I experienced the worst customer service at JoJos restaurant. Never going back there again. Ordered a Denver omelette. What I got was a mess. It tasted foul. The waitress was offended I didn't like it. I said it's no big deal. I just wanted to pay and leave. But, she said "I'll pay for it". I was shocked! I said "no it's okay". She just ignored me. Disappeared. I left 15 dollars at the register. The server was a tall caucasian, blonde, tattoos. Just terrible service. Never going back. read more

This is a decent restaurant. The menu shows a vast variety of choices for a fish & chips restaurant. I had their Breaded Veal and Eggs. The veal tasted great when topped with gravy. Everything that came with it like the scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and sourdough toast was okay. The coffee is nothing to write home about. What was weird was that I served my food before I was served coffee, which I ordered all at the same time. The interior looked good, and I like the sea theme they went with their restaurant. During my second visit, I had dinner on a Sunday and the restaurant was almost vacant. I ordered the Halibut Special with the Blueberry Milkshake. The bread halibut and prawns were great, while the fries tasted very good on their own. The tartar sauce was also great and made the seafood taste spectacular. The coleslaw, however, was mildly bland, even if it was free with my entrée. The milkshake was pretty great, with the whip cream flourishing with flavour. So I recommend JoJo's more for their lunches and dinners rather than their breakfasts. read more

In the past 9 days I've eaten their food 3 times! I read reviews, saw pics and twice have ordered the Halibut Special - this is literally the best fried fish I've eaten outside of the maritimes. Today I tried the mushroom, Swiss, bacon burger and it was delish! The club sandwich is good too as well the home made fries and gravy they are mouthwatering tasty! When I ate inside it was busy but the food came out fast - hot and fresh!! Old school type diners are becoming far and few between so I'm pleased to have found this place. It may end up being a weekly stop! Looking forward to trying other options as they also have lots of choices. Definitely recommend trying as the quality of the food is there plus really decent prices! read more

A new friend of mine introduced me to this establishment back at the offset of 2016. I had never been to this town before and knew nothing about where to get a good meal, so he kindly suggested we visit this restaurant together. Having been so many years ago, I can't precisely remember the name of the dish we bought, but I recall it was a generic breakfast package with eggs, sausages, and toast. I did not know it at the time, but this turned out to be the one and only meal we would share together as my friend passed away months later. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to connect with them here. It was a simple dish, but it means more to me than anything. Jo Jo's is way better than it looks from the outside. If you're looking for a cheap breakfast (and I mean CHEAP, 3.99 for eggs, hashbrowns and toast!) this is the place. The service is what really takes it over the top though. The servers are super attentive and really quick and deserve every tip they receive. They are a bunch of no nonsense, light on their feet, angels! Breakfast hour can get busy on the weekends so try to get there a bit early. Plenty of parking in the lot though. The atmosphere is kitschy and very dated but it really doesn't matter when the grub is tasty and service is so good. The regular crowd are usually 50+ but that doesn't bother me. In fact, I prefer it, less postulating and preoccupation with being trendy. Their fish and chips are quite light and fresh as well. Some of the better fish n' chips I've had in Abbotsford and now that Pirate's Den is closed down, I will be coming here for my cravings. They've got a good selection of different fish they can fry up and a nice selection of inexpensive appetizers. They are also licensed if you fancy a brew with your meal. When you're looking for simple and cheap, Jo Jo's is the place. I really do recommend it. read more

We went to this restaurant to have lunch as a family. We ordered a variety of items including fish and chips, clubhouse sandwich, ham sandwich and a chocolate pancakes. The fish and chips was very greasy and pretty expensive considering the quality. The club sandwich was decent but it's pretty hard to mess up a club sandwich. The service was spotty and left a lot to be desired. There are far better options and Abbotsford for lunch. read more

Started going there about a year ago. Went in twice in the past month, halibut once and salmon last visit. The halibut and salmon are close to freezer burn and the salmon had been extremely overcooked. When I went into this establishment there was only one waitress serving mostly all of the cafe - guessing a 45 table seating. The waitress was fast at taking orders, not forgetting one darn thing, she knew her customers and her job because that lady could sure multitask; reminding me of myself in the kitchen serving the family. I could not believe the amount of food on the plates going to the tables. Good food, great service and clean ... One busy place indeed. Now I'm guessing this place has been around for many years and their clientele are mainly a steady bunch because the waitress knew most by their names, also I found this place by accident nestled in between other businesses in a long strip-mall in Abbotsford. This place hasn't changed in twenty some odd years. Same chairs, same tables same oil. Not so much. Still get a decent meal for a reasonable price. If it's fish and chips you are after, you will find them here. Also have salads and burgers. The service is a little hit and miss and turn over is quite frequent. Staff are always attentive, food is reasonably priced, tastes great and good portion sizes.

I have been here before and had no issue. But today I was served the most disgusting and burnt "food" of my life. I understand that they are busy however, one waitress smiles at a a table when she turns around she looks disgusted about the people she just spoke to. My 10 year old son was served sausages that were burnt and rock hard the same as with mine the coffee I was served was like water and not to mention there were people seated after us that were receiving much better attention and prompt service. I would highly reccomend you visit the local McDonald's Instead of gambling your money on either a good meal or an absolutely horrible one . Unfortunately good visits are remarkable but a bad experience has just ruined what was once decent . I cannot in good faith endorse a restaurant that has very little consistency with there food or service. I do apologise but I have to be honest. If you do go here please find yourself a regular you will be treated much much better and with more respect read more

I can't give it 5 stars because I've only been there 4 times (in the last two weeks) and so I haven't tasted everything yet (twice had the Bana Omelette, and once each the Cod and Chips and the Eggs Benny. First time was mid-afternoon omelette, second time was mid-afternoon fish and chips, third was morning omelette and today was mid-afternoon Benny.) Right off the bat, the food has been great, and so have the waitresses. If these experiences continue, this could turn out to be a place where I will become a regular for years to come. Diners with good prices often turn out to be places that don't change their oil often enough. I can smell rancid oil from the moment I walk into a place, even if it's just at that turning-into point. I can smell it if a refrigerated vitamin-E capsule is off. Not a whiff here so far. And, the portions are substantial, the fish batter very light, the cubed skin-on hash browns crispy, and the omelettes fluffy. I'm going to try the pancakes and waffles next - they look good as well. The place is packed every time I go. There's a reason for that, and it isn't just that seniors on fixed incomes appreciate the prices. The food is damn good. read more

Came here with the family in tow. The customer service was ok and the food was so so. It was pretty standard dinner type stuff with seafood options. I had the seafood platter which was just a pile of fried seafood. It was all OK but I don't think I'd order it again. It's worth another try and maybe I'll get something less fried. read more

Problems: 1) Tea served with warm water - resolved by microwaving the water. 2) Fish & Chips deep fried in funny tasting oil 3) Limp, soggy chicken strips with bone bits mixed with the processed meat. 4) Overall unclean appearance of coffee station, and apparel worn by owner. We went there yesterday for their advertised Halibut Special. The fish we had, if it was fish, was definitely not halibut and it wasn;t fresh either. It was so tough, you had to use a knife to cut through it. The texture was like chicken that had been in the oven for hours. It also had an off taste. Never again! read more

If you want fancy decor don't go to JoJo's. I am sure it is the original tables and chairs, which mean in another 20 years they will be antiques. If you want a reasonable priced place to eat this is your place. One thing I noticed was how many older folk go to eat here. That is usually a good sign that there is good value here. We went for breakfast and we were not disappointed. I'm of the thought everyone should go to JoJo's for the experience. For what you will pay and what you eat you won't be robbed. my daughter and I we're going for dinner tonight where were the only two in there the waitress told us she was going to be with us one guy came in and he sat himself then another guy came in and sat him self and then a couple came in and the waitress finally showed up and seated them but not us so we walked out and I turned around and told the waitress I don't think it was fair that they sat three people in there waiting 10 minutes I don't think it's fair is that they should treat everybody equal I know we don't go there all the time and I know they have regular people in there all the time but still it's not right and the waitress was rude and not fair the food is good but I won't be showing my face back in there anymore read more
