Dr. Prousi is top-notch!…read more My husband is one of those people who seems to always have a tooth that's bothering him. He never complains, so when he does, you know it's bad. He's visited Dr. Prousi several times for tooth extractions, grafts, and dental implants. He fully explains the process and ensures all questions are answered ahead of time. He is highly skilled, super gentle, and ensures the post-op plan is clear. An added bonus is having the option of I.V. sedation which is huge for folks who cannot handle the sound of dental drills, etc (my husband is this person)! Dr. Prousi is always upbeat, conversational, and in a good mood. What a breath of fresh air! His staff is excellent also. Upfront pricing and smooth appointment scheduling. They have a comfortable waiting area for your loved ones (I should know...I've been there enough)! Ample parking and spotless office. If you're seeking an oral surgeon, this is the place for you. Well worth the drive if you're not local!

The staff was warm and friendly, and Dr. Mckinlay bedside manner was hands down the one of the best we've ever experienced. She made my daughter feel calm and cared for throughout the whole process. We did a follow up care, caked in last minute they see us the same day. This time we saw Dr. Prousi. He and his team checked in and even made time for her last-minute when we had a concerns. It's rare to find a doctor and staff this attentive and compassionate. He even called personally to check up on her afterwards. I would highly recommend Dr. Prousi and his team to anyone looking for excellent oral surgery care.

Disappointing Experience - We Will Not Be Returning…read more I'm writing to let you know that I will not be returning, and neither will my daughter. For me, customer service is everything. The poor experience started on our first visit. While I was in the bathroom, my daughter was taken to the back. When I came out, I wanted to check on her, so I asked a staff member walking by (unfortunately, I didn't get her name). Her response was rude and dismissive--asking if my daughter was over 18. I told her, "I don't care if my daughter is 28 or 38, I'm still going to make sure she's okay." Her attitude was completely uncalled for. Fast forward to my own appointment and who ends up helping me? The same woman. While she was polite this time, her body language made me feel unwelcome. That sets the tone for any experience. Then, during my X-rays, I noticed she pulled gloves out of her shirt pocket. That is not sanitary. She put them on and started touching the computer. I asked her to change her gloves before handling any sterile items. She said she would, but also explained she has to keep touching the mouse between shots. Her solution? She put a glove over the mouse. Honestly, that didn't reassure me. Thankfully, the cleaning went smoothly. Dominic was great, friendly, professional, and made me feel at ease. But then I was brought to the front desk. There were five employees up there, and I stood waiting while two patients were helped. After they left, I was still standing there... being ignored. When I mentioned I had to leave to pick up my daughter, I was told someone was "working on my file." But my chart was visibly sitting there untouched. I said to call me later. When I missed the call and phoned back, I was placed on hold and no one picked up. This kind of service is unacceptable. I refuse to go to a place where the staff act like they don't want to be there, especially when they're supposed to be caring for me as a patient. Because of this, we will not be returning.

I said I already paid and I didn't have additional services done. I said I have to go and I'm leaving, the staff member yelles as I was leaving, you'll just get a bill in the mail. I called after I got in my car to explain and the staff member talked to me like I was being reprimanded by my mother or school teacher. The lack of professionalism she felt empowered to display spoke volumes for how The Smilist allows their patients to be treated. After 25+ years it's time for a change.

Although the fillings were fine, I had a very poor care experience and had deeply bitten my upper lip due to prolonged numbness after this rather routine procedure. I called her back to let her know what had occurred since it had been nearly two hours latter. Dr. Osmani exhibited poor bedside manners, didn't introduce herself, check in with me during my procedure nor did she provide follow up care instructions. She was in the next patients months seconds after finishing my extraction and unavailable to answer basic questions. I felt like a Tuskegee experiment candidate. I was angry at myself for allowing her to treat me like an object. I wondered if I were someone else would she have behaved differently or is she overwhelmed and unhappy with her position? I don't know and it's not something I as a paying patient should have to worry about. Nevertheless, I won't be going back there. I feel uncomfortable with her being the primary dentist. When I called back to speak with her she apologized and stated she was super busy during my visit. Unacceptable. Patients demand better or let her practice as a Veterinarian.

I am writing to formally complain about my recent visit to your dental office…read more What should have been a normal tooth extraction became an unacceptable experience due to serious sanitation failures and the dentist's dismissive, arrogant demeanor toward both patients and staff. While seated in the waiting room, I personally observed multiple cockroaches casually walking across the floor in plain view of other patients. This is not a minor oversight. A medical/dental facility that allows vermin to roam freely in patient areas demonstrates a fundamental failure of basic hygiene standards. Dental offices handle open mouths, instruments, and infection control; the presence of roaches raises legitimate concerns about cleanliness throughout the practice, including treatment areas. No patient should have to sit in a waiting room watching pests while waiting to be seen. Compounding the problem was the dentist's conduct. Throughout the visit he treated his staff with open contempt--speaking to them sharply, dismissing their input, and generally behaving as though they were an inconvenience rather than professionals assisting in patient care. The atmosphere was tense and demeaning. Staff should not be required to endure that kind of treatment in a workplace, especially one that holds itself out as a healthcare provider. His attitude toward patients was equally objectionable. He was arrogant, condescending, and clearly operating under the impression that his credentials exempt him from basic courtesy or accountability. Questions were brushed aside, concerns minimized, and the overall interaction left the impression that patients exist primarily to absorb his expertise rather than to receive respectful care. That posture is neither professional nor acceptable. These issues are not trivial. Visible infestation of a waiting room in a clinical setting is a public-health red flag. Treating employees as second-class and patients as beneath consideration reflects a toxic culture that should not be tolerated in any healthcare practice. I expect a prompt written response addressing my review posted today..... * Immediate corrective action regarding pest control and documented sanitation improvements * How the practice will ensure staff are treated with basic professional respect * Assurance that patient interactions will meet ordinary standards of courtesy and accountability I am prepared to escalate this matter to the state dental board, health department, and relevant review platforms if these concerns are not taken seriously. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and provide a substantive response ONLINE, within 10 business days again in response to this review. DO BETTER. Sincerely, Disgusted.
