This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

I cannot tell you how much comfort it brought us to know that people like Nicole and her team were taking care of things while we took a whirlwind trip to get away on a Holiday week. I always say-you can't put a price tag on peace of mind but it's even better when that price tag is affordable and not breaking the bank for quality care! My husband and I work long hours out of the house and believe allowing an animal to stay alone is unhealthy emotionally and physically for them. When we relocated from North Austin to South Austin, which is like moving to another city in most Austinities minds, we left behind Mufasa's dog nanny. THREE pet sitters later, all of who are on YELP, we found Capcity Pet Sitting. Capcity Pet Sitting has been a blessing to my peace of mind. I can tell when a person doesn't have the time to really put into caring for a dog and when a company is just in it for the transactional benefit. Will and Claire ENJOY taking care of our Mufasa and it shows in his attitude at the end of the day. Will and Claire always keep me updated on how the day went and any new behaviors I need to be aware of or keep an eye on. Cortney and Avalon sent me regular updates and photos giving me peace of mind during my trip. They, again, exceeded my expectations. She was so skilled, even when my cat tried to escape a couple times, she was able to calm him down and hold him in a way that didn't hurt him or let him thrash. He was so calm!! And he was sooo fluffy and soft afterwards I never knew he was this fluffy and soft!! Definitely will be booking her again!!

Unlike some of our experiences with other veterinarians in Austin, we never feel rushed. We truly appreciate the care and attention he gives to both us and our cat Reishi. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian. We truly hope we can find a clinic as wonderful as ATX Animal Clinic. It is the best veterinary clinic we have ever had, and we are incredibly grateful to Dr. Rob and the entire team.

She has told me wrong information multiple times in regard to schedule appointments even when I asked her if she was sure cuz the info didn't sound right. It has been incredibly frustrating working with her. I wouldn't trust information coming from her and will be asking to speak to someone besides her from now on. Otherwise a wonderful clinic and have loved all the staff besides her. Highly recommends this vet clinic.

My daughter recently received a betta fish for her birthday, and I wanted to upgrade her tank with driftwood and plants. Since I'm new to this, I was looking forward to asking the "experts" a few questions. Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared the moment I walked in. As soon as I entered, the older gentleman behind the counter looked directly at me and then immediately turned away without saying a word. He wasn't helping anyone at the time. I walked around the store for a while and noticed a young woman cleaning items nearby. Not once did she greet me or ask if I needed help. When I was looking at the driftwood display, she walked by, so I asked a question. She gave me what felt like a dirty look, gave a very quick answer, and walked away. I initially thought maybe she was busy helping other customers, but that didn't seem to be the case. What made the experience worse was what happened next. While I was still browsing near the entrance, several other customers walked in. Every single one of them was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I hate to even bring this up, but it left me wondering why my experience was so different. I'm a Hispanic male with tattoos, and every other customer who was greeted appeared to be white with no visible tattoos. I truly hope that wasn't the reason, but I honestly can't think of another explanation for the difference in treatment. Either way, it was disappointing. I had specifically chosen to visit a local specialty shop because I wanted the advice and expertise that comes with it. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and will likely just go to a big box store instead--something I was hoping to avoid. I hope this isn't the normal experience for customers, but it was certainly mine today.

From the second we arrived, Dr. Pearson and the entire care team--Megan, Ethan, and Nicole (the CEC)--were absolutely incredible. They provided top-tier medical care for our girl, but what I appreciated most was how they handled my wife and me. We were in a total state of panic, and they stayed calm, kept us informed, and treated us with so much empathy. It's rare to find a team that can balance high-level emergency medicine with such genuine bedside manner. Dr. Pearson is a total pro, and the nursing staff made us feel like our pup was their only priority. If you're in the Austin area and find yourself in a pet emergency, this is the only place I'd trust.

This could be my 4th time or 3rd time, but I do know it's always on a weekend. Our pets are our kids and when do they get sick or injured??? On weekends. Our Coconut once more ripped her nail almost completely off. She and Buddy who lives on the other side of the fence are always running back and forth and peeking at one another, oh yes running and barking as well. So Saturday she did it again, got her one nail caught in the slats of the fence. The good, great doctors were able to cut it off as far in as they could go. The nail is split inside but will grow out. On Monday she would not put her paw down and I couldn't touch it. It was all wrapped up good but I was fearful of taking the bandage off soooooo back to our friendly VEG ER for pets again. The doctor took the wrap off and said it looks great and healing but just like humans, the second day it hurts the worst. He was so reassessing, just keep up the medication and wear the "cone".... Today, day 5 and she is walking , even trying to run on it and just about finished with the medicine. Sleeps well, and just about to be my tom-boy, girl puppy again. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. Oh the picture I have posted is of 's sister Winnie , yes there are from the same litter. I was watching Winnie and she all of a sudden just fell over and boy was so close to dying. It was a tough, rough couple days, but the doctor's there as well as the ones on 2222 pulled her through. Love you guys, all of you. Thank you.

When a recent trip came up and our usual house sitter was unavailable, I was delighted to see that the 'mothers are still around and still loving on Austin's pets! Thanks to Jody for checking in on our cat daily while we were away. She is AWESOME at communication. First, there were a few emails and a questionnaire to get the ball rolling, then she came and visited our home and pets and gave me a few ideas for making the experience of being left home alone far less traumatizing for our cat. While we were gone, she sent a few email updates and a photo, including a request to inform her when we returned so she would know that we were okay and our pet was too. AND she emailed the next day to check in on our cat and make sure everyone was happy. Each time, she made us feel like our cat was the most important pet in the world -- which is exactly how we, as pet owners, feel! I can tell you that this is an uncommon level of care and communication, based on my experience with other pet sitting and boarding arrangements here in Austin. The rates were great too. Nonetheless, all of our kits were safe, sound, well-fed and happy upon our return. Plus, she left us a very entertaining journal of their activities during our vacation-- and she tidied up after the little rascals. I'll definitely use the godmother(s) again whenever necessary.
