Worst service ever! They don't always pick up on their scheduled days and I had been asking for a new trash can since we moved into our home because the lid was broken. That was in June of 2023, here we are in December 2023 and I never received. I sent them emails, called them and never got answers or responses! This is the worst company ever, the only reason we used them is because our city used there service. Every other month we have to call amd report that our trash was not pick up. All they will tell you they gonna pick it up the next day . But will never show up . First it was a month before they did. A month later it the same situation. Two week In an no one has come yet even though we been calling. All week. Same answer, we will get it tomorrow. I just want to know which tomorrow. Worst ever. read more

I don't use them for my trash pick up, but my neighbor does. In June they backed their truck into my mailbox damaging it beyond repair. After several calls I finally spoke with Rodney who said he would take care of getting it replaced. After 4 1/2 months I still don't have it taken care of. read more

I've never had any major issues with trash pick up, and any interaction I've had with the men who do the pick up has been positive. Even through COVID, these men have been on time and helpful. I had the service for eight years, and then a wheel came loose on my can in early September. I called the day after Labor Day and was told it'd be replaced within two days. Nothing. I e-mailed a follow-up and was told it'd be done by September 22. Nothing. I contacted via e-mail, the website, and phone multiple times, and finally got an e-mail response saying it'd be completed by October 18. Nothing. The men came to collect on October 19 and left the can -- now without one wheel -- on the side. I called to cancel, thinking that, at the very least, I'd get an apology for failing to follow up three times. Nothing. The woman was nice enough and refunded my most recent payment. She said they'd be around to collect the can soon -- which is really funny given that if they'd just do that, I'd stay with the service! -- but I don't expect that to happen at all. I imagine I'll end up having to get rid of it myself in the future. read more

They never come on the same day and they tried to come pick up my trash can yesterday saying I haven't paid my bill. I have been calling for weeks trying to even get a bill to pay them and no one will call back. It's not my job to send myself a bill. I paid them yesterday and then another guy came today to pick up my can saying I hadn't paid the bill. I showed him the check I just wrote and he was very nice and let me keep the can. He called the manager while in front of me and he said they have problems with their phones, again not my problem. Terrible customer service. For the last five weeks Johnson sanitation has skipped trash day as a whole coming as many as 3 days late to get the garbage. By that point I have twice given up and therefore had no trash service. If you call up there you are pretty much guaranteed to get an answering machine (which, they have no intention of calling you back if you leave a message) or you get a barely intelligible person who mumbles and doesn't answer your questions but assures you they will make a "note of it". You will not get an apology, and they have no idea why things changed other than they "were really busy"... The way they treat you on the phone is kinda "trashy" (pun intended). When we first signed up with them it was great! Fair prices, paying online, and on time pickup were the reasons we stuck with them after the first two times. Now I am going to have them pick up the can and I'm going to call waste management because I know they are on time!! Update: I called 10 times over 4 days and left 3 messages. No call was returned. I finally got a hold of someone today and told them to cancel my service. She was rude and just said "why?" So, I told her you're always late, you don't answer the phones or call people back, and you charge more for your services and provide less. She said "fine, I'll send someone to get your can" and hung up. No thank you for your time with us, no apology, no trying to rectify the situation, she didn't even say goodbye when she hung up. So glad to get away from that company!!! If you need service try upstate waste management, they are super polite, always answer or call back (even when I didn't leave a message), and they cost less and include recycling services. Update 2: After I cancelled the service, someone finally called me back only to be crazy rude upon realizing I had cancelled. It has been one week since then and the can is still out by the curb waiting to be picked up. In that time I have switched companies and already had a new can delivered. I called back to see when they would come get this can and...you guessed it...voicemail again. I'm half tempted to take the darn thing up there myself or just set it on fire. Im sure even though they can't be bothered to answer the phone, pick up the trash on time, or pick up the can that they could be bothered to charge me! I have been a customer for just over 3yrs now. Service has been decent, and the price beats their competitors. You do get what you pay for. Don't expect them to EVER answer the phone when you call and don't have high hopes of getting a call back. I've had to call them 3-5 times(for them missing their pickup day) since I've been with them and left a message every time. Never received a call back, BUT, somebody always came by the next day or so to pick up the trash. If customer service is high on your list of priorities or you are an impatient person, look elsewhere. If you want to support a small, local business and have a little patience, then this is your company. read more

I can totally appreciate the difficulty of keeping help and there is no one that has more heart for helping in this sanitation field than Rodney. Even when he struggles with help he manages to continue service and drives many routes himself. The people he does hire always seem to be hard workers and friendly. Even if he skips a day here and there due to weather, holidays and employee issues, he manages to get back on track. As a small business owner I commend him for all that he does. read more

We had several weeks in a row that they just didn't pick up, didn't call, wouldn't answer the phone when we tried to find out why... We told them to come get their can, but suddenly it's better and we've gone a few weeks with no glitches. Well, Friday was trash day and it's now Monday evening. Out trash can has been at the bottom of the driveway for 4 days! We've left another message to come get it. WE ARE DONE!! They will not get another cent from me!
