I wish I could give 10 stars to Jos and Tree. They are simply amazing. Our photos were so gorgeous and even better, our experience working with them was so much FUN! They are such a fun, chill, calming couple. We had them over for dinner a few months over the wedding and they just fit right in, and took the time to get to know us and understand who we are, so our pictures truly reflected that on our wedding day. I've never seen pictures so stunning. Also, the day of the wedding, the guys were late and threw off our pre-ceremony shooting schedule and they just rolled with it. I never even knew. Seriously, if you have the money book them immediately. I also dont think they are overpriced, given others I looked around at. Worth every penny and then some. Jos and Tree are amazing! They worked extremely hard our entire wedding day, and captured so many beautiful moments. Jos and Tree were so amazing to work with. I am so stunned by their work and detail oriented skills! I am not a huge fan of cameras, but Jos and Tree made sure I was comfortable. Their work is amazing and they both are really passionate and love what they do. Their work is worth every dollar! For someone who is not easily impressed.............Jos + Tree delivered! Not only is Jos a great referral source, but he knows how and what he wants for and from you to have the amazing photos you dream of. I have never seen someone work so hard for an entire long........day!! I don't even recall Jos and Tree ever eating during the course of a 10 hour day. This is because there is always someone taking a photo. I also appreciated that Jos and Tree is easy but assertivate....I always felt comfortable speaking with them. It was as though he was SUPERMAN........and she was superwoman lol..........but seriously, there are a lot of photographers out there but TRUST ME.............there is only ONE Jos and Tree. Our experience with Jos was beyond words. When I decided to propose to my fiance Jessie in Portland, I found Jos' website. I was immediately drawn to the quality of photography that I saw there. He worked with me months before the actual proposal, humoring my desire to cover every detail. When I presented the idea of doing a surprise engagement shoot out at Elowah falls, Jos happily agreed. He and his team were there in waiting for Jessie and I to show up. When I dropped to one knee and proposed to her, I was so happy and relieved to have someone that I trusted implicitly to take those precious images. My daughter and I just attended the Luxe Marry Me Night Market and fashion show where Jos studios was one of several photographers capturing the event. We had positioned ourselves early to be able to watch the fashion show, which was extremely awkward, cramped and had very limited seating. About a third of the way into the show Jos himself came barreling towards me and intentionally stood right in front of me, blocking the view with an obnoxiously large light. He then proceeded to repeatedly back up into me - hard, stepping on my feet a couple of times. I said, "excuse me you're being rude" and he glared at me. I then asked, "are you here to see gowns and purchase them for YOUR wedding"? He snarled at me and yelled, "I really don't see your point" then stomped away. Him and his wife were so incredibly invasive, cocky, and downright nasty I vowed then and there to make sure all the brides I know, and anyone and everyone else I come across, DON'T hire these people! If you can be such an ass to an innocent bystander who was there for the very purpose of trying to find a wedding gown and reputable vendors, which is the entire POINT of the event, then I cannot fathom allowing you anywhere near a wedding or it's guests! You should be ashamed of yourself. Let me be exceedingly clear ... you were one of MANY photographers there and yet you were the ONLY ones who were total pricks to everyone. Talented photographers abound in Portland, better get straight real quick because news spreads fast and you're replaceable! read more

I agree with Kelly A - I wish I could give them 10 stars. I would give them all the stars if I could, they were completely amazing, and months after our wedding I still get comments on how incredible our wedding photos are. Their creativity is phenomenal, although I do worry about Jos's longevity, as he has a habit of putting himself in precarious positions to get a perfect shot, like climbing a 30 foot tree for a shot of us in a hammock (which turned out so lovely). I actually work at a wedding venue, and I realize something very striking about the difference in their process - many of the newlyweds I see on a day to day basis are mostly just trying to get done with their photos - there is an emotional disconnect, and while the photos can still be lovely, they aren't engaged in the process and see it as something to get through, not something that can make the day even more full. It is completely different with Jos and Tree. We actually typically hate having our picture taken, but the photography was so interlinked to our overall experience that our entire group was friends with Jos and Tree by the end of the weekend. I didn't expect this, but am so glad that it all came together this way. They have this incredible gift of making people feel so at home with them that you can just be yourselves, with the occasional encouraging direction from them. They are not only talented, but so very warm and welcoming and unique. This made us feel so much more relaxed and actually allowed us to not even think about it as we were getting our photos taken - we just enjoyed every single moment, and have the incredible experience of being able to look back at these memories with every image. I even loved looking at myself ugly cry, because I remember being in the moment and knowing what it was that made me cry like that. They will go over every detail with you leading up to your event, so that they will be equipped to capture every moment. They prioritize capturing candid moments and reveling in the experience over adhering to a contracted time frame (as in, they won't be rushing out the door the second the clock strikes the end of the night - I have seen photographers that literally book it the second their contracted time ends). I'm not even sure if they had a certain timeframe in their contract? They basically took photos all weekend long (it was a destination wedding) and were a part of the family by the end. In terms of our timeframe, let me assure you that they were crucial in keeping us on our personal timeline before the ceremony. The process of getting ready was such a blur to me, despite being very organized and a little neurotic about it beforehand. I was just completely overwhelmed, but they were making sure that everything was flowing appropriately and they were capturing the shots they wanted while keeping us on time for the actual event. I honestly can't recommend them enough. We are beyond thrilled each and every time we look at our photos and feel lucky to call them friends, and truly think they bring something great into this world by capturing moments and celebrations in their uniquely enthralling way. read more

I don't even know where to start. I have so many kind thoughts about Jos and Tree's contributions to our wedding day and the planning prior to it were so much appreciated and I don't believe that you will find any "customer service" like it with other photographers. I had been working in the bridal industry for 5 years at the time and still did not realize a few areas of my planning that I lacked knowledge in. Jos and Tree are completely educated in matters of the wedding day and steered me in the right direction when I was getting a little lost. My husband and I just got married on August 22nd at the World Forestry Center in Portland...we had Jos as our photographer, and we absolutely loved every minute of our time with him! I was recommended to The Photographers by a good friend of ours who does event planning, and I was able to meet Jos at the Bridal Show in January. My fiance at the time met up with Jos not knowing or having even seen Jos' work before, but within 30 minutes, my fiance was totally comfortable and excited to have Jos as our photographer. The day of the wedding, Jos was behind the scenes, and never intrusive. He checked out the surrounding areas to scoop out backgrounds for amazing photographs. He was playful, and knew how to work our bridal party to feel comfortable and energentic, and never out of their comfort zones. Jos made Jacob, my new husband, and I, feel so at ease and excited! He captured our love through the lens, and I am very very anxious to see the final results.
