I was delighted when my husband called and told me the plumber would be here before noon on New Year's Eve. I expected it to cost a small fortune, but I was just grateful someone could help. They arrived and had the problem fixed very quickly. (This was the first time in 18 years of homeownership that we've ever had to call a plumber so I really didn't know what to expect. I have heard some horror stories from others, so I was anxious about the process.) The bill was exceptionally reasonable, especially considering it is so close to a holiday. Was told he would be at house from in specific time ranges and he never showed. After I would contact him I would always get the excuse there was "another emergency" I get that however when you schedule a time and make sure you are there or at least I should expect a courtesy call so I'm not stuck in house waiting all day. At some point I would think a plumber would at least inform me that they only take emergency calls. I can only guess that he makes more money on these emergency calls and doesn't want my business. Maybe he waits for non-emergency work to become emergencies so he can charge more? Maybe it is just incompetent business practice or lack of organisation? I don't know but I won't know because he simply doesn't show! After 3 days "emergency call" excuses are just that. An excuse. Honestly how long would it take him to quote my project? 30 min max and our home is about 10 min. away from P.G. And easy to get to. Unfortunately I can't rely on this plumber and will be seeking another.
