Don't know where to begin but I'll try. Everything, and I mean everything, about my experience here was awful. Awful. Needed to get fitted for a tuxedo for a wedding and they had one employee working who, after I waited my turn, began to measure me but then left at least 7-8 times to tend to other business. I was there nearly an HOUR! Picking up my tux was equally as bad. I tried it on and everything except the coat fit (totally understandable.) I was then told the new size I needed was already on a truck in Texas and might not make it in time (odd - I guess we will see) The worst part was the employee could not give a single straight answer when asked multiple legitimate questions. He seemed distracted, uninterested, and ambivalent to working there. I would give zero stars if possible. I will never, ever, go to a Jos A. Bank store again. read more

I was lied to from the Salesman said there was a sale from the rack l picked from. after l got the measurements made and went to the register the same salesman said the sale wasn't for the suite l picked. No...just no. This place is the worst. My son went there about 3 months ago prior to leaving for Estonia where he was scheduled to play basketball overseas. He planned on getting fitted for his brothers wedding *7/10/21* so he could be prepared and have his tux by the time he got back. My other boys went to the Clifton location around the same time and last week they received a phone call that their suits were ready. My son had not heard from the Westfield location where he was fitted so he called them a few days ago and was told that he should come in on Thursday (today) to pick it up. He called today and they asked for his information only to tell him afterward that he was never fitted there and they did not have his measurements nor his tux. Then they told him if he came in today before 4 PM they would measure him and put in a request to have the suit rushed in which case he would be responsible for a $20 rush fee and the tux might possibly be ready before Saturday morning at 11 AM but guess what? The wedding is at 10 AM I was very heated over the whole thing so I ended up calling the store and I spoke to Gil. He told me that my son was never fitted there. I told Gil that my son was either lying or their store is extremely disorganized. I asked Gil if the store had any cameras and he said no. I found that very unusual but I told Gil that my son was not lying. I told him that his establishment has 2 stars so is it my son or is it you guys? You figure it out. After being constantly interrupted and told I was wrong, I asked Gil what his title was and he told me sales person. I then asked him if he would please put a manager on the phone. He said he would and left me on hold for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of being on hold with their store, I hung up the phone and immediately called back only to have my call ignored and the phone continued to ring until the store's voicemail picked up. I changed the settings on my phone so that my number would not be identified and I called back. When I called back my phone call was immediately picked up. It turns out I was talking to a manager at that time. His name was Emil. I tried to explain the situation to Emil but once again, I was constantly interrupted. I politely asked him to stop interrupting me and just allow me to explain. At that point he listened a little bit more only to allow me to get a few words out before he started interrupting me again to make excuses as to why my son's suit wasn't there and they didn't have his measurements . I told him I did not want to hear excuses I just wanted to rectify the issue. Well as you can probably guess from my one star review the issue did not get rectified however, my son did end up going to the Clifton location where he was able to get things done. I would in no way, no how, not even if Hell freezes over - recommend this sorry, trifling, unprofessional, excuse-making, disorganized silly a$$ business. The customer service was amazing. I got to the store at 7:50, and the manager stayed with me until 8:30 (after closing time), helping me with my prom tux. He never rushed me, or had an attitude. I have shopped with Jos a Bank before, and I will definitely continue to do so. read more

Extremely unreliable tailoring services for in-store purchases. My husband bought over $900 work of clothing - got sucked into a BOGO 1/2 price, some of which was meant to wear at our upcoming wedding. He was promised it would be done a few days before the wedding, which was cutting it close - nearly 2 weeks after he made the purchase. Goes to p/u at 10:00 am a couple of days before the wedding as the store scheduled, and they haven't even started to work on it! We both were very clear about the date the clothing was needed, it was promised as being no problem. We had long conversations with the salesperson about it, talking about the upcoming wedding plans, etc. FYI, his receipt showed the date to come back to p/u and yet, their copy had an entirely different date on it that someone else hand written in. Like, they just took it on themselves to change the p/u without even calling him. How on earth does something like that happen? So now, they have to scramble to finish tailoring everything for our Saturday morning wedding. We were livid and nobody even seemed upset or concerned on their end. Very upsetting and stressful situation to deal with and there's no way he would ever use this location in Westfield again. I wish we'd read reviews here first as we would have gone elsewhere more reliable. read more

Probably one of the worst customer service experiences I ever had. Get to the store after making an appointment, I show up on time. I got an older man to help me while everyone else stood around and did nothing. The older man while trying to be nice had no idea what he was doing at all. I was trying to rent a wedding suit, and after picking out what I wanted and getting measured, he basically said I can't rent at this store and that I had to go to mens warehouse? Some bs about my customer number being blocked in the system. I spent an hour and a half getting measured and watching you trying to figure out the system to be told that I can rent from you? Hello? I'm trying to rent a suit for $250 for me and 6 other guys, and you are telling me I can't? Not a great business model. Finally after I got into an argument about wanting to rent a suit from the store someone intervened and said just let him rent the suit! Great! 20 more minutes go by! Guess what!?? The suit that I wanted???? They don't have in stock!!!! I walked out. Will never return, will never recommend. read more

If I'm going to allow you to sucker me into spending over $900 on a "buy one get one" - (please, it's all about the markup) suit, shirt, tie, cuff links, and belt for my son and husband, then you'd better pretend you are not irritated with my teenager when he doesn't know the protocol for trying on, measuring, and purchasing a suit. Yes, I know it's frustrating that he slouches or hands you the pants inside out, or doesn't stand exactly where you'd like him to. Boo-hoo, I'm so sorry you're inconvenienced while you're making boatloads of money off of me. And the tailor - I grew up with cranky old Italian men. You will NOT intimidate me with phrases like, "I'm trying to tell you....." The quality of the clothing is high, and I shopped here for convenience and because I was in a hurry. Gritting my teeth and wishing I enjoyed shopping more so that I could go elsewhere. read more

I always had a good impression of the store and their service until I decided to rent my wedding Tux from them. Basically the Tux I ordered came with a Faux vest - which was cleverly concealed in their catalog and website (I.e. no mention of a fake vest comprised of only the front portion). So you can imagine my surprise when I go to pick up my tux and find that the vest is something reminiscent of what you'd find in a Halloween costume - just the front portion that goes over the wearers head like a bib. If you took the coat off you would look ridiculous. So for 200$ my groomsmen and I received these cheap looking gimmicks. the associate was equally surprised and said he'd ever seen that before, but made no apologies. He did help me order a new vest but it was a different color than planned. Also had to go put all my grooms men under the inconvenience of reordering their vests too. Not to mention the shirt and coat had sleeve lengths that were 3-4 inches too short, even after having sized me twice when I placed the order. This reflects a serious quality control problem with their third party tux vendor. Instead of owning the problems that came up, JoS A banks thinks it makes them look better by just passing the buck to the tux vendor. Well guess what , as far as I'm concerned I'm giving them my money and I expect them to be personally committed to making sure I get what I'm paying for. Its a shame - because I do like the store and their products. However they have lost potential revenue from me as I will not refer my friends who are getting married to them in the future. read more

Worst customer service! I went to the store the other day looking for a size 14 loafer. The sales associate checked the back and then told me they unfortunately do not carry any in that size. I thanked him for looking and then mentioned that I had two suspenders that I had to return. Well, his attitude towards me completely changed. He asked me why I wanted to return them and I told him that they didn't fit my husband. He looked at me with a smirk and then mansplained to me that they were adjustable. Yes, I understand how suspenders work but my husband is almost 6'5" and is not a slight man. He pushed me on this for a while and then eventually told someone, I'm assuming the manager, "she's looking to make a return without a receipt." Like I had the gall to ask for something so egregious. I told him I was only looking for store credit at today's price. The manager was able to look up the original transaction from my phone number since my husband has a card there. He stared at the monitor for about a minute, stared at me and then with an attitude told me that the transaction happened in December. I said, "ok, and...?" Our return policy is 90 days and this is seven months ago...you can't get a credit on this. I was so mad I left without saying a word but I should have told them that they sold the suspenders to my husband knowing that they weren't going to fit him! He was there when we bought them. I was looking to return what is probably one of their least expensive items in the store, not a suit! You will get treated one way when you're looking to buy something but when you're looking to return something, you will be treated with contempt. Almost like they were trained to treat customers this way. Newsflash, Jos. A Bank, people actually communicate their experiences with one another. Give someone good customer service, they'll return to your store and will encourage others to do so. Treat them like garbage and they will tell their friends, coworkers, barista, anyone willing to listen NOT to shop there.
