    Oyster Shot

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Bow & Stern is an elegant-looking restaurant with great food and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had their Salmon Cake Entrée, and I thought everything was delicious. It came with a green salad with vinegar dressing that was good, seasoned buttered vegetables that tasted better than expected and pretty piquant mashed potatoes. The salmon cakes were pretty good on its own, even when paired with the cocktail and tzatziki sauce that came with it. I also had their Oyster Shot, which was interesting to say the least. I did have their raw oysters during the Happy Hour period, and they were pretty good for an appetizer. I had their Chicken & Waffles from their brunch menu, and it was overall enjoyable. The coffee there was acceptable, although it is a little costly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I adore the nautical-theme design of the restaurant while still maintaining sophisticated charm to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood.

Super cool vibe. Love the layout of the restaurant. Service was average, not bad not great... Didn't add to or take away from the meal to put that way. We ordered a bunch of different things for our table and really enjoyed the fresh oysters. The cod and chips were nice and crunchy! Bummer - the sushi rolls were poorly wrapped, obviously not from a sushi chef, but the flavor was great. But I will say that the salmon gravelax was pretty fantastic.

Shrimp ceviche...eh it was ok. Little Avocado and shrimp. Minimal flavor.

After Covid, prices increased 30 - 50% it seems while the quality and flavor went down. I understand they need to make a profit, but quality and taste shouldn't be compromised. Maybe downsize the menu? No amount of lemon/ lime and salt corps save the ceviche and tortillas. Fyi, their bread and butter are so good! But you will be charged. Service was ok.

Popped in to this great little eatery in Abbotsford for lunch today! The service was both friendly and efficient. The ambiance is clean, and super pleasing to the eye. Has a rustic, cozy vibe while still being bring and clean. It was a lovely place to warm up on a chilly afternoon. It's in a great area, close to all the great shops and cafes that Abbotsford has to offer. Fits in well with the surrounding businesses. Menu is seafood forward but many items that cater to the non seafood lovers like myself! ‍ Most tables around me were ordering their fish and chips and they looked yummy! Drink menu had some great cocktails! Happy Hour daily 2-5pm Would gladly come again when in the area!

We stopped in for dinner on a busy Friday night around 8pm and we're so glad to be seated without a big delay. They greeted us at the door, and checked out bc passports and then once seated we were greeted by our waitress promptly. The restaurant was a little loud but they were quiet full and it was a Friday night. If you're intending for a romantic dinner I might suggest you go on a less busy night. But overall the ascetic is fun, welcoming and modern. The ordered both the fish tacos and Cajun chicken tacos. They orders come with 2 large tacos and a side of fries. You're able to get the tacos with corn tortillas if you're allergic. Sadly this was our downfall of the evening. We love that they offered the corn tortillas so that it's an option to those who are gluten intolerant but the issue was within the execution. The corn tacos fell apart while eating them, while in comparison the flour did not. If you're going to grab the tacos with corn get some extra napkins and maybe a set of cutlery as well. The fish tacos are filled with battered house fish, it is a lot of fish which is great. It is just a little hard to eat, for I'm assuming it's the fish they use within their fish and chips. We hope to go back to try more, and hopefully their corn tortillas will improve as well.

A popular gem along one of the hippest streets in Chilliwack is Bow and Stern. This is the perfect spot to catch a good drink and sefood! There are so many great options to choose from and they even have happy hour throughout the week too! The raw oysters were part of the happy hour deal for $1.50 each. And they were FRESH!! And we doubled down on the oyster by ordering the po'boy too and it was the best decision ever! The oysters in the sandwich are so plump, juicy and fried just right! And for some greens they have this tremendously stacked seafood salad!! There were soo much seafood that included crab meat, prawns, and halibut. This is one of restaurant that will call you back for more no matter how far the ride is!

We came to Bow & Stern for happy hour and would highly recommend! The burger/fries/beer combo for $15 was a steal and oysters were available for $1.50 per piece. They had ample seating indoors and outdoors and staff were very friendly!

Always a great option, however, they just raised their corking fee to $25/bottle. I guess we'll just make our mussells at home from now on.

It was very chill. They have 2 locations and this one is the more 'lax version off the side of a road. Their other locations is in Chilliwack which is more established as a restaurant type. After talking to the guy at the till, he mentioned that they switch flavours every thursday. That was intriguing and made this place more interesting. I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe).

I got a table right away since the place was vacant and was able to order right away. I had their Breakfast Classic with Bacon and I thought it was average. I had sourdough toast and hashbrowns that were bland, and the eggs were okay. The bacon tasted good at least. The coffee was nothing special and tasted more like Orange Pekoe. The interior of the bar looked undistinguished and run-down, sighting nothing special about its design. It was a Friday night so we decided to stay on the patio. It was pretty cool with the fire torches. We ordered a few drinks and ordered some food. Everything was going good except the food was taking forever but it was busy. Finally our food comes and we decide to dig in. As I was eating an individual from inside the lounge came out to have a smoke. Which is fine I was a smoker for 20 years but now had quit. So people smoking around me usually is no problem. But there was a little problem he had sat down behind me, right where the wind was slowly blowing the smoke right in my face as I was trying to eat. After a few minutes of this I thought the customer smoking would see this and move but he didn't. So, just as I had turned around to ask the customer very (nicely).... let me repeat that nicely if he could possibly move to a different table, as we are enjoying our food and the smoke is going in our face while we try and eat. It was just at that time I was saying this the waitress came from inside and she could hear what I said and told me very bluntly that the patrons can smoke where ever they want and if I have a problem with that I should move inside because it's non smoking. For one I didn't ask the waitress what she thought plus in my mind she was incouraging him to smoke in my face. I simply asked an individual to move because his smoke was going in my face. I had ordered food and drinks at the same table so why should I have to move. Here is what to expect if you decide to eat there. People do look at reviews just as my self to decide what places to go to. So I hope the management would do the right thing and maybe inform the waitresses to be more courteous to customers since we are paying your wage. It was almost 100$ in a couple hours at this place but losing that plus times how many people read this.

We came right at opening on a Thursday, and had our choice of seating. As I understand, the bar is owned by a couple of brothers, and both were there to assist us. We started with cocktails (why not?). The margarita was a good choice and we learned that they were taught mixology by their stepdad who worked in the industry in Ballard. We also learned the pie recipes were taught to them from their mom. We opted for the Thanksgiving pie, which was served with a side of cranberry sauce and a lovely green salad. The pie was a good size, filled with turkey, rosemary potatoes, gravy and stuffing. I mean, classic flavors, and topped with a dab of cranberry, it brings out all the feels. Very tasty! The crust is perfectly flakey and delicious. The salad was topped with feta and grated beets with a tangy viniagrette. Hubs and I shared, and it was pretty filling. I didn't think we could eat a sweet slice there, so I ordered the Humble Crumble to go. Of course.......we couldn't resist. Just one bite, then another. We soon devoured the sweet pie before we could even get up from the table. I love the idea! Great food! Great Service!
