Samples for $2.50 per person were provided by the kid working the rum counter. We tasted the different Papas Pilar rums and each were good but the dark rum was excellent. The kid provided a ten minute lesson on the three rums which were sold in shop for up to $550.00 per bottle.

My mom also really enjoyed the Sherry Nojito (their non-alcoholic mojito). It was refreshing, flavorful, and a nice option for anyone who isn't drinking alcohol but still wants a special treat. The staff was friendly and happy to explain the different rums, making the tasting feel welcoming rather than intimidating. If you're in the area and looking to try something local, Hemingway Distillery is definitely worth a visit.

Let's just say...the American way doesn't compare because the Cuban mojito was absolutely delicious! Crystal showed us how to make one from scratch and even made extra for us to try, which was such a nice touch. The original rum was smooth and delicious, but the coconut rum was next level fantastic. Before the tour, we enjoyed piña coladas and Key lime pie out front, which made the whole experience even better. This distillery is a must stop if you're in Key West. The owners, Paul and Crystal, are an amazing couple fun, welcoming, and super cool. Honestly, I wouldn't trade our visit here for any other distillery. Highly recommend!

This place caught our attention with their outdoor sign that said "free rum tastings" and they did…read morenot lie! We stopped in just looking for a sample and were able to take their distillery tour to learn more about how their rum is made and got to sample LOTS of their rums. Overall, everyone was very kind and friendly. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about rum and even taught me some things about rum that I didn't know before! If you are in Key West, definitely check out this distillery!
