On this day he was short staffed but did a wonderful job of getting us all taken care. I was impressed with how thin but sturdy the nails are my fab nails are so beautiful. I have been stuck with going to Foxy Nails for years for my mani/pedi needs and waxing. I have tried salons and they were worse. AT FOXY NAILS, my nails looked worse and lifted and they would ALWAYS BE IN SUCH A HURRY TO GET YHE NEXT PERSON THEY WOULD smudge my polish but I usually just tolerated as I live 55miles from them and I would find out after taking my shoes off at home! My BFF refuses to go back with me because she got a very bad infection to her big toe after a pedicure at Foxy Nails in Spokane and had to get it debrided!!!!! I used to go to jonathan and thought they did great designs. My girls wanted their nails done for the first time. They said "you pick a design from our Facebook and we'll do it perfectly! " myself and one of the girls chose the same design. Neither of them was close. Not even similar. They said a style was "in fashion" so we should choose that. We didn't care about fashion. We wanted what we asked for. The technicians were way too rough with the kids. At 10 and 12 they held still but the sanding was so painful even for me. Jonathan also cussed in front of the kids. That's not the experience I wanted. Finally I got a french tip pedicure. My feet still have calluses and the top coat on my toe nails is bumpy. Also the top coat on all of our nails wasnt sufficient so they have a coarse texture. The services were very high priced compared to other salons and we didn't get what we asked for or the quality of service other places in the area provide. Very sad experience for not only myself but for girls who wanted to have a positive first experience. read more

This place charged $95 to an elderly woman I help care for, for a mani & a pedi. Who did not give $95 worth of service. There was a young woman walking around the entire nail salon barefoot & feeding children in the basement downstairs while you can hear them cry & ALSO setting up pedicure feet bowls for client's. The nail tech then decided to use a MAGAZINE to do the elderly woman's manicure. Did nothing with her cuticles and such. This place did not look clean AT ALL, barely any labeling on their stuff which even owner at one point voiced out loud to a client. When I asked for a receipt or some kind of break down of the service they then were offended saying that they did what they did and that they have cameras! At no point did I say I was NOT going to pay. All I wanted was a receipt of the break down and both nail technicians were being loud, unprofessional, and made it into a bigger ordeal in front of their clientele when all I asked was for a breakdown of the receipt. I will be reporting to the department of cosmetology. You shouldn't work in this industry if you can't HANDLE being told that you did a terrible job & did NOT give a $95 worth of experience., that's how you learn & get better. On top of everything thing else, she KNEW that the elderly woman's memory was not well & forgetful that she tried to get the the elderly woman to tell her that she did a great job even though the elderly woman COULD not even remember anything 5 minutes before the conversation & kept trying to do it especially when I was away at the ATM. I called and made an appointment for a pedicure. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30, and I got there 5 minutes early. I waited until 12:50 to be acknowledged and was asked to wash my hands and then I was seated. A young man started my pedicure at 12:58pm and my pedicure was completed by 1:11pm. I wish I was kidding. The pedicure is about what I might expect for only lasting 13 minutes. I was unpleasantly surprised that my total was $37 for literally 13 minutes of service. I have been coming here for over a year now. Most of the time I just get gel polish on my fingernails, but I occasionally get a pedicure too. I have NEVER been disappointed with the service, the staff or their work. Even on the rare times they have been running behind, they are so friendly and hospitable that I don't even mind it. For my sister's wedding, all the ladies in the wedding party got manis and pedis here the day before the wedding. I called ahead and spoke with Jonathan, who was very inviting to our big group. They offered to close to the public while we were there (no walk-ins), let us play our own music, and bring in our own food and drinks! When the day arrived, we each had our own person to do our pedis first while we drank wine, followed by manicures afterward. The ladies were all very sweet, and Jonathan himself was so entertaining! He was very sassy and cracking jokes at us the whole time. He has a great self-deprecating sense of humor, and he made a great impression on all of us ladies, even my mom :) We left there feeling refreshed and cheerful, with gorgeous fingernails and toenails for the wedding. I would HIGHLY recommend going here for your nails, as a group or as an individual. I heart Jonathan! read more

Last Wednesday my husband and I went to Jonathan's Nail Salon on Newport Highway. I usually do not write reviews, but I just had to comment on our experience, since my index finger is still hurting from the too close cuticle trim. Ironically, husband had a different tech and his cuticle was cut too close also. We are both left with scabs 5 days later. Nothing much to the pedi, where no liners were in the tubs. My polish was slopped on and is not attractive. Definitely will not be going back. Also, the owner is a wisecracker and made one off color remark about "condoms" that was totally inappropriate. I am writing this review for my lovely daughter in law. I purchased a gift certificate for her as a Mothers Day gift....her very first Mothers Day. The owner, Johnathan, made a very rude and crass comment to my DIL about her stomach and clearly his message was a derogatory one about her being "fat". Jonathan was very rude. Came in because I had seen good reviews on this place but that wasn't my experience. Had a 3 appointment asked jonathan a question about the nails and the price, he immediately had an attitude. My knowledge on nails isn't very good so that's why I go to nails salons like Jonathan nails in hopes they can explain the process and answer any questions I have without having an attitude. Excellent quality work and eye for detail. Jonathan fixed a very painful & troublesome split nail (created by someone else) and provided aftercare instructions as well as advice. A youngster in her 20s, that does acrylics, is so hyper and doesn't listen well. The lady that did our feet was good! That same lady did one of our hands nails... good job! Then... the youngster in her 20s... oh my... she has issues. Did a lousy job on the acrylics... way too much glitter... way too talkative... very foul language - cussing at the radio... very unprofessional... bossy... need you hear more?!?! Then the ultimate... prices are out of this world... an enormous rip-off for the quality of work... $139.00 (without tip) for 2 pedicures nails colored, 1 manicure nails colored only, and 1 manicure with very poorly done acrylics. Would never go back. The owner is not a as funny as he thinks he is. I've never considered being ripped off as funny. I've been to salons all over the country in my travels and a scrub is ALWAYS included as a basic part of a pedicure service. I've never been to a salon who charges extra if you actually deign to want the full service you're paying for. It was really kind of laughable. A pedicure almost everywhere else in the country is $25. Not at Jonathon's. It is $32, and as I said, you don't get a full pedicure for that price. That wasn't the bad part. Our pedicures both smeared because the polish was put on too thickly and they both have started to chip away, although it's been only two days. My daughter's gel manicure which would have cost $28 at home cost $40. The girl did a good job on her nails; we're hoping they last. Jonathon told a woman who came in to inquire about gel manis that they last 2-3 months! In what universe? That pretty much turned me off from this place.I don't appreciate liars. Ravi was sweet; she just doesn't do a good job on polish. Neither did the young man who did my daughter's pedi. Needless to say, we won't be back. In fact I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to since we were not only dissatisfied with the service and product, but the owner is downright rude when speaking to customers. read more
