I waited so I didn't have to make another trip to pick them up. (I live over 10 miles from his shop.) My Cutco knife had a broken tip that he fixed. That was a nice surprise. All the knives are performing well. And talking about above and beyond... I didn't realize until I got home that we had missed my pizza cutter which had been sitting off to the side of his work area so I called to let him know.
