We chartered the sailboat for a 2 hour cruise for my birthday! It was great for our group of 5 women. We brought wine and charcuterie board supplies, and Captain Max had ice waiting for us. The boat was easy to find and we didn't have to worry about a thing while out on the water. The weather was perfect; not too windy from 1-3pm, but enough to get the sails up. I was invited on a sailing expedition one glorious afternoon/evening and what a lovely time was had by all. Captain Max met us in the cute shopping center and allowed us to use the private restroom before heading out into the water. Note: The name "private restroom" is sort of underselling this perk as it has showers. The boat is beautiful and easily fit me and my 5 sailing companions along with our Captain. There is a table that folds out, so we could all sit around it, taking in the views and noshing on the charcuterie we brought along. What a lovely way to enjoy friends out on the open water...and to make new friends as well. Besides the very lovely Captain, we saw sea lions! I would highly recommend Jolly Sailing for all of your sailing needs. I was extremely impressed with the overall experience and would absolutely do this again. read more

My wife got me a sailing experience for our anniversary last year and we were finally able to take the trip this weekend. Great experience! Max is fun and knowledgeable about sailing the the local area. His boat is clean and comfortable and my wife, son and I took turns navigating the boat while under Max's supervision. I highly recommend this experience to seasoned sailor or novices. I do suggest arriving early for parking on the weekends. We went on Mother's Day and we had to park quite a bit away. Went sailing Friday July 3rd with 4 friends and had an AMAZING time!!! As soon as we left the dock we were greeted by 3 dolphins, and soaked up the sun as we headed to the bay. Once we got to the bay we ate drank and were able to jump in and take a swim. What a perfect way to spend a Friday off! On our way back I learned about 26 knots vs MPH & had a blast getting sprayed by waves. It felt like a ride I've never been on! Max was such a great host, so fun and friendly. What can I say about CAPTAIN MAX!!! Best birthday gift from hubby Captain Max decorated the boat with a birthday banner, really made me feel special. We started cruising out of harbor and just passed the Queen Mary I had that *Oh No* feeling.. crazy thing Capital Max to rescue he shut down the engine and we started sailing.. he told me to take the Dramamine and drink water and look at the Horizon(land) in about 30 min I felt better. Our experience onboard was one of a kind. After moving back to Long Beach from Hawai'i we sought out some good ocean time. His charter service provided just that, and accommodated our group perfectly. Not sure how he's able to bribe the dolphins, but that was a definite highlight. At one point we had about 8 dolphins surrounding us, and they put on quite the show. I'm betting a couple of them escaped from sea world. Max was approachable and easy to talk to.
