I paid for my mother to come here and receive service in regards to hairstyling and cutting. Needless to say, it was an absolute waste of $190. The prices seemed fair compared to other salons, but the absolute appalling service rendered wasn't worth the money; my mother would have been better going to sports clips! Jose seemed confident with the style, but the aftermath begs to differ. This is the second time I've paid for a family member to receive a service here, and for a second time we are extremely disappointed. Somehow Jose managed to cut my hair in a way that made my hair fall naturally and consistently wavy (normally, half of my head is wavy/curly and half is stubbornly straight. I either had to curl it all, straighten it all or wear it up bc who has time for all that). I didn't know what I wanted but somehow he gave me the perfect cut. It looks great down without having to do much of anything to it! Also, very affordable. Prices are usually gouging and only getting worse. The salon is beautiful and the tea is delicious! Angie is now by far my favorite stylist, EVER. She rocks at shampoos, hand massages, and scalp massages. When she blows out my hair I just cant get over how smooth and silky she can get it, WITH JUST A BLOW DRYER! She never takes off more lengh than wanted and I ONLY trust her with my eye brows. I have spent a lot of money on my hair and I have to tell you, I love her. She only recomends the right product for my crazy hair texture, and has turned me into an Aveda fanatic. Got a haircut and balayage highlights from Jose. My hair cut was nothing special and my balayage highlights didn't show up at all! I had balayage highlights at Gene Juarez 6 months prior and they did a wonderful job. Jose pretty much died my hair black which is my natural color. He had to tone down my hair after the balayage which was why my hair was black again. I called them and they tried to "fix" it but all he ended up doing is a foil. Let me remind you that a balayage costs more than a foil and are strategically placed highlights. I pretty much wasted my time and got a foil when I paid for a balayage. I will be staying with Gene Juarez for my hair care. I like that fact the at Gene Juarez your colorist only deals with hair dye and are specialists at what they do, as they have additional training outside of just hair cutting. read more

Why does this place only have one star??? I've had nothing but amazing services here! Today I got a brow wax from Angie and I have to say that at first I was scared because I've been to many different places for a brow wax and left really unhappy but she gave me the best eye brows I've ever had for a fraction of the price I was use to paying!! I scheduled a hair cut with her for the first week of April and will post again about how that turns out but right now I have to tell everyone to go see Angie if you want perfect eyebrows for a fraction of the price of a high end salon!! Finding a good hair cut is nearly impossible around here anymore...particularly if you have very straight and fine hair. Jose Manuel is the only salon who has ever cared if my layers made my hair more or less thin - I appreciate that he cuts my hair to maintain as much thickness as possible while getting a very nice shape! My first visit I had the extended bikini wax done with Younghee, She is AMAZING, very sweet and made me feel super comfortable.
