I left my last doctor because they stopped honoring the annual visit!. After confirming two different times, I went for my appointment! They removed a small spot on my toe! I got the bills I was charged for the office visit that wasn't supposed to be on there. There was also a charge for two surgeries- not sure what that second charge was. I have called over 10 times and driven back there twice to try to speak to an office manager. They will not let me talk in person and told me to call! They have called me many times to schedule to redo the margins on what they removed and I have explained to everyone of them I'd like to speak to someone about my bill! They had an employee meeting about people being told their office visit was included and were supposed to call me back after that and never did! Someone is telling us incorrect things when we call and make the appointment and come there and they are not willing to make that good! I just called again today and got disconnected when they were trying to connect me to some Chris they said is the office manager! They say somebody will call me back! The office manager has supposedly gotten over a dozen messages between me calling them, them calling me to schedule another appointment and me going in there to call me back and I have never heard back yet. They sent one of my bills to collections! Horrible management at this place! I would definitely not recommend! I have spent hours trying to fix their mistakes! If I ever hear back from them and get this resolved, I will be happy to update this! Super frustrating I have spent hours trying to correct their mistake! my mom also had problems with them, but hers was Medicare and after a few months of going back-and-forth, they finally corrected her Bill!

I've never encountered this level of poor service from a dermatology practice before. I arrived 15-20 minutes early as instructed, yet still waited an additional 30 minutes past my actual appointment time before being brought into an exam room. The nurse who collected my history spent more time with me than the provider did. My time with Carly Kelleher, PA-C, felt extremely rushed--approximately three minutes in total. While I understand the use of a nurse to assist with documentation, the interaction itself was so brief that it raised concerns about how tightly appointments are being scheduled. It did not feel like there was adequate time allocated for patient care. Additionally, I was not asked if I had any other concerns or areas I wanted to address--which I did. There was also no discussion about recent bloodwork, despite the fact that monitoring labs is an important component of the medication we briefly discussed. Overall, the appointment felt rushed and incomplete, and ultimately like a poor use of my time. I will not be returning to this practice or recommending it to others.

Frustrated, I decided to cancel my last appointment over the phone few days prior, but the office kept sending me bills for missed visits, despite my clear communication about my cancellation. For the last 18 months, I've received these no-show charges, and now my account has been sent to collections. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding this issue. Also the staff are so unprofessional and rude every time i called to explain it. They also billed me for something that I was never explained what that was and i asked to send me an invoice but they never did. Please consider finding a more qualified healthcare provider. DO NOT GO THERE!!

From the time I first walked into the exam room I was treated with empathy and respect. Being prepped by PA Megan a 16 year associate of Dr. Bhatia was wonderful. Dr. Bhatia was amazing. He was kind and explained every step of the way what procedure they were going to do. He talked to me throughout the entire process to keep my nerves at bay. I was bandaged and sent to the waiting room for over 2 hours while the first layer was examined. Then it was back for round two. This time NA Faith was assisting. She was great and gentle reassuring me the whole time. Another layer and again I was bandaged and back to the waiting room for more tissue to be diagnosed this time about 1 1/4 hours. Back to the exam room with NA Faith where I was pronounced cancer free!! Now more fun by younger Dr. Bhatia no relation who is interning who applied several layers of skin graft. Might as well double it up since he said it was very expensive. It was a precision job to do it but it's in place. Then the final bandaging by NA Faith with an appointment back to my Podiatrist for possible plastic surgery. They advise you that you will be spending the day there. 7 hours later they were correct. I left the office with love and respect for everyone that was part of my team. I more than ever agree that 5 stars aren't enough for the wonderful care I received. I would recommend Oak Dermatology for everyone that needs their service. Thank you Staff you are the greatest.

I received a series of Fractora treatments in 2018-2019 from the nurse practitioner Shannon Kimsey…read more At first my face looked great but then developed 2 very large divots on my face. Shannon recommended a CO2 laser of my cheeks to smooth it out. The CO2 laser removed 1"w of my skin leaving the divots much wider and deeper (I was never told the CO2 removes layers of your epidermis) with no follow up care whatsoever throughout the entire process. I became severely depressed and violated at what was done to my face. In 2020, I met with Dr. Bhatt to see what she can do to fix this very large scar on my face left from the Fractora & CO2 laser. Dr. Bhatt recommended 3 Pixel RF8 treatments to reduce the scar and handed me a bunch of cheap miniature moisturizers. I agreed to the Pixel RF8 treatments of which I HAD TO PAY FOR $350.00 each session (Any reputable doctor would do anything to fix "their" errors). Not this one. Dr. Bhatt's daughter performed the every 6 week Pixel RF8 procedure and the last one, I had blood squirting out of the side of my nose and a burning sensation on my upper left cheek. I overheard her tell the girls at the front desk about all the blood squirting out of my face!!! I now have the same large divot and on top of that a very large discolored scar where it was burned by the Pixel RF8. They had the nerve to reach out to me on Facebook and asked me to write a good review. Instead, I repeated what they did to my face with pictures and they blocked me from their FB site. Northwestern University Medical has been working on my face for a year to try and correct the damage done by Fine Skin. Now, its June 2021 and I have to go for a facial fat graft to fill the scar Fine Skin has caused but the burn from the Pixel RF8 will always remain on my face. My attorney advised that I retain all of my records to include statement of work of services, before/after pictures and the doctors notes etc. After signing the release of information form and paid $76.00 for the release, I had to reach out to the Better Business Bureau because Fine Skin would not release ALL of my records after several written requests and phone calls. I was told that Dr. Bhatt will go through my file first and release what she deems necessary. THAT'S ILLEGAL WHEN A PATIENT SIGNS A RELEASE OF RECORDS FORM! Patients are used as guinea pigs; these are not professionally trained people. These people need to stick to "basic" dermatology. Nothing more! My face is permanently disfigured from Fine Skin and has caused severe depression. If I can give 0 stars, I would. If you want any cosmetic procedure for scar revision, etc. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, look at reviews, meet many qualified physicians and if I can help one person by my horror story, then its worth it.

Eleven minutes passed and the phone hung up on me. I then called right back and did the text appointment option. Mind you I am a brand new patient trying to make an initial exam appointment. I sent the text. I got a reply from I believe AI. I explained what I needed to the AI via text ( unusual at best). I initially thought humans would answer. 48 hours later, NO REPLY. So I sent a text, "NO wonder you have such bad reviews, it's been 48 hours since I asked for a callback. This all happened on Monday. Today is Friday. I am a retired physician who had a skin lesion that was badly managed by Dr Kappelman's office. The…read morePA who evaluated me, did the initial biopsy, and then the excision was technically competant, however she exercised poor clinical judgement in the direction of an extremely aggressive approach to treatment, which resulted in an office operation that removed a large chunk of totally normal skin, and took 8 sutures to close. My case had the dermatologist's attention for only the 15 seconds she came into the room to give the nod for the surgery. Whether she looked at or paid any attention to the "lesion" itself is questionable. A shave biopsy had been taken on the very small area of skin on my first visit there. It showed a very low-grade type of basal cell carcinoma....something that was even less likely to be a problem than the standard type of basal cell. Twice before the actual surgery, I suggested directly to the PA that she was being overly aggressive, ie employing an "overkill" approach. That had no effect on her thinking or management plan. When I sat on the table the day of surgery, the PA and the Dr were looking at no lesion, only scar tissue. There was no visible tumor. It had been removed by the original shaving. This was verified because the pathology report from the skin they removed confirmed it. It revealed that there was no tumor there, just normal skin and some scar tissue healing at the location of the original shave biopsy. Yet they proceeded with surgery on my normal arm. The proper management of this would have been to postpone the surgery for 3-6 months and see if anything grew back. That would have saved me from an unnecessary surgery and its related significant expense. I wrote a detailed complaint accusing them of poor clinical judgement and an overly aggressive approach to my treatment, including my concern that their attitude would negatively affect other patients as well. I did hear back from the doctor who denied there was any problem with how it was handled. Decide for yourself whether undergoing surgery for removal of normal skin was a good outcome. I strongly recommend that you avoid this office.
