I've been to 3 previous clinics for the same issue all of whom could not give me any answers. After meeting Dr Richardson I have renewed faith that I may find an answer here. She is exceptionally professional, friendly and has exemplary bedside manners. The front staff and checkout staff were great. They were welcoming and friendly. They seem to do their job very well. I paid special attention to their interactions with other patients while I was in the waiting room due to having read previous reviews. They treated everyone well and even laughed and joked with a couple patients who seemed to be regulars. The nursing/assistants I met were very kind and friendly. I really enjoyed meeting everyone today. The wait time was almost none at all. I think I was in the waiting room for 5 minutes beyond my appointment time. Dr. Richardson spent plenty of time with me and was thorough. All this despite having an incredible amount of patients arriving and departing the clinic. The only complaint I have with my experience, which really isn't the fault of the practice, is the parking situation. The parking spots are so close to each other and I got definitive proof of that as I was leaving. After getting in my car it notified me it had been jarred.... I get out to see if any damage had occurred and sure enough a big rash on my fender. Somebody hit my car and just left. No note, nothing. I wouldn't be too bothered by this except now it has white paint on its front fender from whomever hit me.

Dr. James, Dr. Chow, and their teams are among the very best of all the medical practices I've ever interacted with in my entire life. I am fair skinned and did way too much tanning in my youth, before we knew how awful it was, so I need to be very cautious about monitoring my skin for potential skin cancer. I have complete trust in Dr. James and her expertise in dermatology. The front desk staff, especially Trina and Renee, is also very professional, friendly, and helpful. I've occasionally had a few glitches with billing but each time I've called they've done their best to fix it in a reasonable time frame.

She frequently interrupted and spoke over me, and one occasion talked at length about her own teenage child that was unrelated to my own care plan. Eczema & problem skin were attributed to "lack of control," rather than discussed as medical condition & symptoms requiring treatment. A requested prescription was refused during a visit, yet the clinic contacted me days later stating the same medication was available (demonstrating Dr. Zimmerman's communication). In contrast, I have seen 2 other physicians at Columbia Skin Clinic and both have been exceptional. While the Columbia Skin Clinic as a whole has some outstanding practitioners, I cannot recommend Dr. Zimmerman.

Free reading time! I've waited longer to see other physicians. Dr. Hunter has always answered all my questions and I trust her. I was treated for melanoma prior to moving. I love education, possible causes and solutions. Not sure I understand the cause, but she addressed the solutions to try for a few mths. Each patient is different, but we must always make sure we not only give solutions but make sure the patients understand what could be possibly going on. I will try her solutions suggested for a few mths, they seem reasonable. Im real big on professionalism and time, she was 38min late for my appt, that's not acceptable. My time is important and she never addressed her tardiness at all. My money and time are important to me. If I was 35min late to an appt or a no show, they would have charged me a huge fee. They make you fill out a form to make sure I understand the policy. I can give a grace period of 10-15min, but not 38min. Don't expect a patient to adhere to policy if your employees are not doing the same. Someone should have addressed this issue before I left. The first impressions are important, this was the first time seeing this provider. Hopefully this will not happen in the future. They also charge a fee of 3% to pay a copay with CC.

I've been going to this particular practice for many years and they have always served me well. Recently they have been acquired by Advanced Dermatology and Advanced Dermatology makes or tries to change appointments via texts that are originating from a call center somewhere in South America. I spoke to a guy, that called himself Benj, because he called and asked if I wanted to change my appointment to an earlier date. As it turns out the date was not available and I asked him what was the confusion. After several conversations between Palmetto Dermatology and Advanced Dermatology, it seems like the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing because there is a lack of communication between the two, which is very unfortunate. I will continue on to be a patient because I like the staff and the doctors but Advanced Dermatology has effectively absorbed and corrupted a very good practice that was functioning well on its own.

The follow up for the procedure I had with him was quick & painless. After check ins, the nurse prepped me mentally and physically for the procedure. She was very professional and kind, definitely the kind of nurses we want to engage with. Dr. Petit's execution of the surgery was less than 10 minutes and painless. I was in and out of the office within 30 minutes or less; amazing! No issues with pain or problems post procedure; testament to Dr. Petit's skill. Only thing the office can do better is follow ups on what they say. I need to do a follow up ten days post surgery and I've called few times. Apparently nurses are the ones who schedule you to see the doctor and I've been told numerous times I would get a call back. Even after leaving voice mails, I never got a return call, so the support team there can do better in communication. Overall, 3.5 star experience and highly recommend Dr. Petit at Northeast Dermatology.
