I used Johnson Plumbing about 15 years ago and was very pleased with everything. Very polite, professional, and great price. Everything you could want. This experience was just the opposite of that. We were doing reno to our basement and had them replace a shower valve, which we provided. We also gave them the tub spout we were going to use so they could make sure the copper tub spout line was the right length. They had to get under our house (full height, not a crawl space, with a doorway under the deck behind the house) to access the shut-off valve, then left the door wide open when they left. I never checked it until almost 2 months later when I noticed how much our furnace was running when temps got down to the mid 30s at night. Thanks to them, we could have very easily had frozen pipes under the house if I hadn't checked when I did. In less than an hour, they installed the shower valve along with about 4 feet of PEX tubing, 18 inches of copper tubing without checking the length for the tub spout line, left our door open to the elements, and charged my wife $500 (actually $550, but they gave her a 10% discount). About the only good thing I can say about this experience is that the shower valve works (that's why they got 2 stars instead of 1). Everything else was sloppy and unprofessional. Because of my previous experience with Johnson Plumbing, I made this appointment without getting a quote from them or shopping around for plumbers. Never again. read more

I was experiencing block pipes...they came out, put a snake down my sink drain and said their was not any blockage...two days later continued blockage, I called again...this employee said I need plumbing underneath kitchen sink replaced and an air vent. I said I already have an air vent and he totally ignored me. Charged me for a small valve under the sink and left...Pipes still blocked and I have already paid them for work they did not accomplish. I would not reccommend this company to anyone having plumbing problems. And, they are way overpriced! read more

Johnson has been to my house this year. In January they had to.install a new water line from the meter to house. But they went above and beyond to install a shutoff valve just inside the crawl space door. Last week they installed a sump pump behind my house to prevent flooding - and it's already been used! When I talked to the plumber by phone was got an attitude, roughly tossed my wife's cell phone at her and stormed out of our house slamming the door. My disposal was leaking so I called these guys up based on good google reviews. I wasn't home at the time he looked at it, so talked to the plumber on the phone and he told me it was broken, but that he had a insinkerator badger 5 in his truck, which was the best on the market and could be installed for $275. I trusted him and said go ahead. I then looked up the Insinkerator Badger 5 online and not only did I find it for $73-$100, this particular model is the next-to-most basic that Insinkerator produces and gets mediocre reviews everywhere. It was too late to cancel my order so I called Johnson and asked how they got off calling this "the best on the market" and charging what amounts to $175 for a markup and hour of labor, and he told me that no, insinkerator was the best BRAND on the market, and that they were not referring to this particular model. Also he would not give me a breakdown of the $275, and started telling me how they had to charge a lot because people mistreat their disposals, putting all kinds of junk down there, and then want replacements under warranty- which had nothing to do with my situation, it was just weird. I like doing business with local companies and understand that there a markup over Amazon or Lowes inherent in that, but I did not expect to get gouged so readily, and the service on the phone was really disappointing. I had given them the go ahead without doing my research, so I'm just eating the extra money as a 'lesson learned', but I will not be doing business with them again and would warn others against doing so. read more

Johnson Plumbing is overpriced. I called them, told them what needed to be fixed and was quoted a price range for the worst case scenario. The repair guy showed up, had very little work to do, and quoted me almost twice what they had quoted me originally. I had to have the work done that day, so I paid, but I will never use them again. They are very polite on the phone, but one has to be polite when lieing about the price of services. Get quotes from someone else. They will try to overcharge you. read more
