Rude, pompous, and arrogant man. Exactly the kind of doctor that comes to mind when someone asks if you've ever had a terrible experience with a healthcare provider. I had a phone appointment with Dr. Campbell today, and yes, I completely understand that this is a highly stressful time for healthcare providers - I am one. I made the unfortunate mistake of telling Dr. Campbell that I'm a nurse (I wanted to give him all of the information so that he knew why I was concerned about possibly transmitting something to my numerous patients). He then used this against me, and when I asked him a question, this man had the audacity to say: "Have you even done any clinical rotations at all?" How dare this imbecile question my competence as a provider when I went to him as a patient? I still can't believe how horrible that experience was. Dr. Campbell, if you ever read this, you are precisely what's wrong with the system. You are exactly the kind of provider who practices outdated medicine and does not foster a learning environment for any poor soul who has to work with you. Do better, Kaiser. read more

Pompous, rude, unprofessional bully. I took the day off from work today to take my father-in-law who is terminally ill, and fell 3 times a couple of days ago to see Dr. Campbell. When he came in the room he noticed I had my laptop opened on my lap and gruffly asked me who I was. l explained that I was his daughter-in-law and that I was there to support them and ask a few questions. He say's, "You're the daughter-in-law... why are you suddenly involved?" What the hell kind of question is that? I explained that I am acting as an advocate to take notes and help them understand and facilitate his medical needs. I told him I was also hoping to get a little more information about his medical history because a lot of it gets lost in translation when they try and explain it to us later. He then very pompously says to me, "I'm far too busy to go through his complete medical history with you but you can request a copy of his medical records." I explained that I wasn't looking for a complete medical history, but that I had some specific questions about his pulmonary fibrosis, diabetes and information about long term care. He said he could help with long term care but I'd have to request the records for his history. Then he turned to my father in law and started to tell him about his latest CT scan. I started typing those notes into my computer when out of nowhere Dr. Campbell explodes. In a loud and abusive tone he says, "I DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE to take notes, or use a computer or tape my voice in MY EXAM ROOM." He scared the crap out of me and I was completely caught off-guard. I told him I didn't understand. He says, "It's MY PRACTICE and I can do whatever I want and I DO NOT ALLOW it. No notes, no computers, no taping." I asked him how I was supposed to take notes so I could keep everything straight and he just repeated that he didn't allow it and reminded me that it was HIS practice. I told him that this was my family member and we were here for HIS health. That's when he shouted, "You need to leave the room." I couldn't believe my ears and I couldn't believe what was going on. I was completely shocked and mortified, not to mention embarrassed. I spent 8 months last year as my parents advocate while my mom went through cancer and my dad had medical issues. Not a single doctor, surgeon, chemotherapist, radiologist, nurse, therapist, technician or receptionist told me I couldn't take notes. But, out of respect for my poor in-laws who were also stunned and shocked by the out lash, I choked back what I would have said and done had they not been in the room. I told him I was not leaving the room because I was here for them. So I will sit here and not say a word and shoved my computer and notepad back in my bag. We were in there for at least an hour and as hard as I tried, I could not stop the tears from falling the whole time. I tried like mad to stop but I just couldn't get past the disbelief and frustration of being tongue-lashed into submission for doing right by my husband's parents. I was stuck. If I left the room I wouldn't hear the important health information that I had taken the day off work for. I couldn't speak, I couldn't ask questions or take notes and frankly I was having a hard time concentrating on anything between the tears and my incredible urge to put HIM in his place. At one point he had the audacity to hand me a box of tissue. THAT's priceless. After we left my 82 year old mother-in-law told me that he yelled at her one time and after that she was too scared to be in the room with her husband. Are you kidding me? She is the sweetest, kindest, dearest woman who couldn't hurt a fly. He needs to get a grip on reality. He needs to lose his license. At the end of the appointment he went to shake my hand and said, "I'm sorry we sort of got off on the wrong foot." I didn't say a thing. Wrong foot my ass. He is a BULLY. I have searched for a very long time to find a physician like Dr Campbell. He's knowledge, attentive, respects my opinion and feelings. I am a very complicated case that does not have a happy ending. He jumped right in and cleaned up the mess the other providers made. All while being a man of his word and action. If you want a doctor that is going to listen to BS or powder your fannie, that isn't him. It's very disheartening that so many people speak of him so sharply and list all of these ill qualities but give no basis or example. Also that they have resorted to making fun of him being a Scott. So many opinionated racists out there that are not satisfied with themselves and will never be satisfied with a real provider. His front office staff is horrible. A couple of rude, fat, lazy slags. His office manager is wonderful and interfaces with him incredibly. His medical assistants are on top of things because his standards are high. There's nothing wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with Dr. Campbell. He's been the provider that I have hoped he would be, every step of the way. read more

I go out of my way to give others the benefit of the doubt and I always try to focus on the positive aspects of others, and granted, everyone has an "off-day" every now and then. Me included. What this 77 year old reviewer is missing, is that Dr. Campbell is rude, possesses no fundamental people skills; he's arrogant, narcissistic and has a major "God complex." No way. I had an intake appointment with Dr. Campbell as my new PCP, having moved from a different State. He spent maybe 2 minutes in the exam room with me. That is enough time to say hello, but woefully inadequate if you're talking about reviewing the medical history of a new patient. He said, "You're in good health, right?" I assume this was because I wasn't crawling on the floor speaking gibberist, and my heart is still ticking. After lab work confirmed that I had a UTI, Dr. Campbell prescribed an antibiotic that had 2 indications against my taking it. It could have killed me, landed me in a wheelchair, or caused permanent, irreversible nerve damage. I have found a new PCP who has great patient reviews. I would not recommend that anyone see Dr. Campbell under any circumstances. NO stars would be my honest rating. read more

No doctor is perfect; in my experience (all 77 years) Dr. Campbell is a nice man - he does his job well; appears to work with his patients for an overall treatment plan. Great office staff! Dr. Campbell has great bedside manner and is very pleasant to talk to. He explained the cause of my injury, prognosis, how and why I should be taking certain medications a certain way and why he recommended other therapy modalities to help me recover. He was honest about recovery time and I think he may have seen the panic in my eyes so reassured me that I was already on my way to being pain free. Thanks Dr. Campbell! read more

Dr Campbell is very unprofessional MD in Brentwood. He doesn't care about his patient and besides he will get on the phone and screams at the people who helps his patient. As a qualified MD as he says he is it is so unprofessional for him to NOT understand the needs of the patient but screams. A two year old might understand the need of explained and Dr Campbell is worst then two year old kids. He shouldn't practice medicine if he has no compassion for what he does. Would never recommend him to anyone and advise people to ask around and pretty sure so Done could tell you his violent behavior. I made an appointment 3 weeks ago because his office is rarely open and he must feel that personal time is more important than patients only to be called a few days before my appointment saying the Dr. is going to be out and they need to reschedule. First of all I am kind of stunned that he is 77. I thought he was much younger than that I guess I am getting old. I love Dr. Campbell, he tells it like it is, but listens too. I have no real impression of his staff. I did meet his brother (younger) who is a great guy-respiratory therapist I think. Those who wrote negative reviews on Dr. Campbell seriously need their heads examined. I have been a patient of his for years and he is great. He's very personable. Instead of an in and out visit that lasts 5 minutes or less, (money grabbers) he makes you feel at ease by chatting with you. For K L with 77 years experience, I have 65 years also. Young people don't realize what years of experience actually mean. They will when they get there. Dr. Campbell has always met my needs and has done things to go far beyond that. I can't believe how many idiot doctors there are out there and that's why I have been with Dr. Campbell for so long. If Bob thinks he is arrogant and rude, it's probably because of his own insecurities. And narcissistic? That's a pretty outrageous statement to make after only one meeting. Dr. Campbell is straightforward and tells it like it is. I personally would rather have that than a Doctor who coddles me like a spoiled brat. Do not believe those who say he is not ethical. OK I have to state from the beginning I am a nurse with 47 years' experience. Dr Campbell is by far one of the best practitioners I have encountered. His medical staff is great, front office just OK but that's a trade off. He becomes intimately familiar with whatever issue you have going on, and while he does have strong ideas WILL listen to the patient and work with them. I may have to change due to a change in coverage, which will make me feel lost and casting about for a new CPC. I hope not, because I trust this doctor and whatever some perceive as lack of "bedside manner" he definitely knows his stuff. He also accurately diagnosed a friend of mine for a rare disease that could have killed him had it continued to be mis-diagnosed...but Dr. C knew right away what was going on. So, "bedside manner" be damned, I'd rather have someone who knows what they are doing...And to be honest to the person with the laptop, this is a HIPAA violation unless you produce proof of power of attorney, so he was well within his rights to restrict your note taking for the sake of his patient's privacy. Oh. And he's NOT 77. LOL. read more

I am a new patient of Dr. Campbell's and have seen him twice. My first appointment included a review of my concerns and an initial exam resulting in an order for labs. The second appointment was a complete physical including the lab results and more discussion. My impression thus far is that this doctor is one of the best I have seen over the years. On both appointments Dr. Campbell spent more time than was allotted to address my concerns and explain test results so I could understand them. This doctor is very thorough, taking the necessary steps to create my health profile so he can intelligently address my health concerns. Dr. Campbell shows an interest in what I have to say and gives honest feedback. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone who is looking for a professional who enjoys their work, knows what they are doing and really cares. read more
