Finding a new hairstylist is hard especially when you switch climates. I moved from the desert to the rainforest and for awhile I was blaming my lack of curls on a past horrific balayage where I ended up nearly blonde *insert tears*. I had been going to a salon in Tumwater and was happy with the service, stylist, and cut/color but notimy curls still hadn't been revived. So I ventured to Tacoma and found Kristina!!! She is EVERYTHING ya'll!!! She was on time and listened to my questions & concerns and confirmed my suspicions that I was damaging my hair with my "drybar" curling iron...LOL...it was ME all along after the balayage. So she educated me on how hot is too hot, hooked me up with some local organic products #LOMA that smell amazing and are easy to use at home. I'm so happy (and so is my hair) to have found Kristina...the curl whisperer! COVID update! My locks were missing Kristina and so was I, but well worth the wait! We caught up and chatted about the whole pandemic and I'm so happy this small business survived...she's so talented and a great human! This was by far the worst experience of my life. I had gone in hoping to get my first curly hair trim and walked out with 4 inches gone. I had Cassidy who did not listen to my wishes and not once even combed my hair. I made it very clear that I wanted very minimal hair cut and just the ends removed. I was left with a short style which was also uneven. There are numerous different lengths all around my head and the back was dramatically shorter than the front. I have horrible layers and now a horrible self image. My hair was apart of my personality and now I don't want to look in the mirror. Safe to say my self esteem is crushed and there's nothing to be done about it. I was crying numerous times through my style along with my stylist. I've been getting my hair done by Kristina for about a year now and just recently had my first experience at her new salon! The salon itself is so warm and welcoming with parking spots conveniently located right outside of the building too. I am not terribly good at "styling" my hair so she always keeps that in mind and doesn't ever go out of my comfort zone with some crazy cut that'll take me hours to style. She does however design a cut that is cute, with length to throw it up in a bun or something quick and easy to blow dry and go! My most recent cut was tailored to the new curly hair style and with her guidance and amazing line of shampoo/style gel I literally throw some gel in my hair blow dry for 10 mins and walk out the door with cute wavy hair that doesn't feel like it's weighed down at all! Bottom line for the price and expertise you really should check her out! You will not be disappointed. read more
