My first appointment at Salon Dulay for a color balance and cut exceeded my expectations. The salon itself is very upscale and resembled more of a spa which added to the ambiance. While waiting for my service (and even during it) I was able to help myself to a quick snack (or two). However, the highlight for me was definitely their hair washing station as the sinks have a very comfortable neck rest and for added comfort they provided me with a rolled up towel to place under my neck and even a step stool for my feet. Additionally, as a first-time client I was able to get a $25 discount, a thank-you note from the owner, a curated bag of Aveda travel products and coupons for my next visit. Stopped by earlier this week for my first time to get my hair cut and was pleasantly surprised with the service. My hairstylist was Emily and she was so kind and made sure I absolutely loved my hair cut before I left. I did the complimentary scalp analysis which was really cool and, although I have "normal" hair with no dryness, oiliness, etc, I opted to do the scalp treatment and it was sooo nice. I called for a last minute appointment because I cut my hair on a whim rather than planning out. When the phone was answered, Ben picked up and was super helpful. He asked me a few questions about my hair type and then got me an appt for later in the day. However when it was time for him to leave he schmoozed with every client and said the same thing to them...except me. It was odd. I walked in a few mins early and got checked in. I was offered a beverage. My appointment started almost 30 mins later than scheduled. My haircut came out great. It was shorter (I asked for it to be a bit longer so I can still put my hair up when I run) than I expected but its hair, it will grow. The only disappointment I had was that I was not washed because there were no open sinks. I was interested in the aveda products with everything I've read. Also with dry cutting I found a few long hairs I had to cut myself. I would give this place another go or try a different location. 3.8 stars. read more

Do not come here if you have curly hair. I repeat DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR. I came in with my curly hair and showed lots of pics to the stylist and explained in detail how I would like it cut. My original hair came to the middle of my back and had no layers. I wanted wispy face framing bangs and for the rest to be cut at my shoulders with layers to give it more shape. I was quoted one price on the phone and when I gave the details the stylist said it would cost more because it was a transformation cut?? I agreed bc I thought well you get what you pay for right? if this is going to be a "transformation" then she would take extra time to get it how I described. I also very clearly explained that I don't straighten my hair anymore bc I wanted to take care of my hair and wear it naturally and not damage it. The overall experience of getting my haircut was good. The hair washing was my favorite bc she really massaged my scalp and my arms which I was not expecting. She then cut and styled my hair.she blew my hair out to make it straight which looked super cute and she assured me it would look good when curly. Now that I've washed it and let it curl naturally I can see where bangs have fallen and it's not pretty. The bangs are awkward and do not frame my face well they are too blunt and not blended well. The length is close to what I wanted and the overall shape of my hair is also pretty blunt with no real shape to it. I'm disappointed bc now I have to spend more time and money to find another stylist to fix it. The bottom line is that this is a good place to go (the vibe is nice and everyone was kind) but only if you have straight hair. read more

I got a haircut cut, scissor cut yesterday. I received a text expecting to $61 not realizing that wasn't my stylist. After my cut the woman says at the register %20 tip, I said sure, then she says $102.00. I felts like I was at Charlie's steak, and not receiving the steak. I explained what I paid last time, she did something that brought the price down to $92. Mind you I'm a guy with a simple cut. I called back and spoke to the manager I think? He has Richard Simmons kind of look ??? Anyway he explained that my stylist was a level for, would I basically want to got back to a measly $61 cut... I always get a short haircut, nothing fancy. During my visits within the past year I have been: 1. Provided a substitute hairdresser cause my original stylist had to do an extra service. 2. Waited 35 minutes cause my stylist was finishing up an extra service on another client. 3. Contacted the morning of my appointment to change the time. I accepted the new time. 4. Today, an hour before leaving for my appointment, from work, I was called and asked to come in an hour later. I cancelled the appointment and plan to never return. Ok, I am an Aveda guy all day long. Like most Aveda Salons, Salon Dulay is a clean, neat and professional looking salon. I love the Aveda Mint tea but when they offered beer as an option I helped myself to a couple Blue Moons during my time. Being a guy that does not want clippers doing the work, I got a wonderful sheer cut starting with the Aveda head massage. My Expert spent about 50 minutes making sure everything was perfect and I left relaxed, looking good and a happy with my experience. This is definitely on the higher end of quality, professionalism and cost. With tip, I spent about $70 for a men's cut and booked my next visit. I've been getting my hair colored for years, but finally let it grow all out. When it was time to recolor my virgin hair, I looked to Rizzieri to get the job done. I booked my appointment with Ally (after reading her stellar reviews) and was AMAZED with her! She did a thorough consultation before diving in, asking me about my hair routine, hair type, and my overall expectations. I showed her a couple hair inspos via Pinterest, and she brought it to life!!! You can tell Ally really cares about her work and is passionate about what she does. She put energy into everything she did, from the coloring to the styling. I especially loved that she said she'd never let a client leave with a wet head because it's not reflective of her work. I had the most amazing experience at Salon Dulay in Dr. Phillips! I had a hair emergency due to too dark of hair and spotting application. I called and spoke with Ben and he talked me through what I currently had for hair and my goal. He took the time to understand my hair history and ultimately what I needed. He also helped calmed me as I was really disappointed with my current hair. I was able to get a hair consultation that day and met with Taylor. I explained the situation and my goal. She talked me through options and what was achievable and gave realistic timelines. We decided on a plan and yesterday we put it into action. The experience from start to finish was phenomenal. I was greeted so warmly by the staff at the front and then got into Taylor's chair. She was friendly and real, had a great time talking with her. The area where they take you to rinse out the color was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep twice just because the sounds and smells felt like I was at the spa. I tell you I almost cried because of how amazing the results were. I know what the plan was, but Taylor surpassed what I thought was possible. I went from hating my hair and hiding it under a hat to being so obsessed with it and this is only the first step on the journey we discussed. I always frequented AVEDA salons, and I am used to the quality and service offered at AVEDA salons. Salon Dulay surpassed every experience I have had. The quality of service was consistent during all of my interactions at the salon, from the person who answered the phone (Lisa, I think), to the colorist (Alexis, who did an AMAZING job with my color), and Janee (who cut and styled my hair). It was my birthday month and they gave me a lovely gift beautifully wrapped, set me up with a desk to work while I got my color done, and checked on me MANY times to see if I wanted another drink or snacks. And, what I'm truly impressed with is that this is a team that takes pride in offering excellent service. When I checked out, it was no different. Service is top notch here, and is my forever salon! Danielle has impeccable attention to detail and is the absolute best at her craft!

Madison completely messed up my hair. I was booked for the wrong service but she assured me we could get the same look with a touch up instead of a balayage. She was not able to create the same look. Instead, you can see a line where my previous color was and the color she placed looks copper. On top of ruining my hair for 200$ she gave me one of the WORST cuts I've ever had in my life. (Cut cost 89$) I asked for long bangs and layers and instead I have something that looks like I did it myself. The layers aren't even on either side of my face and the curtain bangs I asked for..... looks like fringe bangs with a bad gap. When she couldn't style it in the salon she told ME to go home and try to style it with my Dyson air wrap like what. Isn't it supposed to look the best it will ever be in the salon? I cried in their bathroom and all the way home because of how awful it looks. Will not be returning. read more
