From pre-brief covering everything from the planned flight activities to some of the physics involved in performing the maneuvers and all the safety aspects of the flight as well, these guys are pros. The 'Stallions are fully-functional dual control, so you get to fly from the rear seat. And this beautiful bird wants to fly! We did rolls, loops, even some formation flying. They also include a video of the entire flight, along with a beautiful hard cover book of the last time a large number of Mustangs gathered for an exhibition. My pilot John "Homer" Black is also a certificated flight instructor so he signed my pilot logbook, which is like gold to a pilot. Considering the value of these aircraft and the uniqueness of the experience the cost is quite reasonable. I'm already considering my next opportunity to visit Stallion 51!

SIMCOM's instructors were professional, knowledgeable on sim scenarios, friendly and apologetic at times. I had two different seat support who were sick during my sim training. My sim instructor and the program manager were so apologetic but I had a positive attitude and it happens. Glad they're okay and felt better. Everything was handled professionally and my checkride was only delayed by a day. The CJ3 program manager, Mike was always professional and maintained good communications during the process. This was my second initial training so this process wasn't as stressful then at the airline level which I experienced, just learning a new aircraft. Always come prepared before training. Look forward to recurrent.

I arrived at 7am for some ground instruction then a pre flight inspection and off we went. I had an absolute blast on the next three flights (2 the first day, 1 the morning of the 2nd day) learning how to fly the J3 and the different aspects of seaplaning! The checkride was after the morning flight the 2nd day. I felt prepared and was able to pass. I have my commercial ASES and couldnt be more excited about it. My instructor, David, was super patient and very helpful - great teacher and coach! This was a lot of fun and I am sad it only lasted 4 flights!

Took my dad here for a fathers day gift, and decided to get a flight myself. I thought that Dad and…read moreI would take two gliders in the same plane, and was dismayed to learn that we would not- we each had to wait while the other was up. Luckily, the facility was very pleasant to wait in, and the employees I spoke to were friendly and encouraging (I am also a student pilot). However, the actual glider flight left something to be desired. Each flight lasted approximately 30 minutes, and both mine and my Father's flights consisted of recycled spoken material, an unwillingness to give us the controls and tedious circling looking for thermals. I chose to go the highest we could, and not once did the instructor let us do anything exciting or give me the controls for even a fraction of a second. Flying and weather will always be variable. But even the lady at the front desk was surprised about my flight. In addition, my 60 year old father and myself were forced to walk from the glider to the building multiple times in the hot Florida sun, despite the presence of a golf cart. They just did not feel like moving the golf cart around multiple times. On a positive note, the grounds and facility are beautiful. They even did an entry in my Glider log-book, for about .6 hrs of flight. I feel guilty with that entry though- I absolutely did not learn a thing. It was clear my instructor was incredible knowledgeable- he was just not interested in sharing any of it. I think they really want to do glider add-ons, and do not enjoy the short single flights that many people come here for. I would consider coming here for a glider add-on since they have a room availible on the premises for approx 35$. That's a great deal! On a final note, if they want to just do glider add-ons, just don't offer an intro flight! If not, please embrace the intro flights. Instead of a cold, sterile and unexciting instructor/flight, make it an enjoyable experience. Even one loop or lazy-8, or even a turn steeper than 30 degrees would have changed my opinion of my flight. Embrace the fun that gliders can be, and put a pilot in the cockpit who actually wants to be there and talk to people.
