Very small store with lots of ethnic products! Budapest Deli is HUNGARIAN MARKET in the shopping center right next to Sunset Park and behind the airport. You can experience airplanes flying/landing every few minutes! The most extensive line of Hungarian products in this store! Plus many seasonal items, brands that I highly recommend for trying if you have never been in Hungary to experience Hungarian snacks or food. There is no freshly made food here, it's not a deli! Make no mistake. Although, you may want to try some frozen items. Chocolates are delicious! And right now, the Christmas candies are already available, directly from Hungary. Those are traditionally made and hungarian people decorate their Christmas trees with them! It's very cultural tradition. Also, I love Hungarian bottled soda. My favorite is the Elderberry lemonade! The smoked meat/sausage is great! I buy the "Cserkész" scout sausage and smoked bacon very often. And there is PAPRIKA! Without this spice, food doesn't taste good! If you know how to cook Hungarian food, you must have Hungarian Paprika in your kitchen! Went there for the German bread it was not a good experience, and the bread was not good. They had very little to choose from.

There are many European stores, but this is the only Hungarian store in Vegas. I love the meets, the chocolate. They have cook books, túró rudi, Hungarian bacon, tészták, szalon cukor. I'm shopping around for Szaloncukor (traditional Hungarian Xmas candy) since the place I last ordered from isn't open. Most websites provide a shipping calculator but not theirs, so I called (I'm not local). The woman on the phone was unnecessarily rude and said she couldn't tell me what the shipping cost was until I put an order in because she needs my full address (okay, so can't I just tell you all this on the phone?) She was "too busy" and called me "lady," more than once in an unfriendly way so I won't be ordering from here. Really disappointed that this is how she treats people she doesn't even know, trying to give her business. Reading plenty of reviews as far back as 15 years ago proves to me that she hasn't changed either. That's really sad. I'll be ordering elsewhere. read more

I have never met a ruder Hungarian in my life. No customer service. Seemed too snobbish to talk to me. I made the mistake of telling her how I learned Hungarian. She made it very clear that she could care less. Whenever I do meet other Hungarians, we enjoy each others stories. Not this one. I am embarrassed that I told her something about myself. My ex asked me if she remembered him. I wouldn't disrespect his name by mentioning it. I left there with what I wanted to get, but it's not worth feeling bad. This woman is a snob. Horrible. Great Hungarian / European little market. I was looking for something specific and I've called a few markets in Henderson and this was the only place that carries it for a decent price. The shop is small but has a large variety of products, including a small refrigerated/ frozen section. The lady working was nice and friendly and helped me out. Definitely will be back. I didn't know about this place until I had to cook a Hungarian dish for my International Food party. I looked for Hungarian market and found this store. Looks like it's now called Hungarian market and not Budapest Deli. Located across from Sunset park. This place is somewhat hidden. I noticed there are all types of great imported sauces, sausages, authentic european condiments, cookies, can goods, frozen food and much more. I got 2 packs of Kielbasa, Blood sausages for my bf, and 2 packs of Hungarian sausages. The Hungarian sausages were good, I used it to make Potato Paprikash. I was in a hurry and so I didn't get to browse. In addition, they have CDs, DVDs, Cookware, Cosmetics, souvenirs etc. I believe you can purchase all these stuff online as well. read more

Despite being named after their deli section, this area is severely lacking. Staff are rude and impatient, stock isn't clearly marked, and prices are practically absent. They have a small produce area and limited baked goods, which seem to be outsourced. They do have specialty products in their pantry aisle area and in their refrigerated case, as well as several candies. They only have basic Hungarian items and limited Russian items, stock is a bizarre mix of random items from various eastern European cuisines. I haven't seen any evidence of food made on site or available for takeout, which would be something that could make them standout. I'll stick to Jones Market, even if it's a farther drive. read more

Where should I start? So, I've ordered here about 5-6 times before. Most of the time with problems! :( Last time I ordered some Christmas goodies (2019), all the beiglies were old and dry. I was NOT able to slice them it broke in pieces. When I told to the woman who owns this place was mean and rude and she said her beiglies are fresh. Living in Oregon I have been ordering online from Budapest Deli for over fifteen years, particularly around Easter and Christmas. The shipments are always fast and well packaged. I recently was told about them as a place to get Hungarian goods and items. Sounded good until I called to check my order. I was treated to an extremely rude woman with no customer service. At this point my order is in limbo - no status, no shipping or tracking info, not even a final total for my order - I doubt it will even be sent. I cannot recommend them to anyone. Oh dear! Where should I start? So, I've ordered here three times before. Earlier on the orders arrived pretty easily and quickly, but the woman who owns this place was mean and rude (2005, 2006). Now, for the current story -- the reason I seek to write about my experience: On 12/13/07, I ordered a LARGE order for Christmas; I was worried about the shipping of deli items, so I emailed her. She told me and I quote in translation from Hungarian: "All orders will be sent before Christmas and will arrive at their destination before Christmas." Today is 12/27 and I don't have my order yet. Mind you, my order has Hungarian Christmas candies (for tree decorating) that are now past their season and won't be needed. So I called her to see where the order was; first she started yelling at me. When I asked her if she could cancel the order, she asked me why I hadn't called earlier (and I'm thinking when -- Christmas day?). Then she said SHE THOUGHT that order may have been sent out recently. When I asked when I should expect it, she said she didn't know but I should be patient. I mentioned that she promised in writing before Christmas and she denied it. When I quoted the e-mail she got enraged and started screaming about how difficult her Hungarian customers are. So she tells me she thinks she shipped it. Now, she charges a fortune for shipping ($30 - 60 just for the shipping usually), but she is incapable of telling me if I'll receive this order of meats and other perishables before New Year's Eve. So I am trying to stick up for myself and I ask her if I can send the ($25 worth) of Christmas candies back to her since they're useless now, she yells that "I can send it back to her, but she won't accept the return so I won't get a refund for them." So I ask her about how she could have such customer service and she screams at me, blurting out obscenities and eventually hangs up on me. I rarely say such things, but this woman is a (W)ITCH! PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF THE AGONY OF THIS EXPERIENCE! This woman made me soooo angry with her rude, condescending, uncouth attitude that it made me feel shame about my ethnicity. This was ridiculous. If you're going to order, try Otto's instead -- it's a bit pricier and not fabulous, but you spare yourself the headache. As for me, as you read this, cross your fingers (just as I am doing) that I actually receive this package. read more

Unfortunately Las Vegas is lacking really good deli's. I have been to this one quite a few times. It's good for the basics. If I knew of another Hungarian deli in Las Vegas, I would take my business there. My recommendation is you are wanting a mail order, contact Otto's in Burbank, California. They are truly the best. It is amazing that after 4 years of my last review, this place is still our favorite place for Christmas and holidays. Just placed another grand order as the owner Eva is friendly and they have delicious delicatessen. Bargain hunters who have issue with shipping cost and other gripes should limit themselves to the local supermarket deli section. I had a similar experience. I called to order some stuff for my mom. It needed to be overnighted but I also wanted it to get there on a specific day. I was trying to sort this out with the lady on the phone but didn't want to place my order just yet. The lady on the phone twice asked me if i was calling just to talk about shipping and if I wanted to order anything at all because, "it's not your problem worrying about the shipping, its mine, I'm the business owner and I'll ship it when I ship it." I took as some sort of Hungarian sarcasm I was just misreading. I think at some point she got really frustrated with me when I asked how much extra it was for overnight, and she said, "it's friday...who the hell works on the weekend... business are closed...when you order I'll deal with the shipping and I'll ship it whenever I get to it... What the hell do you want from me lady?" With that I hung up on her. It's too bad they have a such a good selection of Hungarian food, which is pretty hard to find on the west coast let alone Las Vegas. And it's too bad the dumb lady can deal with shipping, maybe she should go to the FEDEX DEPOT IN LITERALLY THE NEXT PLAZA OVER and ask them how it works. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. I ordered at Christmas time. My order did not come until after christmas along with a mix-up in price and shipping. Foolishly, I ordered again from them. My order did not come in time. Supposedly it was packed in dry ice. The meat was thawed. The order was incorrect. I ordered 3 rings of hurka, received 2 rings and 1 ring of kolbasz. The prices charged on the invoice included with the shipped items was not what was quoted in the online catalog nor on the order form I printed out. The postage on the U.S. priority mail box was $14.50, I was charged 15.99, plus 3.50, handling and 4.00 for dry ice which had evaporated by the time I received my order. I was charged 60.00 on my charge card when, by adding up the prices on my order it should have come to 53.48 even including the handling and dry ice. At Christmas I had spoken to Eva, whom I assume is the owner, and engaged in an unpleasant conversation. I have not bothered this time calling and complaining because I feel it will get me no where, but I will never order from them again and suggest you don't either. read more

I live in the San Francisco Bay area and I have never had any problem ordering from this deli. However, I've only ordered on line and never tried to deal with them over the phone and their shipping charges are reasonable. I can't say anything good about Budapest Deli either. I have place my order last Tuesday. Thursday I emailed Eva Kranicz asking her about the status and to find out how much would shipping be, since I could not find that out when I placed my order. She replied to me that the order will be shipped with priority mail on Monday, and how much would the shipping be. Today is Thursday already, haven't got anything and the order hasn't been charged on my credit card either. My next email to be to cancel the order and to thank her for the business we did :). This way of doing business goes well in eastern Europe, but not here. Looks like some people just won't learn, no matter where they live. read more

I placed my order, and while I wasn't sure what shipping would cost, I was very pleasantly surprised by all my Christmas items arrived in less then a week, and the shipping charge was much less then I thought it would be. My suggestion to all others is to stay on top of your order by e-mailing your order information and order number to check-up on the progress of your order. Obviously they are busy, so phone calls are worth less. E-mailing them is the best way and following up every couple of days to make sure everything is in stock and gets shipped. Patience while excited about the order is important... but hey, for such great prices, and tons of stuff on their website, this is the best place! read more

On Dec 13 2012 I stopped at the Hungarian MArket in Las Vegas since I was there for a wedding. We had a bad shipping experience with this outfit and I thought what can go wrong if i pick it up myself. I have spent 300 dollars at this store for various food items and I even had insulated containers for the meat so it will stay cold for the 5 hour drive to Phoenix. upon arrival that day everything went into the frig and 4 days later I am cutting up the smoked uncooked ham and a strange odor hit my nose, I called my wife and she confirmed that the meat was spoiled. The ham was wrapped in a white paper and was not vacuum sealed, the origin was unknown. The cake that I also bought there seemed to be frozen at one time and then thawed out was also inedible. I have just emailed the store and waiting for reply , which probably will never come. My next step is to report this business to the BBB and to the health department of Las Vegas DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN THIS STORE, MAIL ORDER IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS.
