It has truly been a pleasure partnering with Seaton Senior Living Community in this important transition for my mother. The staff and advisors consistently exceeded expectations. I can confidently say that you surpassed what I understand to be the current industry standard--particularly in terms of responsiveness and engagement. If I'm mistaken about that industry standard, then that's a very good thing. Either way, the speed, clarity, and volume of communication (texts, emails, and calls) immediately eased my concerns and transformed what I expected to be a long and tedious process into a smooth and reassuring experience. As a security consultant and business owner, one additional aspect that truly impressed me was the level of access control upon entering the facility. Other communities we visited did not have this measure in place--I was able to walk in without interfacing with anyone, which in today's environment is not reassuring at all. Seaton Senior Living Community clearly checks all the boxes when it comes to best practices in security standards. Because of this experience, my mindset shifted almost instantly--from "this is going to take a while" to "Let's GOOOOO!" (happy yell and dance included). Without a doubt, I've been blown away by the staff and quality of services they provide! My mom is a very active, social person, and she participates in all the activities - she's always telling me about something exciting they are doing. From musical guests to special food tastings, outings to local attractions, and more. I especially want to comment on the smart, compassionate management of Seaton when folks get sick. They work hard to ensure residents stay healthy and are taken care of both physically and mentally if they need to pause in-person activities. I greatly appreciate the staff at Seaton. Everybody there is sedated, they don't have any activities , they are incompetent when it comes to nursing care and they have no dietitian on staff to check food/drug interactions or ensure the people are getting good quality healthy meals and meeting nutrient needs. They make homemade meals and I'm not sure if they are ServeSafe certified (which they need to be to handle food safely). They called us several times a day every day to come up there because they don't want to entertain your loved ones. And if you refuse to sedate your loved one (like we did) they get frustrated as the patients get so bored and they talk. It was a terrible experience.

Our loved one lived with fronto-temporal dementia requiring significant care and raising a host of challenging balance/falls, communication, and daily caretaking needs. The JK team worked tirelessly to come up with solutions that kept H safe and met her practical needs, while never losing sight of her as a real, present person and working just as hard to connect with her emotional and human needs. We know she felt as loved and cared for at JK as she did when we were providing care at home. From birthday celebrations to holiday traditions to everyday home-cooked family style meals, JK is committed to making a community that includes and supports all residents - and they succeed.
