Which we took him specifically to get a haircut. Not only that but we paid $92 for a bath and nails cut amongst a few small other things but no haircut. I would have thought for $92 he would have had his haircut. But they said that would have been another $15. The environment when walking in was really nice though. They had a little store and treats and food. Our dogs name was actually on a sign outside when we pulled up welcoming here which was a sweet surprise. I didn't have a specific haircut in mind, just knew my pup was overdue (it had been about 3 months) and needed a good summer cut. We switched from another groomer who took forever to check him out because their operations were too large and disorganized. The last time I took him to Anna's in February the price was significantly cheaper. The cut wasn't as good but also he had to be shaved cause his hair was all matted. Not the groomer's fault. I tried to book another appointment and I asked the woman why the price difference. She looked at his profile and said it's 25 lbs dog. I said "my dog is 17 lbs, so was I changed the wrong amount all those other times?" She offered to have the owner call me. Owner never called. I called back a day later to cancel the appointment that I booked because our dog didn't quite need it yet but I still wanted to chat with the owner. I explained the situation and I got such inconsistent messaging. She first told me some groomers charge by weight but they do not. I told her I wasn't the one who brought up weight and correlation to price, the person working for her did. She then said the groomer usually makes a judgement on what price and she allows them to charge what they want. Then towards the end she said most of them charge the prices she sets. She explained that the last woman I had was an apprentice and new so she charged a lower price to begin with but by the end of her 5 month rotation, she charged about the same as the rest of groomers. The entire convo was really awkward and circular. I think I'll be finding a new place after that experience.

They sure do know how to make more money though. They charge a convenience fee of $40 in order to have another groomer help handle the dog. Well for one, my dog isn't aggressive. Has NEVER shown any signs of aggression, we have 3 kids and have never worried of our dog being aggressive or too hard to handle. You'd think that if they'd charge extra for handling him they'd at least do a decent job. That wasn't the case for us. Our poor dog got cut many times, and a severe cut near his private area. There was no mention of it when picked up, so extremely poor communication skills. This isn't the first time this has happened, he's gotten minor cuts in previous groomings but never this bad.

Honestly I think any one star reviews would probably be due to miscommunication or human error. You HAVE to be a dog person to go into this business so I don't think Kelly has ever "traumatized" a dog or intentionally didn't listen to instructions. I let her meet people as they game in, she followed Quinn's lead and mostly sat near me in-between people; but she let people come in and out without growling or barking, and accepted treats with paw shakes. I have always been worried about having ppl over -- The first couple times it went poorly enough that I have since avoided it -- so this was nothing short of amazing.
