During the appointment, the doctor sits across the room and most of the 15 minutes is spent with the doctor fooling around with the computer app and was more concerned with getting a POLST form filled out. She ordered lab work based on my meds. I asked for a urine test--she said they are no longer automatically part of the Wellness exam--I requested the test. My lab results had some issues and they were not properly addressed by the doctor. I called the office, wanting to talk to the doctor, but she does not take phone calls so the front desk gave me a phone appointment with the PA. The PA said I must talk to the Dr. who ordered the lab work. So, now, I have to wait another month to talk with the Dr. At least the PA did order the additional lab work. Prior to this experience, there have been issues with meds and referrals. I guess if you have no health issues, this type of care would work for you.

I called to establish care and spoke with Sela who scheduled me an appointment for March 19th. I let her know that my insurance was a JMPN HMO plan and that I was going to call my insurance to have them post date the change of PCP for 3/1/24 since I'm currently under the care of another physician and cannot NOT have a PCP in the interim. She said that I needed to call and do that first before she could schedule me (why she scheduled me already before verifying is beyond me) she then said that the insurance needed to send them a letter with the reference number. I asked to speak with the office manager at that point and she said she would have her call me back. I then received a call from Amanda who was so rude. She said that it's her office policy that they cannot schedule until the PCP is changed on the card, even though Sela said that the insurance can post date it. She said that it's in the best info the office to do it that way. What about what's in the best interest of the patient?!! What horrible patient care. So a patient can't have a PCP while they wait a month if they have HMO insurance if you want to schedule with them. How does that even make sense. And like I said, I'm currently under the care of a physician for a medical condition and cannot be without a PCP for a month. She then said that her doctor would not treat my medical condition and that their office doesn't agree with disability. She says her doctors will only sign for disability for 2 weeks and that's it. Hmm for someone who is not a physician she was quick to diagnose and tell me what treatment I needed. I cannot believe that the doctor would refuse a medical necessity and I cannot believe that they have such a rude office manager. She also says that she's the manager so she makes the office rules and she made that policy. I asked to speak with the doctor and she said that she wouldn't take my call and that I could email. She then said "I actually don't think I even want to give you her email." So unprofessional. She then said "I'm going to hang up now because we won't be able to have you as a patient." Wow, just wow! I dodged a bullet for sure. If an office manager can be this unprofessional and the doctor allows it, that speaks volumes!!!

She checked me thoroughly and also asked me what treatments have worked in the past. It was nice to see that a doctor trusted that I might actually know somehting about my own body after 40+ years. We discussed a plan of action, she sent the prescriptions to my pharmacy and before I could drive across town they were ready and waiting for pick-up. I had a follow-up appointment two months later so we could discuss how the program was working and if any changes needed to be made. I requested a few changes and she agreed. I did not feel strung along with additional appointments. If you are unsure of what YOUR INSURANCE is not going to cover you should contact them in advance and let them know what you are going to see the doctor for. They can provide you with a quote. Be pro-active and you are more likely to save yourself some money and definitely have better overall health. Your doctor is your health advocate, not GOD. I would highly recommend Dr. Heo and look forward to continuing my relationship with her!

Super hungry.

I'm tired of these clerks/staff (whoever is slotting appointments) rescheduling our appointments without our knowledge. The fact that they call the day before to confirm your appointment then cancels it is unacceptable. A few minutes later a nurse will come in and take you across the hall where the patients rooms are. They will do the regular procedure to checking your blood pressure and weight all that good stuff lol. They will have you wait for the doctor once the doctor will come in and check you out and see what your concerns are. If you need bloodwork they will refer you to a laboratory up the street! Threatening to withhold surgery clearance without listening. Power tripping, instead of admitting her staff was out of line. Her staff invented a procedure and a specialist appointment not required by the surgeon, surgery center and specialist. Holier than thou attitude as well. No one deserves to be put through weeks of drama in their attempt to prove themselves right. Only my multiple phone calls to surgery Center, surgeon and specialist finally resolved the Yee team road block.... Everything they had insisted I needed to achieve had been previously done within the current parameters. I have to laugh and shake my head after being put through a Who's On First, Laurel and Hardy comic bit.
