After comparing some programs and prices, we went with Revolution Prep because we needed a flexible program due to other activities, trips and camps. We appreciated that we could be matched with someone who could work around our schedule and on evenings and Sundays, when she had more free time. It was very convenient for me, as a parent, to not have to drive her anywhere. For her, she appreciated being able to sleep in and wake up just 5 minutes before her session and that she could sign onto the session from anywhere with an internet connection, for example, at a hotel when we were on vacation. The sessions were personalized for what my daughter needed to or wanted to practice. I felt that this was key because she did not have to sit through instruction on subject matter that she had already mastered or have anyone else slow her down, which is what would have happened in a group class. She began by taking one initial practice SAT to get a baseline for her skills and after that, she took 6 additional practice SAT tests. You should be aware that the student will need to set aside plenty of time to do these timed practice SAT tests (3 hours in one sitting each) in addition to working on problems on their own. The tutor was exceptional. We realize that with this type of program that is done via video conferencing, there is a larger pool of tutors available than a local tutoring center. My daughter's tutor was a very experienced high school math teacher from out-of-state who had seen every type of math SAT problem presented and could show her not only how to solve the problems, but how to be most efficient when doing so (i.e., solving vs. back-solving). She also gave many tips and tools to tackle the Verbal sections. We could not be more pleased with how things turned out for our kid. It took a lot of hard work on her part and it was essential having the tutor walking alongside her and not only tutoring the material, but giving her confidence about her skills. Her success would definitely not have come so easily if she had taken a class or tried to do self-study. The 1:1 personalized training or tutoring might not have been the most affordable choice, but we certainly cannot argue with the results (scored in the 99+ percentile) we got by using Revolution Prep.

I searched high and low (including online tutoring sites that let you choose your tutor) the outcome was fruitless.  Tutors who swore to have years of experience either were not as familiar with the material as they claimed or could not eloquently TEACH it. Also, the companies that charged ridiculous amounts like $150/hr did not show much for it. I know this because when trying Tutor Me LA, I also hired another tutor from a high-end tutoring company and Tutor Me LA's tutor was not only cheaper but MUCH MORE proficient.  We needed a few tutors - A gmat tutor, LSAT tutor, and a Math tutor. EVERY SINGLE tutor Tutor Me LA sent over was great. Their Guarantee took any hesitancy we had about scheduling a session and now I see why. All work was conducted during the COVID pandemic using Skype. Scott was very effective in relaying the material via the video sessions. Early on he conducted diagnostic testing to tailor the plan of action for my daughter. This helped him to direct my daughter's studies to focus on areas where she needed improvement. Scott is able to clearly identify the strategies for attacking the types of questions in addition to reviewing the general knowledge. My daughter found the tips and strategies to be very beneficial. Over the course of the study period she was able increase her scores on practice tests for both the verbal and quantitative reasoning sections.
