The facility itself is clean, well-kept, and professional. That might sound like a small thing, but after being sent to other places in the past, it makes a big difference walking into somewhere that actually feels like a proper medical office instead of something run down or questionable. I saw Dr. Sunil Aurora, and he was excellent. Very professional, thorough, and--most importantly--he took the time to clearly explain how the procedure works and what to expect going forward. No rushing, no talking over your head--just straight, understandable information. Right now, we're waiting on confirmation from the VA to approve coverage for four treatments, so that's the next step. But based on this first visit, I feel comfortable and confident moving forward with them. If the treatment side matches the first impression, this is going to be a solid place for care.

There is a reason that my required medical treatment is recognized as legitimate by the American medical association, even though my case is rather rare. If my required medical treatment were medically unsound, it would be illegal. I am that one case that causes the medication I require to remain in production. These idiots won't even look at my MRIs. They just turn you down, if there's anything other than cookie cutter, manufacturing line medical care required to treat you. Don't waste your time with these idiots. Find yourself a real doctor. My only problem is that I moved. My medical treatment plan is absolutely sound, as can be further evidence by the fact that I have a doctor who treats me now. I just have to drive 8 hours, round trip, back to where I moved from in Winston-Salem North Carolina... At 56, I have been through my share of rheumatologists. Unfortunately, there is no cure or remedy that will rid me of any of these issues. Dr. Gregory Borstad does his best to help me manage my symptoms, including extreme sensitivity to touch/pressure in certain areas (lower, inner calves, soles of feet, outer, upper thighs), muscle pain, exhaustion and fatigue, arthritis, depression (related to not feeling well), & headaches, along with GI problems. Dr. Borstad really wants to help, but he doesn't have a magic wand, just like none of the others do. But I do like him a lot because he listens and cares. He will often be open to prescribing medications that I ask for, such as biologics, but he will not provide pain management. (I have to get my hydrocodone elsewhere. I am only on one 10 mg tablet per day, cut into thirds or quarters, but he will not prescribe it.) Nonetheless, doctor hopping has become a total drag for me, because my illnesses are what they are. So I will stick with Carolina Arthritis Associates. They bill my BCBS insurance at a MUCH, MUCH more reasonable rate than Wilmington Health's rheumatologist, Heather Favorito, so my co-pay is not such a huge financial burden as it was with her--even though I did like her a lot. Also, Dr. Borstad's assistant, Farah, is very efficient and gets back to me in a timely manner. The nurse assistant whose place Farah took was just as lovely and efficient. It just sucks that I cannot live my life normally. I wish there were more answers.
