Most of their selection are without the harmful chemicals of MSG, PAHs, and sodium nitrite which are found in other brands. I like this place because it's great for gifts. JoJo's is in the Container Park. The store is small but they have a large variety. It's a bit pricey but it's good quality. They have several vegan flavors too. I think jerky makes good presents because it lasts awhile. It doesn't spoil that fast. The jerky comes in convenient packaging that doesn't take up a whole lot of room. It comes in many flavors. They have mild, medium, and spicy. It has jerky mostly made from beef. They also have a vegan version. It gets made from a cactus. This has a texture similar to the real thing. It's not cheap which is one bad thing about it. It's about $8 for a package. They have different heat levels for this. I like the Sweet Heat. This isn't excessively hot just in my opinion. It's a locally owned business. It has a few more items than only jerky. I mean, they got jerky in their name so jerky is definitely their game. They have a huge collection of jerky! They even have spiced peanuts and different dry rubs that you can buy. My favorite is their "Triple Threat" and "Hell on Earth". Both are pretty spicy but not their spiciest! They actually have a super duper spicy jerk that I have yet to try. Usually I love this place, visit every time I am in Vegas. I made an online order and what I received was 2 broken bottles of the sweet Thai chili sauce and some jerky that wasn't properly packaged. The jerky looked like charcoal and was extremely brittle and inedible. Contacted the owner who promised me a replacement order and it was never received. Been close to a month and still nothing despite emails to him with no response. Hate to say but I will no long support a company who doesn't take care of their long time customers and make damaged or incorrect orders, correct. read more

Great jerky and I love that they are a local company. We stumbled upon this store while exploring Container Park one weekend. The woman working was very generous in offering many samples of the jerky so that we could taste several options. In addition to jerky she was also offering flavored peanuts. Even my meat loving husband couldn't resist purchasing the cactus jerky. How unique is that? Tasty too. I really liked the spicy flavors and bought some as a gift for a friend that loves hot foods. Awesome! I will say that I am a big fan of jerky and JoJo's hits the nail on the head when it comes to their jerky! Not only that but they have so many amazing other products that they offer that are so dang tasty you'll have a hard time not walking out with one of everything! The various nuts they offer were all really tasty. I love how they offer a variety of jerky styles and then each style comes in each flavor. They really cover all their bases with options here. The girl that was working the counter was so easy going, friendly and informative. She took us through all the flavors, products, taste testing lots of stuff before deciding what we wanted. The one thing we did not get which I regret not getting is one of their hot sauces. I am a huge hot sauce guy but having only flown w/ a carry-on, smuggling some hot sauce home unfortunately wasn't an option this trip. Another little bonus feature of the store is the really cool tank that was created by that one fish tank show Tanked. This is a great place to get your jerky on! They everything from beef to bacon to turkey to VEGAN jerky. I mean, if vegan is your thing, this is apparently the place to come for jerky! Located in the Container park shopping center, they are, of course, limited in size to what can fit inside. This small store is packed with flavor. We were assisted by a knowledgeable and friendly staff member who not only answered our questions, but was able to make some amazing suggestions based on our inquiries. Better yet - they had free samples! We had a hard time settling on just a few choices to enjoy but that's OK. We'll be back next time we're in Vegas. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of Jerky in any form... Our favorite was the BBQ Bacon jerky... but we still have a couple flavors that I'm pretty excited about - including the Jamaican Jerk flavor! Our favorite may change! read more

My husband and I recently stopped in here since we purchased a Groupon deal. He is a big fan of any type of jerky. It's a really small shop, literally 5 ppl in there would be crowded. One guy working and we asked him his advice on top jerky to purchase. We ended up getting the bacon one, which was okay, more on the salty side for me, Thai chili, which is actually out favorite one, teriyaki, not a fan of and will not get again, and triple threat, which was good as well. I just wish the Jerky bags were a little bigger. We plan to come back next time we are in Vegas and try some other flavors as well. Too bad we weren't able to sample the ones we purchased just to make sure it was something we liked. This review is only for the Carne Asada jerky. I was told this is a moist jerky and it is to some extent. It is more on the dry side as it is not really tender. Interesting flavor really reminds me of eating taco meat but I like my jerky tender. I probably would not buy the Carne Asada jerky again. read more

We fell in love with Jojo's Jerky on our last trip out west and have ordered a few times via the website to get our fix. However, after this last experience, I will not be ordering again. I placed an order for 6 bags...2 teriyaki and 4 of the pepper sticks. After waiting a full month (and emailing for updates 3 times with zero response), our jerky finally arrived!! Except...it wasn't what we ordered. I reached out via email, waited several days, and got a response that said basically that they no longer make what I ordered, thanks and have a great day. They took my money and sent what they considered the closest thing to what I paid for without bothering to reach out and make sure it was what I wanted. What happens when a hardcore vegetarian strolls into a jerky store? Seriously, it's like a bad joke setup. My husband even tried to stop me from going in. But I just had a feeling about this place. I love cooking and something compelled me to open the door and walk in. Boy, am I glad I did! JoJo's Jerky is a small but well organized store in the adorable and fun Container Park. In addition to jerky, JoJo's sells a well curated selection of house roasted nuts (cashews, almonds, peanuts, and others), dry spice rubs, marinades, and hot sauces. There's probably other stuff I'm forgetting, too. Most importantly, they sell VEGAN JERKY! It's made of cactus pads (nopales), and it comes in several flavors. I've had soy jerky in the past, but I've never tasted or even heard of cactus pad jerky. What a great idea! While we were deciding what to get, we started chatting with the store owner, Hans. He offered us samples of jerky (unfortunately he didn't have samples of the vegan jerky, but my husband said the meat jerky was delicious), roasted peanuts, and tastes of various marinades. FYI, they sell drinks and you'll probably need one after trying these spicy samples. Hans is really friendly and into everything spicy, and we ended up talking for a while about hot peppers, ethnic cuisine, and cooking. He's a wealth of information and is happy to share it with anyone interested. Since I couldn't sample the vegan jerky, I went with Hans' recommendation and purchased the carne asada cacus jerky. We also bought a bottle of Caribbean jerk marinade. I really liked that everything was made with real ingredients like juices for acidity and high quality spices for seasoning. You can really taste the difference. The cactus jerky is delicious: salty, spicy, bright, and a bit chewy. We've used the marinade for grilled tempeh and it too is excellent! You can really tell that each product is made with lots of care and love. I'm looking forward to returning for more goodies the next time I'm in the area. 5 stars! read more

Stopped in today for a protein fix. For variety, they seem to have quite a bit of Jerky flavors although the vast majority head in the spicy direction and they only have beef and turkey (unless I missed something). They will let you try samples and I have to say the meat was very tender. The carne asada was a little on the dry side but the other meats were soft. I was not that impressed with the spice. The triple threat had a little kick at the end but I expected a burn the tongue flavor. Still, it was hot enough to burn my eye when I rubbed it. To sum up, give it more spice, less brown sugar and take a buck off the price, When you buy 3, you still pay $7.00 for each 3.5 oz bag. read more

We told him we were going to Las Vegas for the weekend and he asked us if we could get him some of JoJo's jerky....we had no idea what that was to be honest. Nice local shop which produces their own stuff. No additives or preservatives. Seen them around at various events like Yelp! Helps, farmer's markets, etc. until finally they got their own B&M store in the new Downtown Container Park. My two favorite flavors is the triple threat (2nd spiciest) and the hell on earth (top spiciest with ghost peppers). Tender cuts of meat with their own "secret" rub and spices. They also have peanuts with these seasonings as well (not sure if they have a hell on earth but triple threat is a favorite among an out-of-town friend). Nice deal they have. 3 for $21 i believe ($7 ea, normally more if bought separately) but the only exception is the Hell on Earth which is $1 extra, due to the extra ghost pepper ingredient. read more

Located in container Park it is locally owned and operated. I love hot sauces although my stomach begs to differ. They have a amazing assortment of sizes to cure your own meets or to season barbecue stuff with. The guy running it was pretty funny and very knowledgeable. He let you try anything you want before you buy so you know exactly what you're getting. They have a lot of unique flavor pallets that they promote that are their signature brands. If you don't like it hot go for something more mild or frankly... Weak sauce :-) all in all I'll be going back there to re-up my supply of hot wing prep. Stuff when I get a chance. read more

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this diamond in the rough of container park after our walk through Fremont street. We initially walked in based upon their window sign that said "nut sacks". Doesn't take much to lure us in. The man working there, we think was the owner, was nothing but friendly and funny. He gave us some samples to try and won us over with his meat. It was a cold, dreary day in Container Park and my husband and I were lured into JoJo's Jerky by free samples. There were a few other customers milling around and we were all offered a bunch of different jerky and hot sauce samples - they guy working there was so, so nice. They've got a ton of varieties here so it was hard to choose - left with some bbq brisket jerky which I'm excited to try. They've got seasonings, sauces, nuts, even vegan cactus jerky. Opened up all 4 bags of the jerky we just bought today as we got to the hotel.. I'm mad lol. This is the WORST jerky ever. I've tried the samples at the shop but what's wrong with the rest of the jerky?! It feels like they don't taste the jerky before packaging it. The Whiskey one doesn't taste like there's any seasoning but whisky and sugar.. bland. The carnesada.. it's so soft, it disintegrated into mushy powdery in our mouth with TON of salt and why is the meat grey?? The Thai chili is grey color too and soft mushy and it's smelly. I'm surprised how the review on here is so high. I'm missing something! Spent 30 bucks on jerky I want to throw it away or take it back and tell them to try it LOL read more

We took the kids on a surprise trip to Vegas. We heard Container Park is awesome so we took them so they could run some energy off. I ended sitting outside of JoJo's and decided to go inside. I was greeted right away and offered samples. The girl working was awesome! She was personable and informative. Excellent customer service seems to be a lost art but not here. She was really great! I tried almost all of the samples and they were all delicious. I also tried flavor nuts and they were so good too! They come in the really cool mason jars, love it. They have a deal if you buy multiple packs. My only knock- hence the 4 stars - I want the same prices and deal online as were in the store. Awesome dry rubs but questionable customer service. What good is a great rub if you cannot to get into the store to buy it? I am almost out of my favorite rub so when I was in town a few weeks ago I stopped by to get more. I arrived right at 10:00 when they were supposed to open but no one showed up. I waited until 10:20 then left as I had to get to a meeting. I was back in town today and I went back, this time later in the morning in case the employee is perpetually late, ha. The door was locked but there was a sign posted saying they would return at 11:25, so I hung out for a while. By 11:40 there was still no sign of anyone, and I left to head to the airport. I want to go back to this place and buy all the thing because everything I sampled was so delicious! The service is very friendly and attentive. I have to say that there are two products in particular that really stood out to me - the Ranch Seasoning and their Simple Jerky. Neither of these have sugar or any added crap! I've sampled the ranch peanuts and they are snacking heaven! They didn't have samples of the jerky, but I'm definitely picking sides me up on my next visit because it's only made with about three ingredients, none of which are sugar! Every once in a while, my partner will cook up an excellent cut of meat or even tofu with sweet and spicy flavor and I'll be like, "Whoa, this is really good! What is it???" And he'll answer the same every time, "That sauce we picked up in Vegas." OK, let's talk about the venue first. Easily accessible from the strip, and the employees are super friendly, knowledgeable about the product, and generous with samples. If you know me, you know I love dirty humor, so lines like "Grab your nut sack" and "Get rubbed and jerked" had me smirking. Considering the quality, location, and the small-business nature of the product, I feel that the prices are reasonable, too. When we asked for recommendations, the guy behind the counter strongly talked up the Spicy Thai Chili marinade, so we decided to try it out. Seven months later, we're still loving it! It's got a spicy sweetness that's very bold without being too salty. Now that I think about it, we probably would have loved any of JoJo's marinades. As spice lovers, we couldn't pass up a dry rub called "Hell on Earth" either. We use it for pretty much everything, and it has kind of a slow burn heat, instead of being super in-your-face spicy. We try to portion it out, though, cause if we used it willy-nilly, we'd run out way too quickly. This secret can't stay in Vegas.
