Jon is horribly rude and has no accountability for the work that's done in his shop. I came in to ask to have him look at something one of his piercers had done and he said because it was done in 2020 and it's now 2023, he told me "and that's our fault how? You're the one that wants to change out your piercing. So because you just now want to change your piercing and can't that's our fault?" It may not be your fault but you're not going to fix the issue and hold your artists accountable for their mess ups AND blame the customer because they didn't come straight back? Sir, the reaction you gave me was why it took me so long to come back. You just proved me right in the sense that no matter what y'all did, I'm wrong. I'll be sure to spread the message across everywhere I can review this. "That's not my fault" is the last thing you say to someone giving you money for a service. read more

Worst customer service and work I've dealt with. Came with a question about a piercing that was done three years ago and was immediately told everything was my fault. Didn't take the time to even look at what was the issue or ask why did it or even made sure my piercing was done there. I was met with ignorance and unprofessionalism. Not even willing to take a look at a mistake that was made. The piercing in question was incorrectly done, as the other ear was looks and acts different. To not even take any responsibility for the shops actions and take accountability for a mistake that was done is extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. I recommend going elsewhere for ANY tattoos or piercing. If they mess up it's never their fault and they'll try to blame everything on the customer. read more

I've been here a few times and have had good experiences with Jon and Rachael. However this last time, I got a tattoo with Lin. When I went in to talk with her about adjusting one of the colors I wasn't happy with she seemed more upset about my not being happy with a color she thought was fine than with trying to help me fix it. I don't know how to mix colors to lighten this one I wasn't happy with and instead of trying to make suggestions as to how we could best do that, she kept saying I didn't know what I wanted and things like "In 10 years it could fade completely since it depends on how people's skin take the ink." I don't understand what 10 years from now has anything to do with my not liking it now. Like you expect me to live with it for the next couple years on the off chance it fades to something I do like? She wasn't rude in her tone but came across offensive in what she said and I wouldn't go back to her. read more

The bad review on here is funny, at least they told you they were out of needles and didn't poke you with a dirty one. If their demand is so high for college student piercings, need to wait until new shipments of clean needles come in. Duh. Anywho, I love Jon's work, and he's a blast and super nice and funny. He also has the most lightest touch for a tattoo artist. Very clean and sterile shop, and super professional. If I had more thumbs I'd give more than two thumbs up. read more

I have gone to Jon's for over 10 years. He is reliable and professional. Tattoo is an artform- sometimes it can be difficult to fit into a time slot. Realistically, plan to have a little buffer time before and after your tattoo appointment. I'm amazed that there have been some negative responses from others in the past- I'm not surprised to see that those reviews came from people new to the tattoo world. There is an understanding at Jon's- that the person in the chair's appointment may go over time, but if it does, it's because Jon or whichever artist who the customer is waiting for is doing a thorough job on the tattoo they are working on. Honestly- would you want them to rush your tattoo just to get to the next appointment? I love that Jon is certified and takes an annual course in blood borne pathogens- this is something he also requires of all of his employees. Per protocol, his shop is inspected every year to document the clean environment there. Jon has received The award of "Best Piercing/Tattoo Shop" by The Tribune in 2015 (I believe he has won this award more than a few times). I am a 36 year-old husband and father. I encourage everyone I know to visit Jon's Custom Creations for their tattoo needs. Plan ahead though- usually the wait is at least a month out. read more

I had a tattoo done by Wil last night and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It was a cover-up job for a bad tattoo I got almost 12 years ago (not from here). This was only my second tattoo. I was beyond nervous getting this done because the first tattoo I got (12 years ago) hurt so bad it scared me from ever going back to get it fixed. I am beyond a wimp when it comes to pain! Wil was so patient with me. He started off slow and kept asking me if I was okay or needed a break. It turns out it wasn't half as painful as I was expecting and I think it had a lot to do with Wil's technique. The tattoo turned out awesome! The way he customized the tattoo to blend in the old one is amazing. The lines and points on my tattoo are perfect! I will LOVE this tattoo for the rest of my life; no more hating my bad tattoo job!!! read more

I got 2 piercings here a couple weeks ago and have had problems with both of them so far. When getting the piercings, it did not seem very sanitary compared to other piercing shops I have been to, but I went through anyway. The piercer struggled to get the jewellery into my ears for a very long time, but finally got them in. A little over a week later, one of the piercings fell out of my ear. I have had close to 15 piercings and this is the first time that has ever happened. I got a new piece of jewellery in my ear and went about normally. Fast forward a few days, my other piercing is started to become super infected. Swollen and red and bleeding. A couple days later, while cleaning the piercings, the OTHER piercing falls out, but only after the diamond stud at the front of it became embedded in my ear. Now I am at Urgent Care having to get my ear cut open to remove the piece of jewellery from my ear while my ear is leaking blood and puss. I would definitely never get a piercing done here again, the work looks good and they are very nice here at the shop, but I have never had problems like this with a piercing before. read more

Planning on coming here in the future, just went in when I needed help on some piercings. I had a ball fall out from my snug and the piercer helped me out and gave me a new jewelry, along with my belly button I had problems with the bar being to short they went out of their way to take a straight bar and curve it so I had more room for the piercing to heal. They were super nice and friendly. read more

Very experienced artists so I would go back in a heartbeat, and anyone who knows me knows I'm heavily tattooed so it takes a lot for me to say that! I never got a tattoo done here, but that's because the lady never drew it for me! I came in with a drawing and asked her to redraw it because she's actually an artist. Instead she emailed me and said that she didn't feel comfortable drawing something that she wasn't sure would look good as a tattoo. Who's decision should that be? read more

Really professional tattoo shop, they're generally busy, so plan in advance, and they're totally honest with prices, They've never charged me for designs or anything like that. I've had work done by more than one artist there and each tattoo has turned out awesome. Both Jon and Wil have been tattooing for a really long time, they both have walls full of awards and they aren't just in it for the money, if they don't think something will work, they will tell you why and what would work better. I think they're the oldest shop in town, and probably the busiest, and there is plenty of reason why. Really trust this place with my skin, recommend them to everyone I can. Very poor business ethics. Losing potential customers and chasing off established ones. This place is a joke. It is absolutely disgusting inside. My friend and I had appointments 3 days in advance, we were even a couple minutes walking i the door and were told by the girl scheduled to do our piercings that she was going to call us to tell us our appointments had to be rescheduled for the next evening because they had no clean/sterile kits left. "You are a priority and I promise to send you a message later tonight and let you know what time to have you come back." Next day I send her a message asking what time should be be there (bless messenger for time stamping when the message was read). 4 hours later I call the shop and she answers and I tell her who I am and asked if she got my message, "no I haven't had a chance to look at my messages yet." I forgot which piercings you and your friend wanted again?" After explaining again I was met with the answer, "well the guy that was supposed to watch me isn't in till tomorrow afternoon. Can you and your friend come in then?" I had to explain to her for the 5th time that my friend is driving from Longmont and now we have been bumped from our original appointment twice. She stated she would talk with Jon and see if he could watch her do the piercings when he was done with a tat and could call me back. No phone call at all!! Now Saturday with 2 phone calls and a message into her and no response at all. Is this the kind of business that is run? Maybe have some amazing artists, but if you cannot get into see the artists themselves, due to have dirty needles. Appointment bumps, no common courtesy. We are taking our business elsewhere and spreading word of mouth to go elsewhere as well. We had our other piercings done 6 weeks ago at millennium and had an awesome experience, but thought we would try with Megan since she is a new apprentice. We have heard bad reviews about Jon's but thought we would try and form our own opinion. WOW!! Nope!! Back to millennium we go!!! It's cleaner, friendlier, everything is out in the open on display. At Jon's when we asked to see Megan's portfolio she didn't have it, didn't have any pictures of recent ones she has done. No other pictures in the shop of any other piercings. Couldn't even see any jewelry the had to offer. Shady..very shady.. Stick with reputable shops. Go and look and the shops, ask for portfolios and jewelry. If a shop has no clean/sterile packs available, no jewelry to show. Cannot keep an appointment, cannot call you, or even has your name written down...RED FLAGS!!! read more
