I am a mom of two young-ish children, and I hadn't worked out since I giving birth to my younger child in September of 2021. My long-term goals were to increase my strength and decrease my body fat while maintaining the little muscle I had...and I was very wary of my ability to do this alone. I was also several months away from turning 40, and my short-term goal was to feel (and look!) good before that happened. I knew Jon was the trainer for me as soon as I met him. I have a very specific sense of humor, and Jon appreciates it. This was very important to me, as it was the only thing that was going to get me over my workout anxiety. I truly felt like I was working out with a good friend, but one who would hold me accountable and push me to be better. Jon really knows what he's doing. I have become stronger, more flexible, and my endurance has improved. I have lost over 25 pounds. I have stenosis in my cervical spine which was damaged many years ago. I have three vertebrae fused as well. Over time, I have developed pain and loss of sensation in my left arm and hand. Since working with Chris, through a methodical program of development, I continue to achieve goals that I did not think would be possible. The ELDOA training has helped me to relieve pressure in my neck and lower back. I have been able to increase the flow of oxygen to these parts of my body and organs that have needed this and continue to. One of my goals has been to be able to play tennis and skiing at a high level without reinjuring myself. Before, I was always hurting myself by doing various exercises or stretches incorrectly. After working with an expert in these areas, Chris was able to create an individual program that works for me. As I progress, he is able to incorporate more advanced exercises and stretches into my program. If things go awry, Chris can immediately address the issue in order to avoid setbacks. Every few months, Chris asks me to fill out an assessment with questions about my progress and goals. The assessments help to give Chris an honest (if you are willing to answer the questions honestly) starting point in helping me to incorporate a personal program that I can continue to benefit from. It has provided me future talking points to help me achieve my goals. The diet program, which I no longer look at as a diet, but a shift on how and what I eat that can benefit my overall health, has been tremendous. I have more energy and I feel better. At the beginning, it was an adjustment but Chris will help you guide yourself through if you are willing to put the effort in. As with anything, it is ultimately you who will have to make the changes necessary for you. It took me a while to accept that but once I had, I started to learn and understand how the body functions more. Chris's coaching approach is a holistic approach. One aspect affects the others. Stretching helps open up the blood and oxygen flow. Strengthening helps your overall health and ability to participate in physical activities. The nutritional aspect helps to fuel and maintain my energy and at the same time to lose the weight that I have unfortunately put on during my inability to work through my pain. With Chris's ability to empathize with what I was and still am dealing with, we were able to achieve things that I never thought I'd be able to do again. Nimble is a nice gym. Everyone is doing some sort of one on one work out class and sharing the space comfortably. I have been there at many hours of the day and it is never too crowded. The facilities are well kept. A lot of great equipment of all kinds. There are showers so you can go before work. They have shower products and provide towels. Signing myself up for RBPT has been the best gift I've given to myself this year. I've been training with Chanice for the past three months and she's the absolute best. I was a super weak student to start with -- I used to go to gym maybe once a month and could barely power through 30min of jogging on the treadmill. My body was so tight that a proper lunge felt super painful. Chanice really paced all the exercises for me; once I became comfortable in a certain level, she'd push me to the next. I see her twice or three times a week and she focuses on different muscles for each class -- no two classes are the same which makes it so much fun! She's also given me stretching exercises to do when I'm travelling to work on my flexibility. And I'm doing more cardio (even kind of liking them now!) because she forces me to lol. Those are really the things I knew I should've done but wouldn't do without her pushing me. I definitely feel I've become stronger, leaner and healthier with the training. Things like squats, lunges, weights feel much easier than before; I can even do some pushups from time to time! Besides the workouts she also watches my meals and gives feedback on the ingredients, portion size, etc. Honestly this is the easiest and most sustainable diet I've been on (and I had tried maybe 187 other diets before this) -- it's been 3 months and I've still not called quits! Surprisingly I've grown to really like eating veggies and fruits too which would be unthinkable prior to my training... I really appreciate that she accommodates to my ever-changing travel schedule and has worked with me at some weird hours. I have a few injuries that impact some flexibility but generally don't limit me (for example, I play competitive tennis and used to box semi-competitively). I also stated I was just looking for general conditioning but hoped that through the strength training I could improve my structure (for example, my shoulders pull forward a little because I need to develop my back a bit). A week passes and I don't hear a thing. I send a follow-up and very quickly hear back with an e-mail response stating that they aren't a physical therapist and won't take me on as a client. I'm somewhat surprised but sent a response clarifying I wasn't looking for a physical therapist just a trainer and seeing who they could recommend. Again, I didn't hear back...I've moved on. I ended up finding an amazing trainer who I've been working with the last few months and the progress has been great.
