I'm really impressed with the folks I worked with! Carolann helped us come up with a solution that fit our budget and Czar and his crew were amazing - they worked so hard and put in a ton of work to make sure the job was done well. I was really impressed. You know what's really cool? After all of the digging and sump install they started laying the new vapor barrier but they did so without their shoes! They removed their shoes outside before going down into the crawlspace once the new plastic went down. It just shows they take great pride in their work. After just buying our house the last thing we wanted to find was water in our crawlspace. We're do-it-yourself folks but this job was more than we wanted to tackle on our own (and the stakes were too high). It was really nice to find a company that specializes in this type of work. They answered all of our questions and gave us lots of options: bare minimum to cadillac. We worked with them and did some of the work ourselves to get the work into our price range. This is almost our one year anniversary with our crawlspace/basement combination system in place and we are completely sold on the process and the results. The musty odor is finally gone and my wife's sneezing and coughing are now just in the springtime when the cottonwoods are blooming. Never realized she was allergic to the mold. Heating bills dropped by a good bit too, which was a big bonus. Had a few issues with the pump not coming on and found out is was a bad circuit breaker and not the pump. Had the alarm on the pump go off and thought the system had failed, but it turned out that there was a toilet tank leaking in our guest room and it triggered the alarm. Thank goodness for that as we never would have known we were getting flooded. Fixed it with minor clean-up from Servicemaster. Their crew was very diligent in keeping the debris and dust contained as my wife is such a neatnik. Very polite and helped explain everything throughout the week they were here. We have been customers of John's for about five years. We have a problem basement that already had a sump pump when we bought the house 17 years ago. At one point that pump failed, and we had 5-6 inches of water in the basement and a lot of misery. Even after replacing the pump, whenever it rained, we were anxious, and with good reason. We tried external drainage solutions, which did not work. Finally, we got in touch with John's and had them install a perimeter drain all around our basement and a new large sump pump with a battery backup. It was worth every penny. We have only had a couple of small issues come up since then, which Caleb has promptly solved in the most effective way and at reasonable cost. He is always knowledgeable and a real pleasure to work with. The office staff including Marisol and Maureen are very helpful and responsive. We have a great deal of peace of mind, knowing John's has fixed our problem and will come out promptly with solutions should concerns arise in the future. read more

I discovered water in my crawlspace and found out that a city water main had broken for who-knows-how-long resulting in significant damage to the crawlspace including rot at the base of posts holding up the house! John's sent out an inspector (Vinny) and he scheduled the repair job for the next day which was a Saturday! The crew worked over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and repaired everything so that it was like new. Hard to believe I could get the work done so fast, and over a weekend no less. The crew also installed a new outdoor drainage system which was sorely in need of an upgrade from what the previous owners had installed. I now have to see if I can get the city to cover some of the repair costs since it was a break in the city's water main that caused all the damage. Vinny took multiple videos which we can share with the city to show the damage. In addition to Vinny, Tim did a great job with the outdoor drainage system. After some research, we called Johns Waterproofing for an estimate. When Jake Bilyeu came he went into the crawl space, took pictures, explaining each situation and showed where mice were coming in (yikes). Jake is knowledgeable with the whole process flow which helped seal the deal. Forward nine months and we're ready for the anniversary inspection. Past winters were very cold in the house especially in the bedroom. Since the encapsulation, it's not been as cold and we haven't had to turn up the heat as much. And no smell and no more mice from the crawl space. Had a french drain / sump pump system put in the crawl space. They showed up and worked for 7 hours with no breaks in extremely cramped conditions to make sure the job got done.
