Had a great experience being helped by Brandon. He was able to answer any and all questions we had about getting a custom made tuxedo for my wedding as well as getting tuxedos from my father and groomsmen. Brandon also helped me find a great dinner suit for my rehearsal dinner. He was also helpful in finding us deals where they were available and getting us out the door with a price we get very comfortable with for everything we got. Had a boys size 18 suit and matching pants left on hold. I'm 23 with an athletic, slim build so shoulders on "men's" can extend too far. I'm visiting and forgot mine so had to branch out and buy a new one. When I politely asked to try on before i buy, the sales woman who grabbed what I had on hold said verbatim, "You think THIS is going to fit YOU" with a demeaning smirk in front of a group of people. I don't get offended easily lol but internally i thought "did she really just say that?". She then made me try it on at the counter and when it fit perfectly it almost had her PO'd. Her shocked expression was satisfying enough but I felt extremely uncomfortable trying on the pants. I just needed to purchase the suit and get out of there so I didn't get defensive. It's hard to capture the demeaning essence in writing, but it's wild because these suits aren't nice enough for that behavior lol read more

I went in there to look for a suit for an upcoming engagement party. The associate in there was very awkward and uninterested through the whole process. He seemed to be rushing me and giving incorrect information in regards to size. I don't understand why as the place was empty at the time. After picking out a suit the pants were too long and had to be shortened. The same associate said he'd take care of it and made the markings and again it felt rushed and didn't seem like he was paying attention. Well when I got my pants they did turn out too short and looked awful and this was two days out from my event. Very inconvenient, had to take it to another person to get it fixed last minute which is not ideal. Not a great experience :( read more

Short story- Avoid the tailoring here at all costs and take your own measurements when ordering! Long story- I very rarely leave reviews this negative, but I also rarely have experiences that were as negative as the one that I had at Jos A Bank Cool Springs. I had to get a suit for a wedding through Jos A Bank and came in to get measured for the suit. They measured and wrote down the sizes and I sent them in. Upon receiving the suit in the mail a couple of weeks later I tried it on and it was absolutely massive on me. I went back and looked at the sizes that the women had taken and every measurement was at least 2 inches larger than when I measured, some up to 4, including the waist. I took the suit in to get tailored over 6 weeks before the wedding. I told them that it was waaaay to big and that everything needed to be taken in. They took measurements and I got an estimate of $70-$100 which is about what I was expecting. When I was called and told that the suit was ready I tried it on and only half of the pants and the jacket had been altered. The waist had been taken in but the legs were still super baggy. The shoulders had been taken in but not the sleeves. It looked ridiculous. After telling them exactly what I wanted done, the manager ( who was condescending and rude the entire time) told me "We never alter suits to be that small. We can't do it." Now I'm a small guy, but that makes zero sense at all. You alter the suit to fit the person wearing it. Period. I know exactly how I like my suits to fit and have had many suits tailored this way. When I pointed out the rest that needed to be done, the manager added the price and by the time he was done the alterations were more expensive than what I had paid for the suit in the first place. I firmly believe that this was why they mis-measured in the first place. When they finally got it to me, they had still ignored what I asked them to do, it still wasn't right and they weren't going to do anything about it because the wedding was in less than a week. I took it to another tailor in town and they made the suit fit exactly how I wanted to without any argument. They also had it ready in two days when Jos A Bank took over 5 weeks to get them done. read more

Here's the rundown of my experience. * What I loved: truly the excellent, patient, and professional service by Kristin M. (Assistant Manager). Decided to buy my first Tuxedo and had no freaking clue, which was a little intimidating. Kristin provided helpful suggestions, advice, and was a great listener. For the two suits I requested at least one shirt and one tie combination for each suit. I really loved all the combinations she put together, and quite frankly being a smidge conservative would not have done myself. * What I bought: boy I needed a bunch of stuff. Bought my first Tuxedo, a couple of suits and business slacks, a couple shirts, ties and other related accessories. Most were Signature or Signature Gold. * Who helped me: Kristin M. , Assistant Manager * When: A Friday evening around 6:00. I was there about an hour. I have shopped at Joseph A Banks in Memphis and now Franklin for over 25 years. Always superior service and quality clothing!!! ***************** Extra comments A word about other reviews: Personally I think the 1 star reviews are from a bunch of hacks. One mentions another business so that one's biased. As for the other 1 star review, well, with all due respect Walmart might be your best bet . Rating explanation: A five-star review should really be the best experience you've had for that type of industry. Bought two pairs of pants in December 2014, had them tailored in-store, and picked them up in mid January 2015. I noticed a few weeks later that there was stitching missing in the seam of one pair in the seat/butt of the pants (looks like it has been there all along, just I never noticed until after wearing them, which is very embarrassing considering its location.) I took the pair back to the store to be fixed, but learned that I would have to dry clean them before Jos Banks would repair the poorly sewn-together pants. They said it was a Tennessee law, although I have never had this issue at other tailors before, including other Joseph Banks locations in Tennessee. Since the pants were only a month old and had been worn maybe 2 times, I asked for Jos Banks to dry clean them and fix their issue without further inconvenience to myself. This request was denied. I will never shop at this location again. If you sell a low quality product that comes apart in an embarrassing spot after less than a month of ownership, don't further inconvenience your customers who have brought the item back to the store for repair! Buy a fabric steamer and steam the items yourselves, then fix the problem! I have spent thousands of dollars at Joseph Banks in the past, but this experience will be my last with them. I have to share the great experience I had here. The moment I walked in I was greeted by Ed. He took time to ask what I was looking for and what I wanted to accomplish. I needed a small, basic, but good mix and match wardrobe that was a step above my usual khaki and button down. I wasn't looking for a complete overhaul, just some much needed additions. Ed knows that store and his stock like the back of his hand. In no time we had decided on the items that would meet my needs. I'm waiting to get a few items back after alterations, so I don't know what that experience will be like (I read the reviewer below). I'll make sure to update this review after that. "Management is rude to their employees, IN FRONT of customers. Extremely unprofessional." ONE STAR.

I went here to have my fiancé fitted for his wedding suit. The staff were very courteous and helpful. We were in there for a few different appointments and sometimes we did have to wait a little while because the staff were helping other customers. I didn't mind that they didn't greet us right away because I know as a customer, when a staff member is helping me, I prefer them not interrupt our session by tending to someone else. I'm kicking myself because I don't remember his name but there was an older gentleman that we worked with at most appointments and he was fantastic. The suits are great quality, the fitting was done wonderfully, and even though they were offering shoes, ties, etc, they did not pressure us when we declined to add those items. I will recommend this company and will use them again in the future. read more

Avoid at all costs. I would leave a negative star rating if possible. I have had multiple interactions with this store, none of which have been pleasant. To put the icing on the cake, the nearly $400 suit I purchased from here was put in a glorified trash bag instead of a suit bag like you would normally receive when purchasing a suit from anywhere else. I wish I could give 0 stars. Staff was very rude. I came in with a wedding party of 5, the staff totally ignored us and told the groom he could "go over there and look for a suit" pointed at a rack, and ran away. I've never felt more invisible than I did in this store, with a group of 7 people, you would think someone would at least ask one of us if we could be helped. Judging from the other reviews, it looks like we got lucky to not ultimately choose this store to make custom suits for a wedding! read more

My husband and I had a very disappointing experience with this store. We got poor service, the salesman was rude and dismissive of our concerns/preferences. We did order a suit, we were instructed to come back in a week to get fitted since the pants had to be sent from another store. When we went back in a week the pants were not there, but the same salesman was there being just as off putting. They had our contact info and could have called to inform us that the pants had not arrived prior, but that did not happen. We opted to get a refund, and took our business to Men's Warehouse. read more

I like that they have shirt sizes by exact arm length, but holy shit was the sales person was a rude piece of work. Managed to talk and eye roll his way out of a sure fire sale. Men's Warehouse upstairs doesn't have as exacting a size variety, but at least helpful and not rude. If you hate the job that much please do everyone a favor and quit. read more
