This place tops the list of my favorite HVAC/R supply houses in the Greater LA Area. I have never had a bad experience with them.

On Sunday, May 31st, I went to Costco Burbank with my mom. I've probably been there more than…read more10,000 times by now, but my mom had a long shopping list, so we went together. Normally, I enjoy going to Costco because there are always lots of things to browse and buy. However, this visit was quite disappointing for several reasons. 1) The food and drink samples were disappointing, and one of the sample representatives had a terrible attitude. There were several food and drink sampling stations throughout the store. These days, I've completely stopped eating ham, sausages, and similar processed meats, so I didn't even try those samples. (I also never eat beef jerky because I don't like it, so I skipped those samples as well.) The few samples I did try were all terrible. I took one bite and immediately threw them away. Near the entrance, there was a woman offering blue and red drink samples. Since I'm extremely sensitive to caffeine, I politely asked whether the drinks contain caffeine. Instead of simply answering the question, she immediately started talking very loudly and gave me a long, irritated explanation. I asked again whether the drinks contained caffeine or not, and she once again responded in a loud (almost yelled at me). It was a totally unpleasant manner and experience. Eventually, another man who stopped by there came over and simply told me that the drinks did not contain caffeine. Honestly, her customer service and attitude were awful. Before leaving, I told her, "If you want to sell anything, you need to be nicer to customers." 2) We were overcharged for an item. We purchased 20 items that day, but after my mom paid and reviewed the receipt, she noticed that 21 items had been charged. I discovered that the cashier had accidentally scanned the olive oil twice. I brought it to the attention of the male cashier, who told us to speak with a supervisor. My brother then went to the supervisor, who counted every item one by one and eventually confirmed that we had been charged twice for the olive oil. The duplicate charge was refunded. Of course, the refund was the right thing to do. Everyone makes mistakes, and I understand that. However, this experience reminded me that whenever you shop at Costco, you should always carefully review your receipt before leaving. 3) I was extremely disappointed that I still couldn't find the Pistachio Croissant. I've seen countless posts on social media about Costco's Pistachio Croissant, and one of the main reasons I wanted to go to buy one. Unfortunately, every single time I visit this location, I can never find it. A few months ago, I was looking for it during another visit and asked a Costco employee where he was. He replied, "Pistachio Croissant? I wish we had that too." Then he walked away. It was both hilarious and confusing at the same time. I honestly don't understand why other Costco locations seem to have it while this location never does. It would be nice if Costco could at least let customers know when the item is expected to arrive. Overall, Costco Burbank is still a store I visit frequently, but this particular visit was more frustrating and disappointing than usual.

They have great stuff and prices are great. The clothes are amazing along with toys and other things. The clothing variety is awesome. Lots of sizes for children and adults. HOW have I gone this long without reviewing Smarty's!?!?!…read more My daughter and I are Art's biggest fans. Every Thursday (which is when Art gets in his pallets of new inventory), she says to me "Happy Smarty's Day!" You just never know what you are going to find here. We have gotten the following items in the past year or two: a brand new Samsung dishwasher (a model that had only been on the market for five months, new in the box for over $700 off retail price!), a Ninja Creamy ice cream machine, Instant Pot lid that turns it into an air fryer, Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for hundreds off list price, deck boxes and hose reels for the backyard, a new microwave, an amazing array of plastic storage bins in all sizes for the garage/storage locker...and that's just off the top of my head! Going to Smarty's is our weekly treasure hunt. More than once, my daughter has bemoaned that she bought something elsewhere only to find it later at Smarty's for a fraction of the price. On the rare occasion that something we bought ended up damaged after we opened the box (which does happen from time to time, given the nature of the business of buying pallets of stuff from Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.), Art has always made good and given us a full refund. I am almost loathe to tell people about this store because I want to keep these amazing, secret deals all to myself, but I also want Art to stay in business forever. Thanks, Art! We'll see you on Thursday! :)
