I recently was in the process of shopping for a new blazer and slack combination for an upcoming event. And decided to try the Jos A. Banks Men's store at the Clay Terrace shops in Carmel, IN. I was greeted by one of the salespersons and she helped me with my selection of clothing. I was extremely pleased with the customer service, prompt and courteous. The salesperson was very knowledgeable on the products and guided me to a quick selection of what I was looking for in clothing. The quality of the product is good and should last me a while, but what was most important is I was able to receive prompt service. Thanks again to the sales staff and manager at the Jos A. I was looking for a lightweight quilted vest but theirs had vertically accessible pockets instead of the typical angled pockets.

Items were out of stock and the female associate was very condescending and not accommodating at all.

I hadn't been to a Jos A Bank since before Clay Terrace existed, so it was nice that there was a new store closer to me. I just needed to get a Christmas gift suit tailored and return some things. They had to order a replacement coat from out of store. This all lead to 3 visits, all of which were very well handled. I strongly recommend you ask for Ben Thomas. Not that anyone else there was terrible, but IMHO Ben is hands down most professional and courteous person there (or that I've seen in any retail store for years.) read more

If we could go back and order our tuxes from anywhere else we would. Back in April, 4 months before our wedding, we went in to arrange everything. We were told the tux that we chose goes as small as 2T (our ring bearer is 2). Our ring bearer went in and was told that it only comes in a 3T. It actually only comes in a 3T but we were misinformed. So we had to figure out an entire different outfit for him that goes with everything. On top of that, we were told because of how many we were renting, my fiancé would get his tux rental for free as well as either a $500 gift card to Jos. A Bank or a custom fit suit. He chose the custom fit suit. We go in today to find out that they had changed this OVER A YEAR AGO, where you can only get 1 of the three options no matter how many tuxes you rent. There was so much misinformation and honestly has made it more stressful for us the month before our wedding. Honestly, they should give my fiancé what he was told to get. It's not our fault that your employees tell us something and writes it in the profile notes. But also especially after how we based our tux selection from Jos. A Bank on the fact that it came in a 2T!!! read more

I tried to return/exchange 2 shirts the day after I purchased them with cash. I had the receipt, tags still on them. The manager, Van, refused the return stating "all sales final ". There are no signs stating that. Could it be she just didn't like the way I looked? After 30 of being a customer, never again. read more

Came in for an appointment to get my fiancé fitted for a suit for our wedding. When we got there, no one greeted us. When we found someone to help us, the lady was confused like she wasn't expecting us even though they just called us yesterday to confirm? We wanted a dark navy or blue suit to rent. She showed us 2 options that were not going to work for us and then told us to come back in April when they have more. Why could this not have been mentioned on the phone yesterday before we took time out of our day to come to the store for this appointment? We were in the store for a total of 5 minutes. Waste of time. Also none of the staff were not friendly at all and not professional. Not the people I want to be getting wedding day attire from. read more

Extremely rude. Not at all what this store used to be. Walked in the store with my friend and her 15 year old son to get outfitted for homecoming. We had a nice man getting ready to greet us and as soon as he was about to say hello, a person standing at the register shouted "WE CANNOT FIT HIM HERE!!!!" I said excuse me...the whole store turned and looked at him, he was mortified. We were not in the store for one minute before she yelled from across the store. First of all that's HORRIBLE customer service and we will NEVER return and this is where my friend and I would outfit our husbands with suits. Not anymore. This person could have gone about this a very different way. It was a disgusting display of rudeness. I ran into a friend at another store later that day that said they had the same experience at the same store with the same person. Not sure who hired this person but not a good move. Kindness goes a long way. Unfortunately we won't be back. Hopefully that person doesn't ruin for the other people who are actually nice and trying to help customers. read more

I should have heeded instinct when the man said "trust me". I ended up with a poor fitting suit, with a jacket that was too tight in the shoulders. To add insult to injury, he gave me two shirts that were more like tents, hugely over sized. Again, I should have heeded my instincts rather than taking his assurances that they were the right size. The only upside to this horrible experience was the seamstress making timely alterations in less than 24 hours. To bad the clerks uninformed service was not up to the same level of performance. In the end, I did get the suit in time for the funeral. But is was such a poor fit, I was uncomfortable through the entire event. At least I found a proper fitting shirt at Kohls in time for the service. I did learn from the experience to never let a smug salesman talk you into something you aren't comfortable with. Afraid I would never recommend a Jos A Banks to anyone. Off the rack would be better. read more

Others were entering store and getting service while I was still waiting! I have shopped here for years and have never had this poor customer service EVER!!!!!! I will not go back! I have had a few visits to the store now over the years as I have been in a few weddings that required me to rent/buy groomsmen tuxes/suits. Every time I have been in I was helped when I walked in, given what I ordered, proper fit, and all went well. I am adding a review after having great service again today, even though the sales person knew I wasn't buying anything! My brother gets married in a few weeks, and is using a local rental place only in Birmingham, AL. I needed to get sized, and when I told the sales person my story, without question they sized me up, and were pretty thorough. Even had me try on a few jackets just to make sure we wrote down the right thing. Thank you John for your help, and I will definitely make a trip back when I can. read more

I went to get fitted and to see what shirts were on sale. The two gentlemen that I originally met with were very nice and helpful we were looking through items online that they didn't have at that location. A woman came out who I'm assuming was the manager and said can I help you with something with a very bad attitude. From that point on I felt like she was rushing me to make a decision all while having an attitude with the guy that was originally helping me. I asked her questions about how certain lines would fit compared to other ones and she answered like I was stupid. It was my first time in Jos. A. Bank and I admittedly had no clue what I was doing. When I told her the sport coats were a little out of my price range and I was just going to go with the shirts she acted like she was disgusted. I was very uncomfortable at that point so I just picked some shirts quickly and left. Under no circumstances will I ever visit that location again. read more

This place has great guest service. All the employees go the extra mile to make sure you find what you need. The prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely come back here and buy more sport coats on my next visit. read more

My son needed a suit. Because it was his very first suit, we had questions about style, size, prices, colors, the works. Chris Brink took the time to answer all our questions, showed us many different options, and we ended up buying 2 suits. One needed altering which Chris said would normally take a few days. When we mentioned that my son had an interview in a couple of days, he said he'd get the tailor to rush in our alterations. The other had to be ordered which would take up to three weeks. Incidentally, this was our second choice store. We had just come from The Men's Wearhouse a few stores away, and we were disappointed at the indifference and rudeness exhibited bt the assistant manager Clay Calvert. We'll never go to The Men's Wearhouse again. For customer service, Jos A Bank is far better. read more

Purchased 3 premium suits from this location and they all had to be ordered and I was told they would take a month. A month came and went with no contact from the retailer, I called in and they said it would take a week longer. I began to receive small postcard like mail from Jos A Bank and it informed me that individual parts of my order were on back order and that they would be automatically canceled if I did not mail a 'keep order' request. I had to call in for each one of the four postcards in order to prevent my order from being auto-canceled. Another month rolls by and the suits are not in. I finally got a call that said that 2 of the jackets and 2 of the pants were in (not 2 full suits) and that the final pieces should be in soon. Two and half months after my original order, I was able to come in and try on the suit and get fitted. Turned out that none of my original purchase included the tailoring (which I wasn't told) even though the pants were not tailored at all (size 38 pant was about 60 in long) and did not have a finished end. So a $200 pair of pants HAD to have another $50 of tailoring. Paid another $220 to get all three pairs of pants finished and this took another 2 weeks. Suits seem good quality but no where near the price tag of $650 each and $200 per pair of pants and the high price luxury service failed to deliver again and again. No apologies were made for the missed deadlines and I have already attended an event that I purchased the suits for. The staff was simply happy to take my money on two occasions and make no amends for very poor service. read more
