Unfortunately due to water and environmental conditions the bottom rusted and leaked, necessitating replacement. Abt could not have been more helpful, in this time of need. The Abt office (Nathan) immediately and fully addressed the situation. The Abt plumbers delivered fast and truly excellent replacement with a new Reliance 50 gallon hot water heater and installed all the necessary copper pipe, valves and fittings---including full labor at no charge. The plumbers (Russell Cartwright and Tyler Fite) installing the unit were very meticulous and highly competent in every detail. They also were extremely helpful and courteous. I have used Abt exclusively for over forty years and recommended their products and service to numerous other home owners--no one has been disappointed. Their appliances and equipment are always top quality but their service and commitment to stand behind and service these products is both outstanding and exemplary. I called Greg's about repairing a broken front-wheel drive cable on a Toro Recycler. I was told over the phone it could be repaired and that it was a simple fix. When I got the mower back nearly three weeks later, I was hit with a bill for $310 and change, more than half the cost of a new mower, same make and model. The bill included several miscellaneous charges that I never authorized. Nor was I ever contacted about whether I wanted those additional services performed. The additional charges: oil change, new spark plug, air filter, blade sharpening, and new wheels. When I take my car into be serviced for one problem and the mechanic finds an additional problem, I am contacted and asked whether I want the additional work performed, and I get a cost estimate. No assumptions are made about what I am willing to pay for. In this case, if I had known the total cost of the repairs to be done, I would've declined having them done and looked into a new mower. Granted, Greg's did reduce the bill by $50 after I expressed my displeasure with their lack of professionalism, but the repair costs are still slightly more than half the price of a new mower. When using Greg's be sure to get a cost estimate up front and spell out the work to be done.

I'm writing this review today because I have never successfully received any services from them and I think that says a lot about their level of customer service. So, as a disclaimer, I cannot talk about how good or bad their services are, or how reasonable or unreasonable their prices are. All I can say is that it is, as far as I can tell, impossible to get them to come to my house in the first place. Incident #1 - my sewage pipe was leaking into my kitchen through the ceiling. The toilet would not flush. I have a one bathroom house, so this is my only toilet. I called on a Monday and they told me no one could even come look at it until Friday. So I said "no thank you" because I can't really go all week without a working bathroom. Incident #2 (a few weeks later) - we got the toilet working again temporarily, but we needed a larger fix to repair the underlying issue. Part of the sewage pipe needed to be replaced and I had a plumber to fix it but I wanted to get another quote to be sure I wasn't getting ripped off. I called and asked for a plumber to come give me an estimate. I was told a plumber would call me back to schedule. I never heard back from them, so I went ahead with the repair with someone else. Incident #3 (two weeks ago) - we have had some basement flooding issues and are looking to install a sump pump or put in some other basement flood prevention. I called and explained what I was looking for. The woman who answered said that she would have a plumber call me to schedule. I mentioned that my husband and I both work full time and we would need the appointment to be either in the evening after 5:00 or on a weekend. She said that the plumbers "might be able to accommodate my request" and she would have them call me. It has been two weeks and they have never even attempted to contact me. I feel that overall I have given Theisse plenty of opportunities to redeem themselves and they just keep proving to me over and over that they really don't want my business. So instead of using the plumber who is two blocks away, I will be using the plumber from 10 miles away who answers his phone on the first call, listens to my problem and offers suggestions, and then offers to come out to my house after 6:00pm.
